if u ve got the regular gsd (straight backs) too bad ure not gonna get a decent offer. slant backs are more in demand and expensive than a straight back. u can't compare a straight back to mastiff dem, they ain't equivalent.

you can try out cheese balls ( that is sold for 10naira, the one children eat) I have not tried it before, but i have watched a friend's video of him and his GSD's obedience class, and I saw how crazy the dog was about the treat used upon further enquiries, he told told it was Cheese balls
@Op, I luv your write up. your day one reminds me of a kennel I visited in Ibadan (Dogbreath Kennel) ... the ceo happened to be one of my brother's childhood friend. he has 4 dogs (2 brindle boerboels, one German Shepherd, and a rott) however, I have been accepted into into pack upon my day one, but one of the boerboels just won't let me touch her though she has stopped barking at me. but on day one we met, I remember been scared very first tym...I wasn't sure if they stopped barking so I could come within range, and they biting my fingers, so it was a big risk I took, and I'm glad I did. after leaving Dogbreath Ken (haven't spent two days and bonded with the dogs...that was around April 9 this yr,), I still miss all of them till today . can't wait to return there and teach Maya (the brindle boerboel that became my padi) obedience training...but the problem I have is that she is too active and full of energy, so gettin her to calm is a big challenge. I remember when I wanted to feed dem and she was going crazy, I tried to delay a little for her to calm but for where? she became more playful and Almst knocked the pot off my hands as she was leaping here and thr.
I'm sorry for any typo-error and am also sorry for d lengthy post...it was from the abundance of joy within me

Getting maya to calm down would be a devoting task
You have to walk her out daily(if time permits) by doing so,you're exercising the dog's body and making her calm.....I guess she hardly goes out that's why her energy level isn't here......

Teach'n nicky wasn't a hard task because Gsd are always eager to learn
We started with the "sit" command
And for every time she obeys,I always reward her either with affection or threat (meat)

take a meat close to your dog's nose and raise it up slowly,by doing this he begins to lower his waist just to take a nice view at d meat then say "sit" still raising ur hand and watch her sit....when she does that reward her the meat then change position.....gradually she'll start obeying the first command which is sit

When I was little (15 years or thereabout), my dad will
always buy animals from hunters, ranging from dear to
antelope etc. That explains why I like meat today but frown
at drinks and few of my friends will make jest of me for not
drinking like them. So one day he bought the unthinkable: it
was an animal from a hunter at Odekpe and I was told that
this particular animal is called an "idiot". What a name for
this poor creature, I said to myself in disbelief.
I told my dad that I have never seen such an animal before
and I wouldn't like anyone to kill this idiot; he asked why? I
told him about animals going extinct as I was thought in
primary science and then argued that since I have never
seen an idiot before, it means that this animal is going
extinct and should be taken to a zoo.
I was having this conversation with him when the idiot break
loose from the carton where it was kept and all that
gathered to have a glimpse of this weird creature went amok
in a bid to catch it but they end up killing the idiot. The rest
was history in a pot of soup as I became more curious to
check the true meaning of the word, idiot, in the dictionary.
My findings wasn't funny at all, I knew at that moment that
some humans are more idiotic in nature than the innocent
creature they label idiot. That is by the way...

crude oil prizes with the scarcity of petrol in an oil producing
country like Nigeria?
This man, whoever he was and his likes in this social, are
special kind of idiots that deserves to be in a zoo just like
many other idiots in this country who prefer to reason
through the anus. SMH - However, God is in control. Calm
down Nigerians, we gonna survive this. One House!

my MOTHER who has been a Widow for 19 years,
but the demands of my Work and my three Children had
made it possible to visit her only occasionally.
That night I called to Invite her to go out for Dinner and a
Movie.
'What's wrong, are you well,' she asked?
My Mother is the type of Woman who suspects that a Late
Night Call or a Surprise Invitation is a sign of Bad News.
'I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you,'
I responded. 'Just the two of us'
She thought about it for a moment, and then said,
'I would like that very much.'
That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a
bit Nervous.
When I arrived at her House, I noticed that she too seemed
to be Nervous about our Date.
She waited in the Door with her Shawl on.
She had set her Hair and was wearing the Dress that she had
worn to Celebrate her last Wedding Anniversary.
She smiled from a face that was as Radiant as an Angel's.
'I told my Friends that I was going to go out with My Son, and
they were impressed, '
She said, as she got into the Car.
'They can't wait to hear about our meeting'.
We went to a Restaurant that, although not Elegant, was very
Nice and Cozy.
My Mother took my Arm as if She were the First Lady.
After we sat down, I had to read the Menu. Large Print.
Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom
sitting
there staring at me.
A Nostalgic Smile was on her Lips.
'It was I who used to have to Read the Menu when you were
young,'
She said.
'Then it's Time that you Relax and let me Return the Favor,'
I responded.
During the Dinner, we had an Agreeable Conversation,
nothing
Extra-ordinary, but catching up on recent Events of each
others Life.
We talked so much that we missed the Movie.
As we arrived at her House later,
She said, 'I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me
invite you.'
I agreed.
'How was your Dinner Date?' asked My Wife when I got
Home.
'Very Nice. Much more so than I could have Imagined,' I
answered.
A few days later, my Mother died of a Massive Heart Attack.
It happened so suddenly that I didn't have Time to do
anything for her.
Some time later, I received an Envelope with a Copy of a
Restaurant Receipt
From the same place Mother and I had dined.
An Attached Note Said:
'I paid this Bill in Advance.
I wasn't sure that I could be there;
But nevertheless, I paid for Two Plates
One for You and the Other for Your Wife.
You will never know what that night meant to Me.
I Love You, My Son.'
At that moment, I understood the Importance of saying in
Time:
'I LOVE YOU!'
and to give our Loved Ones the Time that they Deserve.
Nothing in Life is more important than God, your Family and
friends.
Give them the Time they Deserve, because these Things
cannot be
