Signs That Your Liver is Damaged | Liver Disease Signs and Symptoms

Liver damage can occur when the liver is exposed to toxins over a long period of time, when it is infected with a virus or bacteria, or in some cases when there is an underlying condition such as cirrhosis or hepatitis. There are several signs which may indicate that liver damage is occurring.

Warning Signs of Liver Damage.

1. An increased thirst

This may indicate diabetes, which can damage the liver. If untreated for a long period of time, diabetes can lead to liver failure. Increase in thirst may be accompanied by increased urination. This can be solved by getting a diabetes test.

2. A change in bowel habits

If you notice that there is more or less bowel movements than normal, it may indicate a problem with the liver. There may be a change in the color of the stool as well, which can indicate bleeding from the upper digestive tract.

3. A yellowing of the skin and eyes

This may indicate hepatitis, which is damage to the liver that results in inflammation. This is common in certain viruses like hepatitis A, B and C.

4. Nausea and vomiting

Liver damage can lead to abdominal pain and nausea and vomiting. This can be due to gallstones or inflammation of the pancreas, both of which are more common in those with cirrhosis.

It's a very "starchy" fruit, high in natural sugar too.
