Ballerz: Please do not waste your time with the Nigeria International license. It is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. It cannot even serve as a valid ID card. (Not surprised, it is issued by the Nigerian police). I got one, then I realised it was valid for just a year and very crappy. It is a waste of your money jare. Do not bother with that blue thing. Your Nigeria license and FRSC letter is all you need oremi.
Cheers Ballerz can you please provide the contact for the Frsc letter please |
Travel › Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by ymummy234: 8:53am On Sep 23, 2017 |
Ballerz: 1 & 2. Yes Temporary License because they will post the license to your address within 90 days. So the one printed on paper can be used while waiting for the one in the mail.
With your FRSC License, and Letter, you will go for the knowledge test, then G1 road test or G2 road test. The letter makes you skip the waiting times (12 - 18 months before you can proceed to the next level test.) Check page 11 of the manual for better clarification. So with the letter you do the Knowledge Test proceed to G2 road test, pass and collect your G License.
Your Nigerian License is expired. The manual says "If you are a new resident of Ontario and have a valid driver's licence from another province or country, you can use that license for 60 days in Ontario. If you want to continue to drive after 60 days, you must get an Ontario driver's license."
You need to get that FRSC letter to claim waiver for the 2 years waiting time. I had previously posted where You can make a request via email to them. They collected the original of the letter. You must also present the Nig License because they will need to make a copy of it. Congrats ballerz ... will I need to get an international driver license from Nigeria even though I have a valid drivers license already, will I need to bring both together with the FRSC letter or will one suffice |

KW01: Hello everyone,
please do we have lawyers among our seniors? I am awaiting PPR and would like to know how it is for Nigeria trained lawyers in Canada?
I have done my research and I understand the process for qualification and joining the bar. Is it the same process for corporate lawyers (company secretaries). even though I have been called to the bar in Nigeria for several years I have never been in litigation, over the years I have worked with several companies as head of corporate affairs/company secretary and I am also a chartered secretary (ICSA). contract negotiation and drafting is one of my core strengths.
What are job prospects and pay like?
I intend to get a masters degree to help me break into the system and get an articling position more easily but I have always had a flair for psychology and I don't mind going back to school to study for it part time if its a good field to go into in Canada.
please forgive my rambling..... I will appreciate your advise/suggestions.
cc: blackbuddy, salford1 and all the seniors in the house. Hi KW01, You will need to get a certificate of qualification from NCA (National Committee on Accreditation)- the first step to getting a Certificate of Qualification is to apply for an assessment of your credentials. After reviewing an application, the NCA will issue an assessment report to the applicant listing the subjects and/or legal education that is required to ensure that the applicant’s legal education and training is equivalent to that provided by an approved law school in Canada. In order to obtain an NCA Certificate of Qualification, most applicants are required to demonstrate competence in a number of subjects. Applicants may demonstrate competence in one of three ways: successful completion of NCA examinations; by registering as a special student in a Canadian common law degree program and successfully completing the assigned subjects as part of your program of studies; a combination of (1) and (2). Once an applicant has successfully completed the NCA requirements, the applicant may request a Certificate of Qualification by visiting the NCA portal you can get more info on - http://flsc.ca/national-committee-on-accreditation-nca/faqs/You can start the process here before you get to cannyland |

Wura27: Hi,
This is not a dating forum but I feel the necessity to advise you on some things you said/ insinuated.
If you love your man wholeheartedly, you would not get discouraged about settling down with him simply because you feel (this is an assumption on your part and not reality) his line of work will not sell as fast as yours.
Also if you love your man like I hope you do, you will always stand by him, encourage him and support him to be his best and reach his full potential.
As they say, what makes a great man is an even greater women.
So back to your question- Treasury in a bank is one of the best departments to work in and if you read previous posts on this thread, you will see that Finance is also as lucrative as IT in Canada.
All the best hugs and kisses wura |

so my first ADR was travel history for me and my spouse.
The second ADR was for a specific period - where my job in lagos coincided with my distant learning with school in London - had to clarify that by sending like a semi - LOE - I had to explain that it was distant learning - even though all these information were already in the initial LOE submitted as well as indication that it was by "correspondence" guess the VO wanted clarification |

omesanni: Wow this really fast. Am almost 2months in and I am still stuck in IP1. My AOR was June 10. My application is in CIO, Sydney and I heard those guys over there are real slow.
What V.O was your application processed at? Also, is there anyone here whose AOR is around June and their application is being processed at CIO? Just wondering why mine is so slow June applications are kind of slow jare, my AOR is June 4 and Medicals wasn't passed till 1st August, and been in IP1 since July even before Medicals passed .... although I now have a second ADR - I don't know where my app is but I have come to the conclusion that July ppl are speeding past us June ppl. We shall get there eventually |

That's what I would do. @sehawale this is exactly what you should do - i got ADR too and thats what i did - doesnt matter that i had sent it before - just resend and re fill the form and you are good |

Guys, is there a way to actually know which IP you are on (1 or 2) when you log in and you see Background Check - your application is in progress. we will send you a message when we start your background check - same message also available in the FINAL DECISION tab - meanwhile MEDICALS remain - if you need a medical exam a message with instructions will be sent to you. so basically, my IP is in progress but no medicals passed - am confused jare |
