PropertiesRe: Any One Dealing In Kitchen by youngmill(m): 7:31pm On Oct 06, 2009
Why not find someone in Nigeria that can make one and just buy all the handles, knob, inches and other accessories from here. Just make sure the quality of the material used is good.

lawyer:
This thread was opened in 2007 and we are in 2009 and this omonile issue is still waxing stronger than ever in Lagos and i think its about time we start educating ourselves to know how to deal with these people because the bitter truth is that they AINT GOING NO WHERE as long as you want to own a land in Lagos.

Let's share our experiences with them good or bad and learn how to handle them next time we come across them: smiley
I don't think there is anything anyone can do about this unless the government intervene and put a stop to it. I try everything to stop this people in my first project but nothing work and lot of hospital visit. This are very violent people that will stop at nothing except if they are confronted with violence too.
I think Nigeria should follow the example of Ghana and make it illegal to stop this people. it was the same in Ghana to before there government pass the law and took it seriously and things have change ever since.
PropertiesRe: Lagos Lawmakers Disagree Over Tenancy Bill by youngmill(m): 7:55pm On Jul 20, 2009
Everybody keep ignoring one major part, which is if a landlord collect one year rent, his/her tenancy will be one year, and that gives him power to increase his/her rent
every year if he so pleases.
@Pete like your contribution and agreed with you. some of this guys need to focus on the trend instead of passing insult.
@Bac you need to tone it down a bit, must say you do come across as bragging, know you mean well.

AutosRe: RHD To LHD Conversion - The Facts. by youngmill(m): 6:33pm On Mar 01, 2009
promise72:
@ youngmill,

This is not an issue of derailing the thread. The Pro, Siena has given a quote of 1,850 pound. Knowing Nigerian factor really well, very few dealers will chose to go down the route of getting it done properly. Even owners/end users might sometimes balk at the cost (as Mastro indicated). So the question is: Are you prepared to put ur life on the line in hope that its properly done?

There's always an advantage anywhere you live. People in Europe have advantage to in electric appliances (you can buy things and take it home and just use it) We cant do much of that from here. We worry about step down etc. And sometimes it doesnt always work right. But we can ship cars and take it home and start driving the next day, our advantage.  wink

So if you can do it properly, does it worth the gamble.? And for those who say i stand to benefit if recommend US dealers, how about going to other European countries (Germany, France, Belgium) at least they are closer and get ur car there. Do it properly or else  undecided

Shortcuts can sometimes be a bia##  grin
@ Siena,
Sorry for derailing your thread again.

@Promise72,
And if you ask me i think the quote for £1,850 is quite good considering the good work you will get form Siena. And back to your question if i will risk my live on a converted car, well, if it done properly then it not a gamble or risk.

If you ask me. I say contact any US Based dealer (Jenju, Babeisme, et al ) and get ur car trouble free. undecided
The topic is Rhd to Lhd conversion. Why don't you let people that will benefit from it do so instead of derailing the thread.
BusinessRe: Fuel Haulage Business by youngmill(m): 8:26pm On Jan 07, 2009
kizzymack:
@ liliput

if the transport co. is genuine, then go ahead with it, but, i'm surprised that you don't know the details of what you are being offered. I am in the same business and will oblige you with an elaboration.

Costs:
Tank constructuction: 1.2m
Back Axle: 0.8m
Tractor (capable of doing lagos-kaduna weekly): 4.4m

this is how your N6m will be applied.

Now, on the issue of you getting returns of N800k monthly. that is ambitious!!

it is not impossible, but its ambitious. You would make N800k in a month if there are no downtimes on your truck, and this is impossible because trucks always have one issue or the other that must be addressed before they resume work. Now, when you're signing this contract, make sure your lawyer reviews it thouroughly for this caveat, otherwise the transporter will consistently declare downtimes and you will take home circa N300k a month, if they are really nice.

The reason why the transporter can afford to pay you N800k if everything goes well is because they make money on the product you are carrying and they pay you for transportation.

Now, let's assume your truck does Lagos-Kaduna four times monthly (which is above average, it should be more like 3x). transport to kaduna is N300k, less diesel costs, trip allowance for driver, state union dues and you're left with 120k-150k. let's take 150k and multiply it by 4 trips monthly. what is accruable to your truck is 600k. this is the base case scenario. N800k is a stretch, but if you can get it, more grease to your elbows.

you can contact me if you require more info.

all the best.
I was told something similar when i went into the business as well, 600 thousand to be precise. the more realistic figure is 300 thousand if you monitor it properly. fuel haulage may be different.
