PoliticsRe: Annoying Things GEJ/PEJ Apologists Say In Their Defence by Youpele52: 11:22pm On Nov 06, 2014
Sweetlemon:
They are all over the damn place. In our offices, in our neighborhoods, on social networks, everywhere! Torturing us with their low IQed defenses for the first couple and their allies. There are so many things they say in their desperation, or should I say docile-minded states, but the following ones make me want to cry in frustration or lock them up in a room and beat the living shii outta them until their IQs rise several notches up.

1. Other Presidents Were Not Better That GEJ:

Can you imagination that?! (in Giringori's voice and grammar) So just because we have had bad leaders in the past, we should continue having bad leaders and sit, fold our arms and watch while the rest of the world overtake us by 1000 years?
Let me also remind them that never in history have we heard of billions of dollars (not naira o) disappearing from all sections of the economy. Even the Sharia crisis wasn't as violent and as prolonged as what we have now.

2. He's The Best Option Among Other Bad Options for 2015 (The devil we know is better than the angel we don't know syndrome)

Typical Naija mentality. No wonder vision 2020 seems like just a tall dream. Why not? When we have decided to stick with a devil? GEJ has suddenly become the best devil simply because he's a southerner? Oh of course! A bad southerner is better than a strong northerner. We must to support our brother with the last drop of our blood so we can keep those born to rule northerners in check. Abi nau?

3. We shouldn't Criticize Them Because They are Our Father And Mother's Age Mates:

"can you talk to your father/mother like that" "can your mother speak better English?" "can your father be a President?"

It's high time these...... (I lack words to describe them) got it into their heads that Presidents, Governors, etc are not elected to be fathers/mothers. They were elected to work for us and provide the enabling environment where we and our families can thrive in our chosen businesses/careers. even if my mother cannot speak better English, for sweet heaven's sake she ain't no first lady! She ain't representing no Country or State or whatever but herself and our family. So if she's got issues repping our family well, it's our business alone. Gerrit? And hey, if my dad ever becomes President and he starts saying stuff like stealing is not corruption, He is on his own. Oya take that!

4. English Is Not Our Language:

Oya start telling your children's teachers in school to start teaching them in Igbo nau. Please Google 'lingua franca' or 'official language' to understand why Germans, Russians, Chinese, and other non English-speaking country leaders and their first ladies do not speak English at public functions. I no get power.

5. Would You have Done Better As A President?:

Mba o. I would have done trade by bata. Nansense! A company CEO sends out an advertisement for a PA. Someone who can speak 3 languages, write in short hand, high memory retention, etc. Or the owner of a big departmental shopping mall, hotel, recreation center, etc wanting a manager. Why you no ask them to do these things by themselves nau? You see ya dumb sefs?
Secondly, not everybody can be Presidents. Same way law, medicine, engineering, accounting, etc are only for people with the flair, know-how and passion for these things.
So yes, I doubt I have what it takes to lead a country like Nigeria....... and did I tell you I'm contesting?? So please if you can't lead well, park well for someone else who can.

6. His Enemies Vowed to Make Nigeria Ungovernable:

His enemies kwa? Please remind me who the C-in-C is again I don forget. Since when did enemies become more powerful than someone that can wake up one morning and make rules that could make his enemies go bankrupt? Since when did enemies control the police and armed forces? Oh ok. I forgot, maybe you guys mean his village enemies aka African insurance ba? mtcheeeeeeeew! Your dear Presido keeps saying BH are in his govt. Oh so he knows them? What is he doing about them? His enemies are also stopping him from providing social amenities, employment opportunities, etc for us abi? they control the federal purse shey? How come his enemies did not stop him from budgeting N1B for his feeding or the numerous presidential cars and jets he has added to his fleet?

7. It's Their Time. Let Them Complete Their Eight Years.:

Even if it means wiping out the whole country ko?

smh. You all need deliverance hornezley!

Let’s start with a quiz…
1. How many senses do you have?
2. Which of the following are magnetic: a tomato, you, paperclips?
3. What are the primary colours of pigments and paints?
4. What region of the tongue is responsible for sensing bitter tastes?
5. What are the states of matter?

If you answered five; paperclips; red, yellow and blue; the back of the tongue; and gas, liquid and solid, then you would have got full marks in any school exam. But you would have been wrong.

The sixth sense and more
Taste, touch, sight, hearing and smell don’t even begin to cover the ways we sense the world. We sense movement via accelerometers, which are located in the vestibular system within our ears. The movement of fluid through tiny canals deep in our ears allow use to sense movement and give use our sense of balance. Make yourself dizzy and its this sense that you are confusing.
When we hold our breath we sense our blood becoming acidic as carbon dioxide dissolves in it forming carbonic acid. Not to mention senses for temperature, pain and time plus a myriad of others that allow us to respond to the need what is going on within us and the environment around.

Magnetic repulsion
It is not just paperclips that are magnetic. Both tomatoes and humans interact with magnetic fields, too.
Paperclip and other objects that contain iron, cobalt and nickle are ferromagnets, which means that they can be attracted to magnetic fields. While the water in you and the tomato – or more accurately the nuclei in the hydrogen in the water in you and the tomato – is repelled by magnetic fields. This interaction is called diamagnetism.
But the forces involved are incredibly weak. So normally you don’t notice them. That is unless you have been in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine. In there, a massive magnet manipulates nuclei of various atoms inside you in such a way that results in detailed images of your inner workings.
Though you don’t need to go to a hospital to see diamagnetic interactions. Just use a couple of cherry tomatoes, a strong magnet, a wooden kebab stick and a pin:
And the types of magnetism don’t stop there, but that’s for another time.
You’re painting with the wrong colour
You were taught that primary colours are those that can’t be made by mixing other coloured pigments together, and that all other colours can by produced by blending these primary colours. Red and blue fail on both counts. You can make red by mixing yellow with magenta. While a blend of magenta with cyan yields blue. Meanwhile a massive range of hues are inaccessible if you start with just red, blue and yellow.
Colour theorists had this all worked out by the end of the 19th century but for some reason it hasn’t made it to school curriculums. The proof is in your colour printer cartridges. They come in cyan, yellow and magenta, which are the true primary colours.
A bitter taste in your mouth
Remember those tongue maps that crop up in biology text books? They clearly show how the taste buds for bitter sit at the back of the tongue, with sweet, sour and sweet having their own discrete regions.
These tongue maps first appeared in 1942 after Edwin Boring of Harvard University misinterpreted a German study from 1901. Despite Boring’s mistake the maps soon started to appear in schools texts. Then in 1974 the topic was revisited and the whole idea was roundly discredited. Nevertheless over 40 years later tongue taste maps still persist in biology text books.
Look at the state of your screen
We all learned solids keep a constant shape because the molecules in them are ordered. These can melt to liquids which keep a constant volume and can be poured. Liquids evaporate to form gases that expand to take up the volume available to them. There we have the three states of matter, end of story.
Expect of course there is more. Liquid crystals have molecules that are ordered like a solid but are fluid like a liquid. These properties are vital for your cells, shampoo and of course liquid crystal (LCD) flat screen devices.
But why stop at four states. There is plasma, the state of matter for most things in the sun, or Bose-Einstein condensates, superfluids and dozens more.
Time to rewrite textbooks?
There are many more than the five “facts” that need to be fixed in school textbooks. I am not suggesting that we should start teaching 6-year-olds about matter that only appears in Nobel Prize-winning physics labs or filling the curriculum with detail on dozens of senses. But maybe we should stop telling kids fibs.
Perhaps a biology lesson should start with: “We have many senses, here are the five we are going to learn about.” Or a sentence dropped in here and there that mentions the existence of more than three states of matter. As for the tongue map, just rip that page out of the book.

Romance8 Things Men Find Unattractive But Won’t Tell You by Youpele52(op): 2:11pm On Oct 28, 2014
You are sure he is into you. It’s a relationship! Here are eight bonehead moves NOT to make if you want it to last.

1. Needy baby greedy baby. Don’t become too dependent. Don’t abandon your friends and family and depend on him for all of your emotional needs. It’s dangerous and honestly, it’s unattractive.

2. Great expectations – it’s not just the name of a movie, it’s a relationship killer. Of course you should expect certain things: respect, civility, etc. But don’t think your relationship is a cure-all. And surely don’t expect your lover to lavish you with gifts, even if he got it like that.

3. Remote control – don’t hog the remote control, meaning don’t be the one making all the decisions all the time.

4. Jealousy. This is a big no-no. First of all, it’s scary. And it’s not healthy. He is going to have friends and family that he will want to spend time with, too. Slow your roll. Don’t be possessive.

5. Flirting with other people. It’s not nice. It’s disrespectful. It’s most likely to piss off your date and start a fuss. All for what? Make sure that you and your partner have boundaries and you know what makes him feel uncomfortable.

6. Boring. Be a little spontaneous now and then. Don’t be so predictable all the time and put your relationship into a rut.

7. Expecting change. Oh what a big killer! Do not expect your mate to change for you. Like and love ‘em for who they are, not what YOU think you can turn him into.

8. Ultimatums. “If you don’t do this, it’s over.” It will be. Communicate your concerns or wants. Don’t be demanding. If there’s a problem, be supportive without being pushy.

A good relationship is a balance act and one of compromise on the part of both people. Don’t commit murder and kill the buzz before it has even had a chance.

So we decided to take ourselves out on a tour to Ikogosi Warm Spring. More than twenty of us, mostly batch C's contributed N1,500 each. The girls cooked delicious rice and bought drinks which we took to the resort. We spent the whole day there. Swimming, dancing, eating, drinking and taking pictures. Ajayi.

PoliticsHappy Independence Day To My Fellow Compatriots by Youpele52(op): 1:33pm On Oct 01, 2014
Happy Independence Day to my fellow compatriots,

Three years I wrote a poem about President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, I tell you three years ago all Nigerians thought he was our Obama, okay great, few still think so.
There are tons of his promises not fulfilled yet or forgotten even, and don't forget there are milestone changes & growth in other spheres.
As we mark our Independence Day, I want us to note this "Only Nigerians can build Nigerian".
Being negative about Nigeria is like having a minus sign in a mathematical equation. Something is subtracted from Nigeria, and that's you and all you've got to offer to make this nation better. Talk about change, let it begin from you and me, and I bet it'll have repel effect all over.

Oh you say there's nothing to celebrate about and I say there is; I'm alive, and you're alive reading this, Nigeria is not peaceful but at least we're not Iraq, Syria or Libya. Though we have our share of terrorism, oh yeah, they're been trampled. Ebola came, it was truncated now it's not even in our newspapers. And so on and so forth.

If there's anything you owe Nigeria is continuos mention in your prayer.
"Our leaders are corrupt"
Where did they came from?
Us
Pray good for yourself, and Nigerians and the leaders that'll come out from us to lead us will be good. Meanwhile, develop the habit of spending more time praying for your leaders than the time you use for criticizing them. Prayer changes things. Don't know what to pray for them about. Pray God give them WISDOM.
How better it'll be if you turn your criticisms into prayer. I'm not just saying. I mean it.

2015 general elections will be bloody.
Wash your mouth.
The mouth is a gun, yes machine gun.
The tongue is the trigger
And our words the bullet. Altogether powerful.
2015 elections will be what you say it will be to you. And what we all agree that's what it'll be unto us.

Lest I forget, here's the link of the poem I wrote about President Jonathan,
