PoliticsRe: Bashir Ahmad: If Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Runs For President, I Will Support Her by YoshihideSuga: 1:45am On Feb 26, 2025
If there's any Igbo man who can garner support from the north, it should be Rochas. But alas, they used him to fund so many educational projects yet nothing comot. He even gave them huge lands in Imo to settle yet nothing came out. A woman cannot be Nigeria's president in the next decade. So Ngozi is out of it. Lastly, it's ridiculous to take the rants of someone who threatened civil war because of hike in petrol prices during Jonathan's tenure.

Here is the truth.
IBB was right, Abacha annulled 1993 Presidential election because Abacha was Northern political elites/Mafias' endorsed butcher, reason Buhari adored him so much more than anything on earth because Buhari too was an unforgiven sadist.
Northern Nigeria Mafias replaced Abacha with Buhari, they love Moslem extremists, and Buhari was a perfect Moslem extremist, reason Buhari enjoyed cult-like followership in the North, not because of his good character or good leadership qualities but because he was a radical Moslem ready to kill for Islam and to defend the Northerm Moslem interest at all cost.

Northerners don't like IBB just as they don't like Atiku because both IBB and Atiku are not radical Moslems, and they leaned towards Southern lifestyle of libelism.

IBB was right, Abacha annulled the 1993 election with Northern political elites/mafias backing and IBB was handicapped to act against Abacha's decision because Northerners backed Abacha's decision and were ready to even assassinate IBB if he dared challenge the decision to annul the 1993 Presidential election that MKO Abiola won.
If these core northerners didn't want to see a Yoruba man govern, why did they kick against Jonathan in 2015? Also, why did they allow another prominent Yoruba man to become president in 2023? Someone who is way wealthier, cunning and influential than Abiola?

I do not kow why you guys like turning learning opportunities into foolish outbursts. International trades are high volume, high ticket activities. Believe me, you do not want it to be at the point of export you want to find out something as basic as if it is legal or not. By then a lot of money would have gone down the drain.

Since the article itself did not mention if it is among items allowed to export or not, I put the question out there for someone with real practical knowledge to confirm or deny, not this yeye outburst you are doing.
It's actually legal to export palm oil out of Nigeria. And yes, I'm right in questioning your thought process that because we don't have enough palm oil in Nigeria, then it shouldn't be exported. Cocoa is exported from Nigeria, but the demand by Nigerians outstrips the supply.

The first question should be, is it even legal to export palm oil, since we are presently unable to meet local demand and sometimes have to even import
So because we cannot meet the demand in Nigeria, we shouldn't export?

And why should exporting palm oil be illegal?

That's not true. Nigeria is the world's biggest producer of cassava. Thailand is the biggest exporter of processed cassava.

There's nothing wrong with exporting a product even if the demand is very high in the country.

TravelRe: I Want To Return Back To Nigeria From UK Permanently by YoshihideSuga: 9:12am On Jan 31, 2025
Daddyboy21:
good move, but remember that the money you will bring from the UK will Eventually run dry if you don't setup a business here in Nigeria. On that note let me introduce you to Haulage and logistics business. I have over
10years experience in Haulage and logistics so you can call me a logistics consultant now. I will not like to mention the name of the company I work with for now for now as you will conduct your own background check on me and the company I work for if you accept my proposal. It's a Chinese logistics company. I manage over 250 trucks, 250 drivers and 250 motor boys. Mechanics, technicians and more. I procure trucks, truck parts, diesel in large storage tanks and More. I know the operational aspect of the business and also the business part of the business. Let me just put it this way, if you buy a truck in January, that truck will give you another truck by January the next year. if there is no accident and there is proper management. All the mistakes and lessons in truck business I have learned them all both In the hard way or the soft way so you are coming in as a free man now cos I already paid the price. I grew this company from 50trucks to 250trucks in 6 years, we started in Abia state but now we have opened Lagos, Kano and Abuja logistics parks all thanks to my effort and God's grace. The Chinese man has drilled me so much in the business that he now has confidence in me, I am the first Nigerian to manage a Chinese company branch in that company, it's not an easy task. I have made so much money for Chinese and have served them well, now I think it's time I start my own, but there is no funds and no investor. I have been looking for investors to start a logistics and Haulage company with but its hard for people who don't know you to trust you with their funds, worst of all a Chinese man that has no trust. I am proposing to you a logistics and Haulage business for a 15% to 20% share in the company. I will set up the park as I have done that in three different states, call back the best performing drivers with no accident record, good truck mentainace history and no record of stealing diesel in my current company to the new company which we will open, bring the best of mechanics from my current company as most of them have proposed that if I leave the company, where ever I work they will follow me. I will advise you as I advised the Chinese man, Buy a CNG truck not a diesel truck. Today we have over hundred CNG trucks and they make 3times of what diesel truck makes.
The analysis of a truck that use diesel and the one that uses CNG ( compressed natural gas)
For diesel truck: let's say you collect Lagos to Kano job ( might be container job or any load)
Job price = 2.8million. the truck will consume an average of 1000 litres of diesel for a round trip. Cost of diesel 1200 per litter 1200 × 1000 = #1,200,000
Road experience and driver dispatch=150,000
Total cost = #1,350,000
#2,800,000 - #1,350,000 = #1,450,000
This is the profit you will get ( note with my connection all over Nigeria in Haulage business I will still give you a return load to Lagos. Lagos to Kano is more expensive than Kano to Lagos)
Let's say the return load is #1,500,000 take out road expenses of let's say #100,000. What you now have is #1,400,000
Total profit for a round trip will be #1,450,000 + #1,400,000 = #2,850,000. A good driver will do 4trips in a month some more than that if they load them and upload them quickly. ( I already have this type of drivers in my current company so no need to stress yourself to get one)
Monthly income: #2,850,000 × 4 ( considering one trip per week) = #11,400,000
As it is new truck or direct Belgium it won't cost you much for mentainace. Let's say you spend 2million for mentainace ( I doubt it can will be up to this for a new truck but for the sake of analysis let's stick with this figure)
Income - expenditure #11,400,000 - #2,000,000 = #9,400,000.
This is a rough analysis for a diesel truck. Monthly income. This is just for one truck. Multiply this by the number of trucks you will buy to start the business

For CNG truck: Lagos to kano.
CNG is sold per Scm (standard cubic meter)
For normal cars it's #200 per Scm, for truck ist sold #240 to 260 per scm depending where you get it from, but we will use #250 per Scm
They are 8 cylinders and 16cylinder CNG truck. I will advice you to get the 16cylinder as the CNG Stations are not much like filling stations
Full 8cylinder consist of 200scm so 200scm will fill the tank for 16cylinder truck it's 400scm.
For a 16cylinder truck with 400scm :
400scm × #250 = #100,000 you will fill this an average of 3times for a round trip
So that will be #100,000 × 3 = #300,000
Given the same drivers dispatch and road expenses you of #150,000 for a go trip and #100,00 return trip. Total expenses will be #300,000 + #150,000 + #100,000 = #550,000 if we make this a round figure, let's say #600,000
If we still maintain the same job price of #2,800,000 then we can take out the round trip expenditure at once from here. That is #2,800,000 - #600,000 = #2,200,000
If we mentain the same job price of #1,500,000 for a return trip then we use the same analysis.
#2,200,000 + #1,500,000 = #3,700,000
Monthly ROI : #3,700,000 × 4 = #14,800,000
Repair and mentainace = 2,000,000 ( it can not be up to this amount for a new or Belgium truck, this is just rough estimate)
Income - expenditure #14,800,000 - #2,000,000 = #12,800,000
Difference between Diesel truck and CNG
12,800,000 - #9,400,00 = #3,400,000
a very large margin of profit.
This is just for one truck. Multiply this by the number of trucks you will buy to start the business.

(this is why I will advise you buy a CNG truck instead of diesel truck) the same advice I gave my Chinese boss now they are smiling to the bank now.
I did not include staffs or driver salary on this. Note: business is sweet on paper but the physical aspect of it is very demanding. If I tell you the only the good side and not the bad and ugly side then I am not a good business man. We have learned this the hard way for years and I can boldly say we have overcome almost all of them.
These are the risk involved.
(1) drivers will sell diesel thereby running shortage to the company ( we have overcome this by (1) test running all our route with me inside the truck to determine exactly how much diesel to give a driver for a certain distance in kilometers and tonnage of load carried. (2) we invited a representative from Howo truck company from China to give us the load per kilometer rate and it works exactly like the one I tested in (1) above
(3) we have converted and still converting all our trucks from diesel to cng, we are almost through with the conversation so this problems have been solved.

(2) some driver have the mind to run away with a full truck with load inside thereby plunging the company into deep loss cos the company will still pay the owner of the goods.
We have overcome this by (1) insurance, insuring the truck and the goods in transit.
(2) putting two GPS tracker on the truck. The one the driver will see and the one they will not see. There is a new GPS that looks like a coin, memory card etc. Very tiny and it is magnetic. You can even put it near the engine open the roof and put it, the seat or anywhere. ( While we were still new in the business and a new driver ran away with the truck he disconnected the tracker which he believes was the only one but from GPS we caught him in Benin Republic, he was sentence to 25years in jail.
(3) as I earlier stated, I know very good and trust worthy drivers who I will eject from my current company to join us

(3) accident: you all know about this and how fatal a truck accident can be, bikes, cars, boat, ships and Aeroplane do have accident. Throughout my years in the company we have only 4 accident out of 250trucks. We have a camera inside the vehicle, outside the vehicle, behind The vehicle and at the back, when the video was all played back, 3 we're due to drunk driving and was one due to brake failure. The accidented trucks have all been revived and are all working now. To curb this we came out with certain solutions (1) I conduct general road worthiness checks on all the trucks every month
(2) if you drink on duty, there is no explanation, I will fire you and get the truck keys immediately when you return from your journey we don't tolerate nonsense
(3) if they return to the yard the mechanics must check their brakes wether they say it is working or not, it must be tested. The Chinese man has fired 6 drivers who insisted the mechanics should not check the breaks, since then all of them don comport themselves if they come back from a journey na straight to workshop.
Sir since you are in the UK, Daf trucks are relatively cheap in the UK. But I am very good with Howo and Shacman trucks cos that's what we are using in our company now. Please if you are interested, don't buy single axle (six tyre) but buy double Axle (10 tyres) as they have more power and rugedity to pull more loads. If you can cross over from UK to China to buy Howo( they are cheaper in China).

I will stop here for now as I don't know wether you will be interested or not. If you are interested please call or watsapp me on +2349021738517 . If any other person aside from the poster is ready and willing to Invest in the business you can also reach out to me. You will do all the background checks on me and my company, verify every datails, get your lawyer and I will get mine then we start a duly registered company. Please note I am looking at a 6 to 10year or a lifetime partnership. By the end of 6 or 10years, we can decide to sign another contract if you still want us to be partners. All I ask for is 15% to 20% share in the company. We can renegotiate upward or downward and come to an agreement. Thank you and God bless you all.
I'm not OP, but I would re-look at your numbers closely and contact you at a later date.

Thank you.

Krucifax:
OP pay no mind to the negative scary comments the majority are from youngings who don't understand the subject matter.
There are many of us in similar circumstances. I've been in the U.K for 20+ years. Many of my contemporaries are either going back or planning to go back. I too am planning to go back to Nigeria but here are some useful pointers for you as i have more experience than many.

-Moving back is a process that will take a few years if planned properly
-You need to choose a good location. Abuja is number 1. Lagos is number 2
-You need to sort out a bank account
-You need to sort out your BVN
-You need to sort out your NIN
-You need to sort out your driver's license
-You need to sort out accomodation.
-You need to sort out transportation.
-Also ensure you can still access your U.K pension after all your years of hardwork
-Keep your U;K credit card handy
-Arrange it so you are kind of in between the two places.(There are many reasons for this )
-Ensure you still maintain a U.K address(even if its a care of address where they collect your mmail(very important)
-You need a small network of people you can trust a bit. They will help you with errands, information and low level types of advise(where to buy things etc).
-Download the JIJI Nigeria app. Its free. This is a treasure trove of information and statistics. Tells you average price of things, house, cars, generator, rent etc amongst many other things.
-If you have the funds and wish to buy a house sites like NigeripropertyCentre.com is probably the best for house hunting.
-You need to sort out income generation. This is the most difficult part (and why we all left Nigeria in the first place). I can't tell you what to do here as it's personal to each person.

This is a recommended way:

=Go back to Nigeria for an extended holiday first. Say 3-6 weeks (employer/business permitting)
=Sort out the first few pointers i mentioned.
=Do your feasibility studies on where you'd like to live and things you'd like to do.
=Come back to the U.K. and restrategise.
=Try not to be guided by emotion
=Then start relocating in phases 2-3 Months blocks then return(it,ll be an essential learning curve)
=Be clear about what you want and why you're doing it
For the some people in the UK the reasons are (tired of the bad weather,no social life,no meaningful relationships, missing friends and family, becoming disillusioned with life as a coloured minority and 2nd class citizen, high taxes, racism, reaslising your potential can never be achieved here, knowing retirment age poverty is a near certainty, knowing getting on the property ladder is nigh impossible, knowing that even if you get on the property ladder its a scam due to high initial deposit requirements, knowing that even if you got on the property ladder you may be paying for it till your 70s or dead, wanting a change of environment, hatred of local goverment policy, hatred of central government policy, relationship failure, spouse taking your children, spouses taking your house, rubbish food the list goes on and on.

On your penultimate question of how much is needed. This is impossible to honestly answer. It's like asking how much do i need to live throughout life. You need to make a list of things you need to spend money on. Then another list of the things you need first and those you can get later. That list will guide you on required funds. Then add 10-30% on top for contingencies and unplanned expenses as they also follow like night follows day.

I wish you good luck but know that youre not alone. There's a long line of us Nigerian/Brits marching to the exit door.
Thank you for this detailed explanation. It will come handy in the coming years.

Best wishes to you too!

PoliticsRe: The North Will Determine If President Tinubu Gets A Second Term by YoshihideSuga: 6:47am On Jan 26, 2025
franchasofficia:
You are not entirely correct. You are being intentionally bias and callous in your opinion.

After the civil war ended in 1970, Northern Nigeria and Southwest entered into a secret political alliance/agreement never to allow Igbos near power; be it Presidency, military, Police, Judiciary, etc as a way of keeping them away from making another attempt of seceding from Nigeria. That was why they never appointed an Igbo man CJN or COAS or IGP, except the Igbos from Niger Delta who saw the handwriting on the wall and started to deny and distance themselves from Southeast Igbos so as not to limit themselves politically and in civil service in Nigeria after the civil war.

From there, Northern Military guys held sway in Nigeria unchallenged because it was Igbos that kept them at bay, with Igbos now defeated after the civil war, they had no challenger or threat again, Yorubas are good in pretentious worship and followership to get what they want, so they followed the North judiciously as these Northern Military guys used the opportunity to balkanize Old Eastern Nigeria and only the super corrupt Igbo politicians who damned the consequences and joined them in holding Igbos down were exalted to federal political limelight, making it seem like Igbos lacked quality politicians.

Infrastructures in Southeast were neglected, crude oil sites in Southeast were ceded to neighboring Southsouth states like Rivers, Akwa Ibom just to make sure Southeast remained economically defeated.

Every tangible federal government agency, bodies, infrastructure were being concentrated in Lagos, Abuja and few in Portharcourt to spite Igbos as they made sure they created an identity crises and enmity between Niger Delta Igbos and Southeast Igbos.

All these and more made Southeast a forgotten region despite Igbo peoples resilience. It was mostly on self development and community development headed by Igbo sons who managed to breakthrough abroad and outside Southeast via trade, business and industry that Southeast region and communities started witnessing progress in road construction, community healthcare, markets, townhall, etc.

This is the beginning of Igbo peoples problem and why Southeast does not have much developmental prospect compared to Southwest, North and Southsouth.

Nigeria is not a manufacturing nation, we are mostly a consuming and import dependent nation, and the most viable seaports were in Southwest and Southsouth which the Northern Military guys made sure they destroyed the Southsouth seaports viability to sabotage Igbos and gradually Lagos ports became the all in all, making it compulsory for every serious business person in Nigeria to site his business in Lagos as those critical government infrastructures, agencies and embassies concentrated in Lagos, so you need to site your business close to the market and where there is population to patronize you.

From the overpopulation happening in Lagos, it began to trickle down to Ogun state the neighboring state, down to Oyo naturally. This was how Southwest became the epicenter of trade and commerce in Nigeria till date and now it's not going to be easy to dismantle unless Nigeria completely disintegrates and that is why Yorubas abhor the idea of Nigeria dividing even though some of them dont like Fulani people and their violent ways and political dominance, but they prefer a united Nigeria where they still use cunning and treacherous politics of gangup to outshine the Southeast than have their own independent nation which they fear of its future.
now
You are very correct about the bold. But I wonder why they fear an independent Biafra? It would favour everyone to have their own country.
