gamaliel9: Today i finally exited my long term analogue broker---let me not mention name but it has " Trust" to her name. Transfer my shares to another company, they sent forms, i filled them, with utility bill, nin, passport, signature confirmation, etc, still they did not transfer.... My strategy-- i sold all my shares with them...nonsense and ingredients....i instructed them to even sell at market price ...cscs promply sent all the sell alert. Toh...
I am waiting for T+3, hopefully my money should hit my bank account...or i escalate to SEC....
Please, post SEC address here to report them in case my money does not land on Tuesday or Wednesday. Toh
Load the toad ooo.. Turbo to the moon Very yeye people. I went through it for over 4months trying to transfer someone's holdings. It will not hit your account on that day o. They'd post a cheque in like one week time and set the clearance date to 24hrs. Very mischievous! Trading with your money. |

designking: Here is one major issue with Bamboo app. They usually don't update their stocks' prices and when you try placing an order, they use the outdated price.
This morning, I tried placing a buy order for Dangsuga but Bamboo is quoting ₦35 per share to purchase Dangsuga when the market value is around ₦31.
They will execute the order at ₦35 and pocket the difference of ₦4. To one guy who called Bamboo a "scam". Charges are high. No doubt, but when you continue to use Market Order to place a bid, you're going to get exactly what the market has presented- be it high or low. Rather, use a LIMIT Order option when you place a bid for a stock. |

ositadima1: Here is a breakdown of the key points:
1. Dangote Refinery has filed a lawsuit against the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC), Matrix Petroleum Services Limited, A. A. Rano Limited, and four other companies.
2. Dangote Refinery is seeking to void the import licenses of these companies, claiming they are importing refined petroleum products that Dangote Refinery is already producing and able to supply.
3. Dangote Refinery is seeking ₦100 billion in damages against the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) for allegedly continuing to issue import licenses to these companies.
4. Dangote Refinery claims the import licenses issued to these companies are crippling its business, as its products are left largely unpatronized.
5. Dangote Refinery is also seeking several other declarations and injunctions, including: - Declaring that Dangote Refinery is exempt from all federal, state and local government taxes, levies and other rates as a Free Zone Enterprise. - Preventing NMDPRA from imposing additional levies on Dangote Refinery. - Ordering NMDPRA to withdraw the import licenses issued to the other companies.
6. The case is currently adjourned to January 20, 2025 to allow the parties to attempt to reach a settlement.
7. This lawsuit comes amid disputes between Dangote and regulatory authorities, as well as Dangote's previous announcement of willingness to sell his refinery to NNPC. I'm not "The Law", but I laughed at some of his prayers. Let's see how far this can stretch in the courts. |

KarlTom: I do hope he lists it o. https://punchng.com/how-i-got-permit-for-2bn-nigerias-biggest-power-plant-davidos-father/
TOP 4 Economies in Africa and their effective power generating capacities:
1. South Africa ~40,000 Megawatts 2. Egypt ~ 40,000 Megawatts 3. Algeria ~ 50,000 Megawatts 4. Nigeria ~ 7,000 Megawatts.
PS: installed Generating capacity is upwards of 13,000 Megawatts .
The Power Infrastructure needs to be greatly invested in and existing infrastructure improved on... The UAE run on 100K MW installed system capacity with 50k operational and idle capacity each(if my memory serves me right) The infrastructure funds are for capital preservation NIDF and AVAIF. Transcorp Power and Co are idle wealth. Long term!! |

Ideally, every other African country starts to look for the naira to trade in Nigerian commodities(petroleum bye products, should this be the case). The naira strengthening against regional currencies will not also shy off from the $. That refinery has the ability to change the perception of Nigeria within the west African bloc. Pushing for a Naira denominated West African bloc won't be a bad idea as against the eco. Ideals sha!! Might just get a consistent net positive. |

Omooloriredade: Makes no business sense to me. Just focus on upstream and if you must dabble into refining why Trinidad & Tobago? Very small market in that axis. You would have to spend top dollar to turnaround the fortunes of the refinery. In fact, further loses are guaranteed in the first few years following the takeover. Looks like a misadventure about to happen.
Disclaimer - As per usual commentary. All based on personal opinion. Post could be wrong and misleading so please DYOR. You might want to see Dangote's last meetings with one of the Caribbean States. Can't remember which in particular. Peep into his insight. |

KarlTom: There's something about the Nigerian Insurance sector we are yet to decipher.
AXA came then ALLIANZ followed. Now it's PRUDENTIAL.
I think someone also said a Bank is about to buyout an Insurance company... You need that insurance sector to propel/support whatever anticipation of economic growth is being touted. |

EreluRoz: Emmaodet what financial advise will you give to someone with 15million naira laying somewhere and don't know how best use it. Life is a risk. My unsolicited advice would be; Take 1 million, buy Oando at Market Price (High risk assest) 14m: 25% into Access or UBA or any other Tier1 bank(Firstbank is still an anomaly) first thing Monday morning 25% in transcorp Of the 50% left: Place on 1yr tbills. If successful, use the proceeds to scoop either Japaul, Ftncocoa, Caverton(watch for bottom). A better waiting period for your cash than how it's waiting currently.😂 Reassess your positions in 365days from the day of execution. Selah! Or for peace to reign in your veins, buy into any infrastructure funds manager or solely Tbills/bonds. PS: I am not a Financial adviser. |

crownprince2017: Dangrefinery is a necessity in Africa for atleast another 20 years. It'll take almost 50% of the middle class Nigerians about 14 years of minimum wage savings to get the new Innoson EV. It'll take about 4 years to build and install 10,000MW of electricity. So Africa is very much dependent on fossil for atleast another 40 years. 20 years is not far. |
