Only effective way of intercepting it is during the booster stage on the enemies territory so the fall out can be on their soil, and this is practically impossible. This is why the US kept defense system in every planet to be able to stop it during booster stage.

In all, there’s no easy way to stop a nuclear missile, its not about air defense system it’s about when and how.

A lot of modern bombs don’t bring the explosive parts near each other, known as arming, until there are about to land, to make sure that nothing goes wrong during the launch or the flight, air defense missiles intercept a missile using radar, I never said it will be intercepted in the cities or territories, it can be intercepted midway without igniting, that is not even the issue it also difficult to stop one most especially the hypersonic missiles which is recently nuclear capable which would hit any target before its even detected….. all what I’m saying is that stopping a nuclear missile is difficult but better than landing on it’s target

The only way he can use planes to drop Nuclear bombs is if there is an air assault on the defences prior.

Before he reaches the target he will be shot down.

If there is an assault on Alaska, it is immediate war versus USA and Canada with NATO coming later.

If Putin decides to go Nuclear, his only option is ICBMs and a lot of it.

And he should be assured that immediately he launches it, Moscow and other Russian cities will become waste lands. If he cannot intercept HIMARS, he will definitely not intercept USA ICBM.

Already there are UK and US submarines in the sea waiting for the order to launch their nuclear weapons on Russia.

Putin will not be MAD to that extent. NATO should call Russia's bluff, go into Ukraine and push Russia out of it in totality.

If both nations has a good air defense system there is no nuclear missile would land so stop saying Russia won’t be able to intercept a USA ICBM

For a nuke to land any air defense enabled city or nations then you have to take out the air defense system first
