Besides, its pretty cool that you and I share similar goals and first degrees. I know you're young & would become Americanized! Upon graduation, don't see you going for a foreign service job in Nigeria. Maybe in the future, but not in the next 10 years. If you're not going to Law School (Law School is great tho'), you may wanna consider Intl Rel when you get in.

No, Catholics don't worship idols. I'm no more Catholic but was born, baptized and raised in the Catholic Church. Catholics use the Good news Bible (only difference is additional 7 books and very easy to read). In slight defense of Catholicism, I think those statues create a memory of the birth and life of Jesus. Its not there for anyone for bow down and worship. They may bow to these man-made things, likewise humans throw a salute or bow to a person they honor and respect... would anyone call that a sign of worship?

In the end, take time off, drive to Houston, do a tour before signing any lease (6 months contract preferable). If you like it, upgrade to 12 months or move out without messing up your rental history. Its cheaper to own a home over here than renting apartments /Condos anyways.
