Newsboy Brim Pattern. Please take note of how to do dc2tog at the bottom of the page. Also let me know how many stitches you have in your last rnd so that we can modify the pattern accordingly.

Lumiadee:Good morning Dear. I will surely post the others. I 'm basically drafting the patterns to suit what we have done so far. Hopefully I will be done b4 2moro morning. |

@Lumiadee. Looks cool for a first attempt.
That's one big step you have taken.
ok i can still put flaps on it. but i have a confession ![]() i had to loose my work and start all over again from round 5 started finishing the sides from round 6 cos it was too big for my model's head.
I can see the px nw. Wow! I am so proud of you! We'll done! It's ok if you had to loosen d work. That is where you need all d patience in d world because when you spot an error, you have no choice than to go back and rectify it. Meanwhile, you don't have to put flaps in it. Tatacherie asked of flaps. I was only going to show how to do different types of finishing. Congrats again! |
Lumiadee:Really? That's was quick. But we were going to do finishing touches such as flaps. Haven't seen the px yet. |
Lumiadee:You don't have to feel bad. We all have various engagements. Like I work in a clinic, so you can imagine how busy my life is. All the same, we will all catch up properly maybe by Friday. |
Hello Class, how are we getting on with our caps? |

@ Zainabromoke. Count the stitches in your Rnd 4. They should be 48 in number. |
@ Bobijoe, thanks. Also waiting 4 d px on ur site. @ Tatacherie, let me know how many stitches there are on your last side rnd so that I can draft a pattern 4 d flaps. |
@ Lumiadee, as long as you still have the same number of stitches as at rnd 10 ( that is 120), then that's fine. Unless, you feel the cap is too big. Try it on your model's head and see if it fits. If there is too much space, you could consider loosening rnd 10. And then work with rnd 9. |

zainabromoke:Just check to see if you have mistakenly missed out a st. Or maybe done 2 dc where it should be 1dc. |
zainabromoke:Looks cool! Apparently, the one in the video would have been made with thicker yarn and larger hook. You should look out for gauge when you are making stuff. The gauge tells you the size of yarn and hook to use. And also what dimensions to expect after working a few rows. This will help you adjust your materials accordingly. All the same it is pretty. |
@Lumiadee.
I can see d px now. Bravo! |
zainabromoke:Congrats Girl! I 'm so proud of you! |
Lumiadee:I can't view d px. Try uploading again pls. |
zainabromoke:Sl st. in the "little hole" under the "chain like" top between the ch2 and next dc. I hope it makes sense. |
zainabromoke:Wow, this is so cute! Don't worry about whether it is flat or not. As long as you have 24 dcs at the end of rnd 2, that's Ok. It will flatten out. Also do not make the stitches very tight. Well done Girl! I love the colour combo. |
tatacherie:Ok. You could do rnd 8. And don't worry if it goes over a little. Babies do grow rapidly anyway. So after Rnd 8, you can start doing the side. Well done! |
Lumiadee:Thanks for spotting that out. Please follow what is on the pattern I.e ch2, 1dc... I should correct that anyway. Actually the px I put up is not for a cap. It is actually for something else. Will correct that now. Many thanks,. |
@ Trublvr. Your works are WOW! And thanks for the links. I joined ravelry and lionbrand sometime ago. Picot too has amazing lace works with chart patterns. |
tatacherie:After Rnd 7, flatten your work on a table. Measure circumference with a tape to see if you are close to 16". It doesn't have to be exactly 16". But anything close will do since the cap will expand anyway. |
For those running ahead, TUTORIAL 5 continues with how to do the side of your cap. To the rest of the class, don't fret. We will all get there.

@ Trublvr,
You are welcome to post any helpful links. Thanks in advance. |
