It depends on if you are using double yarn and also the size of your hook. Anything from rnd 7 on the average should be fine. But you will need to measure the circumference of your work.

Please make sure you have the required number of dcs at the end of each round. For example, at the end of rnd 8, you should have 96 dcs. I appreciate everyone. You are all really catching up very fast. So well done!

Remember to measure the circumference of your work after Rnd 9 or 10. If it is close to that of your model's head, then you will need to stop right there
I.e the crown of your cap is finished already.

I should put up the pattern for the sides soon.

Well done for trying the cap out. You will need to start all over (great patience needed). You have over expanded your work, hence your dcs are struggling for space.

There are also gaps at the point of joining in your Rnds 2 and 3- the joining should be firm.

So pls start all over. Do up to Rnd 2, post the px and then we will take it from there.

Well done for trying Tatacherie. However, you will need to start all over (this is where you will be needing great patience).

You have about 17 dc in your Rnd 5. You should be having 60 actually. What this means is that you are not expanding your work accordingly.

But don't fret. Do Rnds 1 and 2 again. Post a px and then we will take it from there.

Class, you will be working Rnds 4 - 9 or 12 from pattern which l will be putting up shortly.

What we are making now is the crown of the cap. The number of Rnds will depend on the circumference of your model's head.

For example, if your circumference is 18 inches, after you've done Rnd 9, flatten your work on a table and measure around it to see if you are close to 18 inches.

Yes. Just round her head (at the widest part). So the tape will come round to just about 1 inch above the eyebrows.
Are you sure you measured 17cm? I think it should be 17 inches. The last time I measured a 2 year old, the measurement was 18 inches.
