I thought ASUU chairman said the licensing of those unions were inconsequential or are they beginning to feel that there might be a massive exodus from ASUU to Conua....

The best thing for ASUU to do right now is to call of the strike, I just hope Buhari approves the agreement made by ASUU and HoR today, at least that will make them call of the strike and will also prevent any kind of migration of lecturers from ASUU to Conua....


If Buhari does not approve it and the court also rejects(even if they accept sef) their Appeal I just pity ASUU...

You see this government as evil and wicked, at least they immediately put a stop to queuing at fuel stations for more than a week just to buy 1 litre of petrol at N600, even at the time when naira had higher value. The same problem that another government couldn't solve for 16 years.
The evil here is ASUU that refused yield to anything and and refused to shift ground despite the fact that its members are dying of hunger and ill health.

Indeed this might stop the strike, but will it end the issue of revitalization, underfunding etc

I think the govt are just tackling the symptoms and not the disease itself

It will solve absolutely nothing, yes Conua itself will sooner or later go on strike, from history nothing like this has ever been a solution, to the govt this is a political game of chess, govt does not want to meet ASUU's demand and ASUU as well will not back now, govt knows it will badly injure their campaign hence their reason for doing this..... This move might/will end the strike sooner but the effect in future might be disastrous but guess what, this useless govt does not care about that future but only of now..

You are right but with the situation of things how many will stand strong, Sir do you know what it means to go 8months without salaries and you have a family to Carter for Their fight is just but the consequences of their actions are just too dire, students have been at home for 8months, beyond the schooling house rents have been wasted as well....


I agree in a struggle some sacrifices have to be made but it's so unfortunate ASUU have refused to make sacrifices from their own end, they are still fighting for 8months Salary they did not work for, who then will pay students for wasted time....

Even the govt has lost/will lose something in the sense that this is a huge disadvantage to their campaigns and chances of being reelected (APC)..

But ASUU are still fighting over ippis and utas, it makes me wonder, are you thee one to dictate how your employers will pay you??

those lecturers will lose noting cos there are jobs waiting for them in any country of their choice

LoL who told you that?? With their old outdated syllabus how will they cope, how many actually genuinely carry out research?? Most of the books this lecturers have are mostly copy and paste from the internet, only a few are exceptions .... If it was that easy most will have done that already, besides remember their families and friends are all here it's not even mentally easy leaving....

If e red, what we'll most likely see is a swift migration from ASUU to Conua, that will be more than them traveling out...

See hunger is a very powerful weapon, and this evil govt will do all they can to utilize it, like I said before, in war you should know when to retreat, it's not weakness, ASUU should have done that after that last round of discussions in August before they went indefinite....

When the govt ordered the schools to reopen about last week, ASUU said schools can reopen but it's members are on strike, now another association in Conua has been created, just watch the massive exodus that will happen from ASUU to Conua if they refuse to call of their strike....

This govt is evil and wicked, I just hope the discussion of the speaker with Buhari will yield positive results...
