The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has announced the suspension of twelve of its members following alleged breach of constitutional provisions of the association. The medical body made this known yesterday in Lokoja at the end of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting. In a communique jointly signed by the national President of the association, Dr Mike Ozovehe Ogirima and the Secretary-General, Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu, the following medical doctors are affected: Moses Oriatsotie, Omoti Ernest, Atilola Olayink, Adegbaju Dapo, Olubienmi Omojowolo and Alabi Babatunde. Other doctors affected by the decision of the NEC are Sekumade Adebayo, Onasanya Olade, Uwajeh Kenneth, Abiloye Kemi, Ayodeji Olaniyi and Balogun Babatunde. While the first two are from Edo State, the remaining suspended medical practitioners are from Lagos State. Explaining the reason for the decision of the NEC, Dr Ogirima said it is a breach of the constitutional provisions of the association to institute a litigation without exhausting the internal conflict resolution mechanism of the medical body. This according to him has been violated by the suspended members hence the decision to ease them in order to concentrate and await the court final verdicts. The President however disclosed that the affected medical practitioners if aggrieved, can still utilise a window of internal appeal through the forthcoming Annual Delegate Meeting of the medical body. The NEC among other resolutions, urged government at all levels to give top priority to postgraduate medical training so as to ensure better outcomes for citizens. It also called for immediate implementation of the Employment Compensation Act by the government as it concerns benefits to families of medical doctors and other health workers who died while performing their professional duties. |

The states to be recruited from includes Ogun, Bauchi, Edo, Oyo, Kwara, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Onitsha, Imo, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Yola. Does that means applicants from other states should go and die. why discriminatory recruitment? |
"We therefore demand a public statement from WAEC on the supervisor’s identity and the official reprimand failing which WAEC should blame itself for the reaction of Muslims" This is the issue I have with the religion. This statement could serve as impetus to already brainwashed fellows in the North to kill for the religion as usual |
Super Eagles Manager, Gernot Rohr, has said he is not scared of being owed by the Nigeria Football Federation as he gets set for his first match in-charge of the team. The Franco-German said this during the press briefing for the Africa Nations Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Tanzania scheduled for Saturday in Uyo. Rohr said he was more interested in honouring his contract while also building a solid team for the country with his main target of getting Eagles to record good results on the 2018 World Cup qualifiers starting in October. “I am happy to be here. proud to be the coach of big players and we will give our best to succeed,” he said. “It is difficult to say if I am the right man, let other people say it. I have experience of African football and have a German mentality, but to succeed in Africa, you need the right discipline and that is why I think I am the right man. “I was owed between six to eight months in Niger. “I am used to being owed in Africa. I have a contract and I am focusing on honouring it. My problem for now is victory against Tanzania on Saturday and then the game against Zambia next month. This weekend game will serve as a form of rehearsal. “I signed a contract and I am not bothered about non-payment of salaries for now, all we need to do is to work hard and achieve results.” The coach noted that he would be watching the Nigeria Professional Football League and also leagues in Europe to pick top players for the Super Eagles. While describing Chelsea midfielder, Mikel Obi, as his ideal man to captain the national team, he promised to speak with the former captain of the squard, Vincent Enyeama, who retired due to differences with former coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh. He added: “Mikel is my man for captainship because of the leadership qualities he has shown. He has what it takes to handle his teammates. “I don’t know why Enyeama decided to quit, but definitely I will be speaking with him after the game against Tanzania because we need all our best hands to build a solid national team.” https://newtelegraphonline.com/m-used-owed-salary-rohr/ |
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has attributed the present economic woes of the country and the state to lack of developmental foresight on the part of past leaders at various levels. The governor spoke in Lokoja at the 25th anniversary of the creation of the state. Bello, who admitted that Kogi State had not attained a level befitting of a 25-yearold state, lamented that despite the huge natural and human resources, the state had been underdeveloped as a result of lack of visionary leaders. “The painful thing is that Kogi State did not join the league of visionary states. We seemed unable to find leaders who love Kogi above self, family and friends. Thus successive administrations posted lackluster performances, leading to severe underdevelopment of the state and increased poverty among our people. “If they had been merely incompetent, their failures would not have been so terrible. Instead, they added corruption and criminality to the mix. Simply put, some of our past leaders were utterly godless. They stole us blind,” he stressed. According to him, he in-herited a state on the verge of collapse, a condition he likened to the whole country which was on ‘Intensive Care Unit,’ until President Muhammadu Buhari was elected to salvage the situation. He averred that the ‘Change,’ which swept the nation with the election of President Buhari had presented Kogi State with an opportunity to reinvent itself and make great strides, adding that Mr. President’s commitment to the ‘Change Agenda’ in Nigeria has provided a model for positive development with probity and accountability as driving principles. The governor emphasised that the people-centred New Direction Agenda of his administration anchored on five thematic areas of Education, Health, Job Creation and New Ventures, Infrastructure and Utilities, and Productive Public Service and Pension Reforms, were meant to have direct positive bearing on people of the state. In a related development, the governor donated about 140 patrol vans and more than 1,000 motorcycles to various security agencies in the state in order to boost their operational efficiency in the task of maintaining security. While receiving the vehicles on behalf of other security outfits, the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Idris Ibrahim, described the gesture as unprecedented in the history of the state. Idris, who noted that activities of criminal elements had been reduced drastically since the inception of the present administration, said the feat was achieved as a result of collaboration and renewed commitment of the state government. https://newtelegraphonline.com/bello-blames-past-leaders-kogis-woes/

I used to think it only happen in the movie until I got my dose of heartbreak last December. After all we shared together and promises, she dropped the bombshell that virtually drove me crazy. Out of struggle, I registered her for JAMB but in the process of the exam got laid by a Facebook friend using the phone I bought for her. She got the admission and I was not even appreciated because she thought I have become her worst enemy. As God would have it, I had a new year gift. I thought I would not love again but I am presently happy with my new queen. Ladies are highly unpredictable! |
