Investment › Re: Buying Land Or Keeping The Money In Bank by YoshihideSuga: 1:09pm On Jun 04 |
franchasofficia: Buying land is no longer as profitable as in the past. It's no longer a profitable investment, all thanks to Bola Tinubu's directionless government, yes I said so.
Lands no longer appreciate in value in Nigeria now compared to some years back. Except lands in choiced locations in cities like: Lagos and Abuja.
Instead of land, use that money to buy iron rod, it doesn't spoil and it adds value everyday in Bola Tinubu's shattered Nigeria.
Building materials are now costlier than land unlike before that you can use 25million to build a good duplex, today, you will buy land for 40million and use 140million to build the house, it was never like this before APC came to power. Dede, What do you of building materials importation? And from your vast knowledge, what are the materials that sell faster, aka hot cakes? |

shortgun: Men in relationship and marriage have a lot of work to do on the psychology of their women. Men who assume their women will always act like responsible adults and make wise decisions often end up learning difficult lessons. True, because a lot of women act and behave like babies! I used to take them as adults who should know what to do, but apparently, they're not so. |

concho: Everything that has been said above is true . I have had marriage list from the family of my Akwaibom girlfriend for 1 year plus now .
Everything in the list can start a standard supermarket. Even with 4m , you will still be begging. To even think that I paid 50,000 cash to collect the list is the most annoying part . Even her brothers can not fulfill one page of the items in that list I think the bold is a good way to assess the acceptability of bride price. If her brothers cannot afford the items on the list, I won't perform any or I would choose what to perform. |

S UkoAnnang:

Op kindly single out these tribes in Akwa. Don't say Akwa Ibom in general.
We have many tribes in Akwa Ibom and this nonsense here is not applicable to my Annang tribe.
In Annang tribe cohabitation is prohibited. if a man must live together with a woman, then he must pay her bride price.
Note, in our tradition, bride price is not expensive, in some family bride price is not more than ₦100, while some is as low as ₦10, ₦20 and ₦50 with a bottle of dry gin.
For the father 1. Tobacco 2. Walking stick 3. One traditional wear with strikes of lions or tiger heads (what we call uko ekpe). This wear signify the strength of a traditional Annang man. 4 a traditional Annang cap
For the the mother. 1. One length of wrapper 2. A bag of salt 3. A smaller basin of crayfish 4 one umbrella. 5. 1 stick of dry fish
For the general house 1. 2 cartons of beer 2. 2 create of soft drinks 3. 1 create of malt 4. Football 5. 5. Packet of Cigarette. 6. 1 red and white chalk (usei) 7 1 bottle of dry gin 8. small fishes 9. 1 female goat (this is only applicable if the bride is the first daughter of the family)
The palm wine for the events is to be provided by the father in-law. After drinking the palm wine, the son in-law can put anything or even return the cup empty to the father in-law. We are not like our eastern neighbours who demand for dollars before the cup could be returned back
With what its listed a man can marry a woman, if the man is incapable to afford these items, his kins men can do so in his behalf.
Therefore the the issue of cohabitation is impossible in my tribe. So the prospective son in-law cannot pay bride price of mother in-law.
Also note that, in our traditional Annang land, if a man refuses to pay his woman bride price, the family of the woman will not accept anything from him, be it food, drink, money, kola, water. The mother of the woman is prohibited from visited her daughter while in such marriage. These make it more difficult for a man and woman to cohabit in my tradition
OP next time make ur research well and single out the tribe involved in some abominable tradition before thunda faya u This one is already blaming Igbos as if Igbos penned the article. |

Kaido: This thinking is archaic and absurd. No wonder Igbo men die earlier in marriage due to stress.
Marriage is a business partnership. Share both the financial and other responsibilities Lol Such cannot work with most Nigerian men, let alone Igbo men raised in the East. The current arrangement fits both parties. The problem is that many Igbo men marry women with too many siblings, and as a result, are compelled or cajoled to take care of their wives' siblings. Also, they go on to have too many children while relying on their incomes. |

EmmyMaestro: No sex before marriage, ok no problem. But during marriage, a lot of women will only have sex with their husbands when they feel like or will completely starve their husbands of sex This is where it really gets unfair and a major loss on the man's side. No sex before marriage only to be starved of it inside marriage. Omo, such men are trying. |

Irony1: The fact that you said you are a northerner shows you to be a liar. Several posts of yours in the past indicates you to be Yoruba. GRV has never at any tine supported IPOB, he only condemned the bad behavior of his people which is honorable to do so. Again him marrying an igbo person and you highlighting it as an issue shows uour hypocrisy, afterall ST's wife is Lebanese-igbo too. Again even Davido has pandered his igbo roots too and so it is no crime to do so, if his inlaws give him a title and he brags about it should that be a problem to you, unless you have existing hatred for the tribe where he has his roots. That Stuff moniker isn't any northerner. The dude hates Igbos with a venom. These are the miscreants who call Elon Musk and Donald Trump racists🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

airsaylongcome: So first off, I'm not Igbo so don't bring that bile my way. Secondly you are shifting the goalpost in the middle of the game. The person I replied to said and I quote: "Gbadebo Patrick's [b]mummy's[\b] name is Mrs Nkechi...". They did not say Gbadebo is half Igbo. Categorically said his mother is Igbo. The person also, in his example said his mother (the commenter) was Igbo. So in that respect the person is the same with Rhodes-Vivour, both maternally Igbo. Good? Good. That person then beers off in a tangent comparing his attempt to be a Governor in his mother's state, to Rhodes-Vivour attempt to be a Governor in his father's state. How are those similar? You are playing ostrich by saying "half Igbo" trying to obfuscate that the original example was the commenter say Rhodes mother is Igbo. What you are insinuating is akin to saying Seyi Tinubu children cannot govern Lagos because their mother is Igbo. Bunkum on nonsense. Rhodes-Vivour is Lagosian and has the right to run for Governor of Lagos. Just like anyone who's dad is Anambra, has the right to run for Governor of Anambra. Do not try to be clever by half and say "half-Igbo" or "half-yoruba". Aregbesola was commissioner in Lagos. When it was time to run for Governor, did you guys allow him run in Lagos? Or did you not send him back to Osun? You're trying to make sense to an APC supporter? That's akin to having pigs fly. 🤣🤣 I'm glad that they're fighting themselves with a weapon they created. In the coming years, many more Yorubas with Igbo mothers in Lagos and the wider region will be affected. |

Uptheante: Are you referring to my reply regarding the issue of trafficking of girls? Yes. I got the last mention which you stated Taraba girls rarely travel outside to engage in prostitution. But it seems you replied to this comment and it was hidden: YoshihideSuga: Benue state is a poor state with poor men. But then, Igbo men are richer than Benue men, yet Igbo women dominate the sex workers trade.
Did you meet these girls or the girl in question in Benue? When please? Those prices are dirt cheap, but highly risky. It means Benue and to an extent southern Kaduna and Plateau girls would dominate the sex trade in Abuja.
Yes, I strongly believe the girl in question is infected. Benue is in the top three states of people living with HIV in Nigeria. Women harbour for a long time more STIs and can contact them easily than men.
The love of sex has to be cultural. Some cultures are so sexually liberal. But why Ghana? I even saw Ivory Coast. Dem sabi French so? |

Crime › Re: Plateau Government Arrests Pregnant Woman For Trafficking Three Girls To Ghana by YoshihideSuga: 6:27am On Feb 24 |
Uptheante: Taraba girls are not known for travelling out for prostitution, not that they are saints.
Most prostitutes are from Benue state, then few from Plateau state (talking about northern Nigeria). More southern girls are into prostitution sha
In the case of Benue state, it seems their girls naturallylove sex not just because of money. They are the cheapest prostitutes in Nigeria & can Bleep for as low as 1k in some places. Some of them are beautiful, so you will wonder why such a beautiful girl is shamelessly sleeping around with all manner of riffraffs & hooligans for peanuts. I was once making research about prostitution & I questioned one of them, a beautiful girl about her price & she told me she collects 1.5k for short time with condom & 4k without condom.
I was shocked that a prostitute can agree to have raw sex with strangers for as low as 4k, not minding if the stranger has HIV or hepatitis or any other deadly incurable disease. More shockingly, the area where she & her cohorts prostitute is highly endemic for HIV & hepatitis.
I concluded that it's either she's already infected or she's playing Russian roulette with her life because of greed for money Benue state is a poor state with poor men.
