I will always say it, Nairaland is a great place to be. I am very proud of all these great, amazing and fabulous people here. I am touched by your kind words and words of encouragement. Within a couple of days, I have become stronger and wiser. Thanks to all the great people of Nairaland. He and other such selfless Nairalander make me feel so proud to be a member of this great forum. That kind of thread is meant for who? It is for ‘small pikin’ like me. My dear e-uncles and e-aunts, we the younger ones are looking up to you for inspiration, direction, guidance and all other things that will make us transit from ‘small pikins’ and kids to responsible adults. Alas, some of you (minority, indeed tiny minority) failed miserably in that direction. It is not the duty of we small pikins to tell you how to behave. It is you who are supposed to correct us when we misbehave.
I keep saying it, Nairaland is a great place. Somebody has offered to mentor me! Isn’t that a great privilege? I tell you something: I will grab it with both hands. It is because of my membership of Nairaland. Take for instance, the thread I quoted above, won’t you rebuke us as unserious pikins if we don’t take advantage of it. Please mentor us. As somebody was counseling me here, don’t do drugs, don’t watch porn. That is what we want from you. I took the advice with all gladness. Tell us not to go to Romance section (I don’t visit such places because this is not the time for that; I have never had a bf, and I am OK with that). Get your acts together so that you can earn our respect. We the small pikins read some of the horrible and irresponsible things that you spew out, which we even think is beneath us. Once again, I am pleading on behalf of the ‘small’ pikins’ with all humility that you should put your acts together. Resolve that gutter language and uncouth manner will not be found among you again.
Which one will you prefer I do? Visit boyfriend(s), and engage in irresponsible acts and engage in “girls’ talk’ and waste my life. I choose to be a responsible pikin. Instead of staph, gonorrhea and unwanted pregnancy, I get mentored (and for free) and get to ‘meet’ amazing people such as PaulPaulPaul, SeyiAyorinde, and countless others.
