*Shakes my head, walks away*
Thank u. It is education. Quality, consistency in their educational calender (unlike Nigeria), relatively cheaper cost of living etc that carry me come here oh! If you check World University Rankings, African Institutions are far behind India. It is a Commonwealth (English Speaking)Country with lots of educational similarities with Nigeria. They are the 2nd fastest growing economies after China. You will like to visit here... No regrets, I will soon be through and leave them
Black Mark on India

I am a Nairalander schooling in India. I (Okoronkwo Hyginus Uchenna)and other Africans granted interview to a leading Indian National daily (The Times of India)on the racial discrimination challenges we face daily here in India. Part of the interview is reported in this Article. Please, Follow the link below for details.

Campus life in the country is charged with racial undercurrents towards African students.

"African students who pick India for scholastic pursuits often find it a lonely sojourn, riddled with hostility. Campus life is charged with racial undercurrents, and bright young students frequently find themselves left out in the cold. Cliques are common, and African students are often dismayed by the relentless staring, whispering and sniggering they are subjected to. Okoronkwo Hyginus Uchenna, a student of Comparative Law in Delhi, finds it befuddling when he becomes the target of sudden and unprovoked laughter. "I've noticed that when I walk into a room, the Indians will start speaking in Hindi. Or they will laugh, " he says.

Siena: If it's that bad, then he should simply return to Nigeria with his bride. Unless he's waiting for some mugger to knock him down, and take a dump on his chest with his wife looking on.
My brother, its that bad. I can testify to that. I am currently in New Delhi (India) for studies and we fight almost every weekend with them. Some of them are actually nice and accommodating to us Africans especially their gals. In fact, i dey jolli with one now wink. For marriage, I won't contemplate that unless she agrees to enter and settle down with me in Coal City.

Africans complain of discrimination in Mumbai, India

Sheeba Rani has been ostracised by many friends and relatives for marrying Nigerian Sambo Davis
Africans staying in and around India's commercial capital, Mumbai (Bombay), complain of indiscriminate racism and constant police harassment, reports the BBC's Zubair Ahmed.

Nigerian Sambo Davis is married to an Indian woman and lives in Mumbai.

All his documents are valid, but he was arrested by the police recently on suspicion of being a drug dealer.

He and 30 other black Africans were detained for hours before they were let off with an apology.

But the following day, Mr Davis said that he was shocked to read in local newspapers that they were "arrested for drug peddling".

"The police treat us Africans like dogs," he says.

Mr Davis claims he often faces discrimination when he goes to restaurants or when he tries to rent an apartment in gated middle-class communities.

"If Africans don't have papers, then deport them, don't put them in jail”

Ikeorah Junior (who runs a Cafe for Africans in Mumbai)
But Davies is nevertheless one of the lucky ones. He found a decent flat to rent, thanks to his Indian wife.

But his fellow countrymen, he says, still face discrimination: "When they go to rent flats in a normal building they are told - 'you are a black man, you are Nigerian, and you are not wanted'. This is racism."

'Hide and seek'
There is no official data on how many Africans live in Mumbai, but since India's economic progress gathered momentum in recent years, many have come to work in and around the city. Unofficial estimates put their numbers at more than 5,000.

Most of them are engaged in exporting garments to Nigeria and other African countries.

Many others are students, enrolled in the region's prestigious educational institutions.

But there are also hundreds of Africans, mostly Nigerians, who live as illegal immigrants in India. They have either "lost" their passports or their visas have "expired".

Every day, these people play hide-and-seek with the police - if they are caught, they are sent to jail.

Ikeorah Junior from Lagos runs a cafe for Africans in a crowded market on Mumbai's Mohammed Ali Road.

"I don't understand why they [police] have to go from house to house to arrest the people who don't have their papers. If they don't have papers, then deport them, don't put them in jail," he says.

Ahmed Javed, who is in charge of maintaining law and order in the state of Maharashtra, says it is not that simple: "In most cases they have no passports. So, unless their nationalities are determined, they cannot be deported."

Dozens of Africans have taken up residence on Mira Road, a dusty, nondescript town just outside Mumbai.

One "illegal immigrant" there asked me for money, claiming he had not eaten for two days.

He looked worried and told me that he had been approached by drug dealers to work for them.

Many Africans face discrimination when they try to rent apartments
"I have been here for three years - my visa expired a long time ago. I want to go back home. Please help me, brother," he tells me.

In this neighbourhood, Negro or kaalia (black in Hindi) are the two words indiscriminately used to describe all black people.

"We call them Negro because they are black. They look frightening," says one woman.

"They don't find homes to rent in Mumbai, they only stay in Mira Road. Why? Because of the way they behave. They sell drugs and indulge in other illegal activities. They cannot be trusted," a local man commented, seemingly unaware of the offensive nature of his words.

'Embarrassed and ashamed'
Against such a backdrop of pronounced prejudice, Sheeba Rani married Sambo Davis four years ago and the couple have two children.

Mrs Davis says her parents are enlightened Christians and they blessed them because they thought the marriage was God's wish.

But, she says, she has been ostracised by many friends, relatives and society since her marriage.

Mrs Davis is "embarrassed and ashamed" by the behaviour of the Indian people towards black Africans.

Sheeba Rani's parents blessed the couple saying the marriage was God's wish
"When I used to go to a mall or if I walked with him, I always wanted him to hold my hand. But when people saw me with him, they thought I was from a bad family or even a prostitute."

Earlier, she did not understand why black people were being looked down upon, but now she says she does.

"Because our society is obsessed with white skin. If I had married a white man, I would have gained more friends and society's approval too."

Mr Davis believes that the discrimination is solely "because I am a black man".

"It's because I am from Africa, I am a Nigerian. I think Indians see us as inferior."

Yet despite the discrimination they face, nearly all Africans the BBC interviewed said they had a soft spot for their adopted country.

They say the relations between India and Africa are "rock solid". Many argued that Indians and Africans are brothers.

"We look after Indians in our countries. They have become rich there. All we want here is for Indians to understand we are not drug dealers. We are not violent. We are just like them."

FamilyRe: Adultery Or Corruption – Which Is Worse? by Yucee55(op): 4:48am On Apr 11, 2013
redsun: How can you compare adultery with corruption? There is no abomination as bad as corruption,it grounds efficiency and ruin countless live.It is a crime against humanity.

Meanwhile adultery is just personal choice, adventure and joy.Life is about sex and fun,it can never be a crime.Unless it is rape.
It has been long punished as crime in Northern Nigeria.
It is very rampant and affects the management of our national budgets. So much money is needed to maintain an Adulterous lifestyle.
A member of U.S. Congress (the equivalent to our National Assembly) apologized to his constituency and resigned because he had been unfaithful to his wife.

Former US President Bill Clinton had with Monica Lewinsky (“that woman he did not have sexual relations with”). She supposedly only performed MouthAction on him, which to him was not ”sexual relations.”

An Italian president was being asked to resign because he was allegedly copulating with a young Brazilian mistress. Note that none of these individuals were accused of embezzlement or any form of corruption. The citizenry probably realized that a man whose wife cannot trust him (remember that the wife is also a citizen & voter) should not be trusted by the general electorate. When the former IMF boss Dominic Strass Kahn was accused of rape in New York last year, some Nigerians laughed believing it was ridiculous even if true. What about Pentti Arajarvi (the husband of the President of Finland) who was supposedly caught staring at the breast of Princess Mary of Denmark last month? These last two gentlemen, public officials in their own respect, were castigated for their improper” behaviors that would have earned them “high fives” in some corners in Nigeria.

Adultery or Corruption – Which is worse?
"...Durex condoms issued a report that Nigerian women are the most promiscuous in the world..."

I came across the above article and thought of sharing with fellow Nairalanders.

"Recently, I was with some friends and they were complaining about corrupt politicians. At least two of them were cheating on their wives with separate mistresses. I now made a statement that a man who is cheating on his wife, is probably not in a good position (“standing” in law) to complain about a corrupt politician. ..the same should apply to a woman who is cheating on her husband. I would not want the feminists to say I am ignoring them. As they say, what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
It is important that we understand the two situations and how they affect us especially in the political arena.

In January this year, Durex condoms issued a report that Nigerian women are the most promiscuous in the world. So, if our men in power are some of the most corrupt in the world according to Transparency International, are they now intimating that our women are the most unfaithful out there? Who creates this statistics and what sample are they using? Anyway, who does adultery affect? Some people may argue that it affects only the couple (or trio if you include the mistress).

The question becomes: would you prefer an adulterous leader or a corrupt leader? Before deciding, read on:
A friend said that corruption leads to adultery.
A U.S. politician Presidential candidate stepped down because it was discovered that he probably cheated on his wife.
Just like their masses frown on adultery, the laws of most foreign countries do not deal lightly with corruption.

How prevalent is corruption in Nigeria as compared to adultery?
So how does adultery or perceived infidelity affect politicians?

Am so sure this case will not see the light of the day.
The girl agreed that there is a devil and there is hell.
Ofcourse, these what the Holy Bible teaches.
The same Holy Bible says that punishment for a witch, is death by stoning (All of u should read Exodus 22:18 and Leviticus 20:27).
She even came out on her own. If you come out for deliverance, u cannot tell the deliverer how to deliver you.
There is nothing like witch-for-Jesus.
The witch girls was very lucky that she was not killed as the Holy Bible said.
If Bishop killed her, nothing would have happened.
The Bible said that we should not suffer (permit) a witch to live.

The Holy Bible is the judgement Book the Appeal Court will use and rely on.

I know many married buddies who told me that they never knew that their so called sweethearts would later become their heartaches in marriage.
Women often hide their true characters until after marriage.

Of all the girlfriends I have dated, only one of them I can pass nights with with my two eyes closed.

I like this post. It is the actual truth of the whole matter. I ran out of relationship with gurls because of my experience with just one. NO REST 24/7. Complaints all over. If its not delay in calling her, its for failure to say, 'I Love u' and all sorts of rubbish. Mchew!

I will marry but under stringent certain CONTRACTUAL conditions. e.g she will be on probation for the 1st 2yrs. After observing her behaviours, then I will Renew it with her for 3yrs. If she consistently behave herself well to my satisfaction, then we renew it for another 5yrs. Should she give me the slightest headache, she will find her way.

Why Abacha Didn’t Kill CBN Gov, Sanusi In 1995…His Role In Akaluka’s Murder
[img][/img]

Fresh facts have emerged as to why the government of late Sani Abacha did not kill Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), governor, Lamido Sanusi, in 1995, after he and eight other jihadists mobilized crazed extremists to behead Gideon Akaluka in jail

Akaluka, a young igbo trader, allegedly desecrated the Koran. He was arrested after his wife allegedly used pages of the Koran as toilet paper for her baby. After he was locked up by the police, a group of Muslim fundamentalists break into the jail, beheaded Akaluka, and paraded his bodiless head around the streets of Kano.

Pointblanknews.com investigation has revealed the role Sanusi, an alleged Boko Haram sympathizer, and proponent of the controversial Islamic Bank, played in the murder of Akaluka, and why the Abacha regime decided to lock him up for two years for the murder of Akaluka.

Sources hinted that shortly after returning from Khartoum, Sudan where he earned a degree in Sharia and Islamic studies, at the International University of Africa, Sanusi became a recluse and immersed himself in the Koran and became a teacher of the Hadith as espoused by the Wahabbists.

Wahhabism is an ultra-conservative branch of Sunni Islam. It is a religious movement among fundamentalist (with an aspiration to return to the primordial fundamental Islamic sources Qur`an, Hadeeth and Scholarly consensus (Ijma)) Islamic believers. Wahhabism was a popular revivalist movement instigated by an eighteenth century theologian, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (1703–1792) from Najd, Saudi Arabia.

Sanusi, who is alleged to detests the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, because according to him, it is anti-islam, was part of a nine man clique of extremists who had a huge following.

A source said, “ when Sanusi returned from Sudan where he associated with very extreme personalities, he was not a happy man. he was treated like an outcast in royal circles because his grandfather, was deposed as Emir of Kano. So his anger grew. “

During that period, the incident of desecration of the Koran by the Akalukas surfaced. According to our source, during that period the Abacha government was not comfortable with the activities of the extremists in Kano, who they view with suspicion.

The regime, it was gathered, silently assassinated a lot of them. Said our source “ When Akaluka was locked up, Sanusi and eight others mobilized some extremist mob who stormed the prison and killed Akaluka. The regime identified the masterminds, so mandated its hit squad to eliminate the nine, including Sanusi .”

Pointblanknews.com gathered that eight of the masterminds were assassinated by Abacha, but for the intervention of former First Bank chairman, and father of Christmas Day bomber, Alhaji Umar Mutallab and others.

“ It was Muttallab and the rest who were heavy sponsors of Islamic activities who prevailed on Abacha to spare Sanusi. They are argued that since he has gone through a lot, treated like a pariah in the royal circles because his grandfather was deposed, he should be spared. So They decided to remove him from Kano to Sokoto where he was locked up for two years.” Said the source

It was further learnt that after his release from prison, Sanusi was handed over to Mutallab who pushed him into banking because he(Sanusi) had a degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU). From there he moved to the United Bank for Africa, and the First bank, from where he rose quietly until late President Umar Yar’Adua recruited him to head CBN and spearhead the introduction of the Islamic Bank.

“Dear ladies,

Firstly, if u are still struggling to find a husband at an old age because u are looking for a perfect man, Something is certainly wrong with u. Now, your propaganda magazine tells u that 'All men are liars, cheats and useless, but let’s be honest here, which is more likely? Is it that there’s something wrong with about 70million African men, OR there is something wrong with one African Woman, U. The Truth is this when a product is not doing well, the sales team doesn’t blame the customers, they either blame d product or sales and marketing strategy. So ladies, have u been marketing yourselves? What’s your Marketing strategy? Do u think u will be picked out of d shelf and placed in d basket of matrimony if u are always hanging out with that coven of witches u call friends? Those ladies who intimidate any man who approaches u. Hmmmm drinking yourself to stupor every Friday and Saturday night does not exactly make u look like a marriage material. Neither will any product (U) do well in the market if d sales team (U) reeks of desperation. Nagging, whining only tells a man that he is watching a preview of what life will be like if he walks down d aisle with you. If your precious Ex's all complained about your Nags, get a gag! U want a man?...invest in a good wardrobe, and dress well. When a man comes to you, smile and be polite, even if he does not fit your mental image of your kind of man. At 18, most ladies already have an image of her perfect man, which includes height, body type and wealth. As time goes on, a lady will add more and more qualities on her list, such that by d time she is dating for marriage, not a single man alive can meet her exact standards Ladies, stop coming to relationship with a chip on your shoulder. If u believe All men are 'Bad' all men are Dogs, then it will become a self fulfilling prophesy. No man is perfect, if u want to find a perfect man, you will have to do a genesis chapter one and make him out of clay, and breathe life on him. And even then, chances are, he may still disappoint. You say u cant marry a blue collar guy like a mechanic or carpenter, Now if a carpenter was good enough to marry Mary mother of the Jesus Christ, why isnt one good enough for you? Do not focus on where a man is now, but look and see where he has the potentials to be. Don’t focus on some petty physical features that are not up to your Mexican soap-opera standards. Hmmmmm your dream man, will he be faithful? Will he be a good father to your kids and a good husband to u? Will he love, cherish and respect u? What’s the point of been beaten to a pulp every night by some rich, good looking and womanizing jerk? Do u want a future where u will sit in a traffic in your BMW X6, GUCCI sunglasses covering your swollen eyes and u look out of d window and see a happy couple in a keke napep holding hands, laughing and giggling like newly wedded couple even after 12 years of marriage. Africa (NIGERIA) is full of good men, you are just so caught up day dreaming about your fantasy man that they are passing unnoticed before your very eyes. Don’t be cynical, fussy and uptight. Improve your product, and how it’s marketed and the demand for it will grow through the roof. And remember u are competing in a modern African market. Don’t fake pregnancy or get pregnant to trap him, e no dey work again joor! Ur perfect man is out there. He may not look like what u want or expect, but if u give him a chance, the two of u will find joy, companionship and completion like u have never thought possible, Everybody can love a rose, but it takes a great heart to include the thorns……..wish you the best in your quest for a life partner. Good morning World Movers”
