Can you shed some light on this? Any antecedents?
Trump generally likes cheaper energy cost mostly for manufacturing. So he enjoys pumping more oil into causing over supply and lower oil cost. This helps maintain his proposed cheap energy for Anericans. But for a Nigerian context we don't produce enough, so coys are bound to have reduced revenues in the event they don't significantly improve output. Mind you, you're dealing with a man who doesn't "believe" in Climate action and is so bound on drilling in the Antarctica region😂😂

For the government, I'd be tempted to see how T-Pain works with a $50 oil benchmark for the budget. Perhaps the tax collector will finally strangulate everyone with tax.😂.

Why won't they? Young people are looking for money to revitalise businesses, the FG is busy doing Maradona with MSME financing. As for the state, I hope you're trying to do 500k oo. Cuz at this rate, you know who's winning.

Why are you also overlooking the fact that half year profit in 2023 was almost double of the full year profit for same year? If something similar happens this year then last year's PAT would be at least x2 of this year.

People see what they want to see.
Ok. Ba dama.

His words
emmanuelewumi:
I waited to see a turnaround in Oando for 2 years between 2013 and 2014
He has every right to speak to Oando in whatever manner he likes. The Dave2011 guy needs to calm down.

But for me, if my company starts making profit and I sit on 73% share of the company, I should be marketing to prospective investors and pitching future value to them. Equity all the way.

BullBearMkt:
I cannot agree less with you. The old @emmanuelewumi that I knew "talked" less; he shared his opinion with a few posts, after which you either took it or left it. His recent posts on OANDO may have more to do with personal vendetta.
grin grin grin grin grin
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Zagee:
From our analysis-paralysis, we have valued Oando at circa 100. What do you think Team Oando will value it for in equity for 1b shares?

This way might be a good way to retain value, cuz a right issue might be antagonistic for minority shareholders.

Is Wale really that cruel?? grin

Oga Emma's argument is that the majority shareholders (owning more than 70%) will take advantage of the minority shareholders by recapitalizing the company in their favor. If na only this him talk, i for jejely keep quiet. shocked shocked cool
In all of this. I think staying in the middle with the argument of Oando will be better. Turning a corner with the profitability, but again backlog of debts. Making necessary interventions here and there. Raised 1trillion already through debt this year. So it's finally down to recapitalization: the question is how? Right issues or trading a % of their 70% holding. Either way, it's clear fresh capital is needed. Waiting for 2024 results is just one way to be cautionary. Those "who know Wale" will be selling off by Monday(if suspension is lifted) and those who don't know will want to find out what path to recapitalization.

Let everyone do as pleased. 😌

Veritas 9mths vs 6mths results is a clear example of this. They can get hit by claims that wipe off previous gains. Some insurance companies are just perennial under-performers in this regard. Not saying Veritas will or won't break out of the rat race. My point is to be cautious with their results and not make unrealistic projections based on one report. Personally, I'd only take short term positions.
Valuable insight.

Backward integration will take years and huge investment in land and produce, for now, importation of sugar is unavoidable.
Your fine prints are not even helping matters either.😂
This is unbelievably long.

With this battered naira, he'd have to rely on fx from that refinery. He just has to find that pipeline of fx.

Technically, we're importing sugar tongue
Cost will remain high even to final consumers.

Aiico 12B profit

While I praise all these insurance stocks, this time around I give it to prestige

Prestige is another veritas kapital.

Let's see how far it will get to.
I once said "insurance will be insuring". It goes with the proposed economy. Also, their has been a surge in number of health insurance acquisition(Just one product). I think 2*million now. That number is still poor for a population of ~200m.
Go an get an Insurance cover if you dont have one, btw grin!!

Increase in price of raw material - sugar, labour and freight expenses might have a toll on DangSugar's profitability. The coy's revenue YoY increase of about 56.4%. Alhj should find ways to address these high operational costs. Probably all attentions are on the Dangote Oil refinery now
grin grin grin grin grin
That DS journey will be long o. Sugar doesn't take a year to grow sha... Backward integration should be yielding fruit soon, except for security reasons(if existing).

UNILEVER IHITS A NEW 4-YEAR HIGH
After years of sellers battering the stock and a series of ranging prices, UNILEVER closed this week at a new 4-year high. Could this signal a positive outlook for Unilever Nigeria Plc after achieving 46% revenue growth in the first nine months of 2024?

Omo learning and experiencing are two different things o. In this bull period, you will get away with so many jagajaga moves. When serious school fees hit you, you go shout I am a chosen😂

A bull market is like gambling and winning 80% of the time. Your adrenaline go pump to all time high. You would think it's your brilliance that's winning you streaks. Let's enjoy it while it lasts though.

There is an anomaly in the Nigerian market mainly caused by the banks. Inflation and high interest rates are supposed to bring the market down. However, our banks appear to be round-trip ping treasury bills and Forex. As long as the rates are high, maybe they can maintain this level but some are already showing weakness. I suspect that when the earning realities set in, banks will lead the bear, hopefully from Q1 next year.

Before then sha, I am expecting a violent Xmas bull to cap the bull. If it happens, to your tent O' Israel😂
More reason why we all need "a personal hedge fund" grin like a fixed income fund or proceeds from business to swoop in like a Knight in shiny armour😁.
