Lumiadee:Well done girl! I 'm so impressed. |
Here is a granny rectangle pattern. You start from the middle (left hand side) by doing ch21. Please note that there are many ways of making a granny rectangle. This is just one of them. So it goes like this: Foundation row: Ch21. 3dc into 6th ch from hook, skip 2 ch, 3dc in next ch... continue to last ch where you do 1dc in last ch. Rnd 1: ch3, 3dc in top of last dc from foundation row. ch 3 (to form the first corner), 3dc into body of last dc from foundation row.... Okay class, you should be able to work out the rest of the pattern yourself. Please kindly post any questions you might have. Happy new year in advance.

tatacherie:Lovely! Well done! We should be moving to granny rectangles, triangles, circles and maybe hexagons soon. |
Compliments, everyone. I hope you are enjoying the holidays. |

@Lumidee, I am so impressed! Keep up the good work. |
@Trublvr and Tchidi. Hmmm, I actually thought meeting up at one time. And right now, I am so far away from Abuja. *sad* |

@Sharoniah, post the bowl. I am dying to see it. @Trublvr, good to see you again. Nice works. @Lumiadee, more power to your hook. Compliments of the season, everyone. |
tatacherie:You don't have to give up. At least you even tried by starting at all. Just start again, and slowly too. If Lumiadee could do it, then so can you. |
Sharoniah:This is so cute! More power to your hook. |
Sharoniah:Good morning Sharoniah. Granny square pictorial is on page 15. If you got the crochet hook from the market, then it is the regular 1.5mm that is sold everywhere. It doesn't matter what number is on it, it is still the same size. Meanwhile, you can double your yarn to add more weight to your work. |
Lumiadee:That's true! @Tatacherie, I'm still waiting for your granny square. We should have been doing other grannies by now. |
@Lumiadee, I m so proud of all my students. |
goldenruby:That looks like a great new design! |
Sharoniah:Yeah sure. |
Sharoniah:Very nice caps plus cute baby. Well done. When u r doing the shoe side, don't crochet into the two loops of the chains. Crochet into the back loop only for the first round of the shoe side. Then crochet as normal for other rounds.

Sharoniah:Good morning Dear. The vest is mixed technique - both knit and crochet. |

goldenruby:Just start from the height. It will still turn out right and even look like a new style. |

goldenruby:Good day Goldenruby. Please see page 7 of this thread where I explained that with a red yarn pictorial. There are small spaces under the "Chain-like " top where you crochet into. |
Sharoniah:When you enter Apo shoprite, walk straight down to the second or third to the last row (I can't remember exactly which one now). Check the place where they have sewing thread, needles, twine. You will see the hooks hanging there. |
Sharoniah:Thanks Sharoniah. You can get big hooks from shoprite (if you are in Nigeria). As for heavier yarn, you can only buy them from abroad. The other option is to double or tripple our acrylic yarn. |
goldenruby:I think you may be missing out one stitch per round, especially at the point of joining. You should count the dc after each round. The number should be the same as your last round i.e before you start to work the sides. E.g if you got up to round 8 before starting the cap side, then your stiches should be 96. So for every round thereafter, you should still have 96 dc. |
@Lumiadee, good morning my Dear. |
goldenruby:You are welcome Ma. |
goldenruby:Impressive! This is so cute. You are really catching up very fast. More power to your fingers and hook. |
