jonnysessy: The point i am trying to make is that i buy into value stocks than buy to have several units that may not really add value to my portfolio. Access Bank have the least growth rate on profit after tax when compared with all the FUGAZ. They have a very huge gross earning but showed little in terms of profit. That is not encouraging, they have been on this acquisition spree for sometime now. But, with very little to show for it. To further stress my point, if i have N100,000 it is better to use it and buy few units of Presco than commit the same money to buy many units of Ellah Lakes. In the past i buy all manners of shares because i hope that one day it will appreciate. But, now i select what i buy and i try as much as possible to buy quality rather than quantity. I am trapped in some penny stocks because of the price attraction. But in the long run it had not paid off for me. A market for all. |

jonnysessy: I guess people consider it cheap and possibility of growth is there. But, that is a misconception. Before I go after cheap stocks to accumulate and pray it appreciates so that I can make a kill. But, now I go after blue chips companies that I am sure will pay me dividends and my capital will not erode in them. With the acquisition of several banks across Africa in a bid to facilitate seamless cross-border trade, it is only logical to pick up access and expect growth. You can't tag that "misconception". |

HesInMe: I've said it before: I'm shocked at how investors are still buying bank shares in this recapitalization period. Except for maybe Access, which has a clear need for cash as it gobbles up assets at home and abroad, what magic are the banks going to do with all that new money and all those dividend-hungry shares in the short term?

emmanuelewumi: Palm Oil incorporated into fuel production in Indonesia
Still very bullish on Presco Biofuel. We are still struggling to produce palm oil with a maximum of 5% fat constituent at scale. Don't take palm oil from common man oo. The egusi soup will no longer bang!! A good fund hedging idea though. |

ositadima1: You should stop complaining and make do with whatever your leaders provide. Learn to take advantage of the situation, as every challenge presents an opportunity. For example, in a water-flooded area, it's better to be the person who owns a fleet of canoes than the one stuck with a Mercedes 190. Everything else is just talk. Leaders come and go—T-Pain will rule and leave, and we don’t even know if the next president will reinstate all the subsidies.
In Nigeria, every leader does what they believe is politically right. There is no continuity, only corruption and looting. So, all these arguments are pointless because time moves on, and tomorrow will bring a new set of challenges.
I've been seeing all this takes on right policies and all, but without consideration to the people on the streets aka the masses aka the common man. The "Christmas day" is over here in the city and gees, the sight was awful. Not necessarily expecting some fun-air filled celebration, but atleast everyone should be able to thrive, but no, downcast faces of hustlers everywhere. Well, I have succeeded with the political position of the FGN. Hence, I've been in my village in the past 4days, trying a social project to improve socio-economic conditions with xamount. I can spare that. I just came in, spent about xamount buying stuff I really don't need, but handing it over the the next individual who might need them. Local business man has money to restock, people get essentials. The next phase is to boost their agricultural output with the remaining xamount. Hoping to improve on sustainable jobs and reducing poverty. Go to your village and improve one or two persons life. Its just desperation out there. Channel loose funds, if you have oo Merry Christmas once again! |
