Starboy record boss and frontline act, Ayodeji Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, has announced his intention to quit music temporarily.

The “Fever” crooner took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, to announce that he would be taking a much-deserved rest till March, 2019.

Wizkid, who did not reveal the reason for his intended break, uploaded on Twitter a video of him having fun with his crew members with the caption: “Gone till March! Thank you”.

Meanwhile, Wizkid has revealed his one target for the year 2019.

The singer, in a chat with Sahara TV after his ‘VIP Experience’ concert at Eko Convention Centre, said he had an amazing year in 2018, noting that he plans to make more money in 2019.

Asked what his plans for 2019 were, the Starboy records boss simply responded: “More money, gbayi“.

The Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani has reacted on the decision taken by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to participate in the forthcoming general election, despite being on strike.

Senator Shehu Sani on Twitter, described the decision of ASUU as commendable, adding that it was a “sacrifice and a patriotic act.”

“ASUU’s decision to participate in the upcoming general elections despite the strike is commendable.Its a sacrifice and a patriotic act,” he tweeted.

The management of Bowen University, Iwo, on Thursday said it has expelled no fewer than twenty nine students and suspended twenty six students indefinitely, for involving in anti-social behaviours.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has reached an agreementto participate in the 2019 general election at a meeting between the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and officials of the union in Abuja.

At the end of the meeting, ASUU president, Biodun Ogunyemi confirms that they had a good meeting with INEC members. He noted that ASUU placed on record that our relationship with INEC dated back to 2010 of the former ASUU president, Attahiru Jega was chairman.

After 2 years in that position, HMO who is the eldest son of the late Justice Muritala-Okunola, was appointed as the PA to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the then Executive Governor of Lagos State at the age of 31 years.

Raising steadily in the service like an helium filled balloon, HMO at age 33 was appointed the Executive Secretary to the Governor, Land Use and Allocation Committee, a very lucrative position, taking over from the now Senator Gbenga Ashafa who had moved on to become the Permanent Secretary Land Bureau; 6 years afterwards in 2011 at age 39, he again took over from the same Gbenga Ashafa, as the Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau, under the Babatunde Raji Fashola administration.

It was from this position which he held till August 4, 2015, that he was redeployed and transferred to the Youths and Sports Ministry in Lagos State as the Permanent Secretary by the Akinwunmi Ambode administration.

Born in January 1972, HMO will be celebrating his 47 birthday as probably the youngest Head of Service to be appointed in Lagos State.

He is an alumni of the University of Lagos where he got his Bachelors (LLB) in law and then also Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London, where he got his Masters in Business Law. He passed out of the Nigerian Law School in 1995.

So, the University of Ibadan, at 70, the nation’s premier, will now act the proverbial lamp lacking the capacity to see own underside? What has happened to all the promises of the supposed progress made in peace and conflict studies for which it has no rival in Nigeria? What has happened to the impression it keeps flaunting to the world on the rare capacity of the peace and conflict studies team? Is the University of Ibadan no longer part of the SPSP which is the exclusive preserve of peace and conflict scholars and practitioners? What has happened to all the exposure and collaborations? How can hijab haters be allowed to make a mess of Africa’s foremost peace scholars and practitioners?

A student, identified as Yusuf Nurudeen(Omomeewa) has given an analytical critique of the rising slogan among Nigerian students, NO LECTURE NO VOTE, which is a reaction to the on going ASUU strike and the failure of the federal government to resolve with ASUU leaders after several meetings.
