Different scientists have also emphatically stated that the current impact from the virus wouldn't have being much felt if the breakout hadn't started out around the winter period. They say the wheather would have at least helped limit the level of impact on humans. ...again, Google is ur friend !!

And by the way, ur argument that the virus started out late in Africa holds no water. ...because there are also some European and Asian countries where the virus got in after it was recorded in a few African countries, but where cases are now far more than the said African countries.

EGYPT was the 1st African nation to witness the virus on the 15th of February, 4 days before IRAN witnessed their 1st case on the 19th, and weeks before a few countries in Europe(Sweden etc) and Latin America recorded their 1st case. Brazil reported it 1st case on the 26th of Feb.
Today all of those countries have far more positive cases and lower recovery rate than EGYPT. This is even when most of these countries have more sophisticated Medicare system in place than Africa.(with IRAN much worse)

...u probably don't understand why Ghana recorded just 9 deaths with 99% recovery rate and have since opened up their economy.

If you stay in your house and nobody comes to your house, you can’t get the virus. Not only that if you have it you can’t spread it. Nigerians must stop being short term thinkers and start to see beyond their noses. What is the point of going to work only to get the virus and die? I have already told you, now is the time for Nigerians to be their brothers keepers and for the haves to support the have nots. To end the lockdown will result in thousands of not millions dying because of this thing blows up we don’t have the medical infrastructure to treat people. Neither do we have the infrastructure to contain it if it gets out of hand.

Everybody is suffering both rich and poor. We must all take our medicine and use the time to reflect on What kind of country we want in future.

Bro, sacrificing the economy short term is our best chance of our recovery long term. The entire world is suffering, even Saudi Arabia whose economy is more dependent on oil is doing their best to flatten their curve. The impact of this pandemic will bite way harder than oil prices cos right now nobody is buying oil. Just a few days ago the US oil sold below 0$ the first time in history. Lockdown or not we will still sink into recession.

Oil prices are physical issues that can be remedied by production cuts (which OPEC already agreed to BTW) but you see this covid-19, it's an invisible enemy even your daddy GO cant fight.

The US has tested over 4 million persons. Still their health experts have said until the US have enough testing capabilities to test everyone the economy shouldn't be opened.

Our government is fighting this the wrong way. Either ways, the economy suffers. Lift the lockdown now and we will see the resurgence and massive increase of confirmed cases and because of our poor testing ability, more persons will get infected really fast and same economy you're trying to protect now will suffer more then.

Let's not even forget the current struggle with falling oil prices. If we survive this we have bigger issues to worry about.

My take is, this lockdown should stay until we are sure we can test more persons.

You see when this lockdown started, after following cases of Italy,USA,Spain etc carefully I decided to be proactive. I shut my doors to visitors & neighbours( a lot got very offended despite my careful explanation, again I didn't give a hoot) The question remains how effective has this lockdown been? our culture of hugging/visiting will soon come to hunt us even more. People are roaming Streets as if nothing is happening or the virus is a ruse for the elites to loot us dry? Utterly preposterous assumption!
My earnest hopes and prayer is that our folly/indiscretion doesn't cause us to battle a pandemic that will forever remain a sobering and painful reminder of the price you pay when you are outright FOOLISH

There is no catch 22 anywhere. Extend the lockdown for as long as necessary even if it is 3 months. During that period people and government must pull together to feed to poor during this period.

any community contact with everybody going to their normal daily activities might speak doom for the citizens. the best approach is to distribute palliatives genuinely to everyone in the affected states in the country then shut down this states for a week and you will see how this will come to an end
