This dude that gave me his WhatsApp no so we could do instant messaging; at just a simple question I asked him he blocked me! I greet you Mr! so embarrasing anyway.
Sorry if you are angry that I blocked you but there are ways and etiquette of starting a conversation with a stranger. I answered others that was in contact with me.

Health / Re: Just Discovered That My Girl Has Hepatitis B by zan1999: 7:16pm On Mar 11, 2018
@Op, do not be frightened, it is not as bad as people paint it. I have been living with it for more than 10 years now and I am happily married. My wife is hep negative simply because I told her of my status when we were dating and advised her to go for vaccination. The difference between hep B and HIV is that there is a vaccine against hep B but not for HIV.
Make sure you receive complete dose of the vaccine and you will never contract it from her.
She should go to the hospital for more tests and follow the doctor's instructions. I am on a drug called Tenofovir.

Islam for Muslims / Re: The Story Of Musa And Khidr (may Allah's Blessings Be Upon Them Both) by zan1999: 1:45pm On Mar 02, 2018
rentAcock:

Hush over There, this is pure bias and intolerance. Anyone is free to roam about Christian threads calling pastors thieves and crooks but you dare not visit a Muslim thread to post, let alone criticize any aspect of the religion. That's a glaring double standard and it only helps in encouraging intolerance of other religious groups by Muslims. Heck, some lunatic killed a bunch of French journalists a few years ago because of a caricature depiction of Allah. Come on, this is sad
When next you talk about intolerance, get yourself a mirror. You will never find Muslims raining curses on Jesus (PBUH) or God but you guys rain abuses and curses on Muhammed (PBUH) and Almighty Allah the way you like. May Allah(God) forgive you.

While filling my form for M.Sc; York University, i was asked my official status in canada and these two out of all other options are confusing me;

Currently on, or will require, study permit to study in canada. and

No status.

Which should i pick? Very urgent please.
There is no confusion here. Since you are not a Canadian, you will need a study permit.

@zan

What's the new immigration law
Immediately after your study, you can apply for Tier 2 visa which will allow you to stay back in the UK for 24 months after your studies.
This will give you more opportunities to look for jobs in the UK.

OFFICIALLY, Canada is not one of the countries that PTDF sends Nigerians to. I presume if you are awarded the scholarship and you've a Master's/PhD offer from a Canadian school, you can use it.

See the attached and also check previous years to know the countries listed. You wont find Canada.
This is a new rule for 2018/2019. Before now, you can go anywhere in the world for your programme with PTDF scholarship but most people prefer UK because admission process is easy and PTDF will assist you with the visa process. If you choose other countries, you are solely on your own regarding the visa process. I am a PTDF scholar going to University of Manitoba for Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. I now see reason why most people avoid going to Canada, I applied for TRV since Nov 21st, 2017 and up till now there has been no update on my application.
I have deferred my resumption from January to May; I have started having a second thought about Canny land, now that the UK has changed their immigration law.

If the bonnet is empty, then why still maintain the design and waste of space?
If you are a science student, you will know what impulse means. The space is needed to dilate time and reduce impact force when there is an accident else the car will not be different from a motorcycle where the rider has to receive impact force in the shortest time possible.

You don't need any travel experience to get Canadian Visa but if you had applied to any country and got rejected, don't lie about it.

I just went through the departmental admission requirements for masters and see this a sample of a recent written work ( maximum of 15 pages, double spaced) I contacted the dean and got a reply on the second picture. Does this mean my bachelor's final year project? It's more than 15pages. I'm confused
There is no confusion here, what they need is the synopsis of your BSc thesis.

Nothing is impossible but you need a lot to do in convincing the VO in your sop that you are a genuine student and that you are not just looking for a way to run away from Nigeria.

This problem happens quite often and there is no reason to worry. You can send a quick email to Accra alerting them to update your status to medical passed. If not, you might get a message eventually from them asking for your medicals even after medical was already completed and passed. Sometime the system is crazy like that, better to proactive handle the problem earlier than later.
Thank you for the response. Kindly help me with Accra email address.

Hello house, on the 21st November, 2017 I did my upfront medical and that is the same day I did my biometric and submitted my study permit application. Three day later, I got a call from the clinic that my medical was OK and they have submitted but up till now it has not reflected in a cic account. Is there any reason for me to worried? My resumption date is January 3rd.

Hey Guys my visa has been approved. It’s been God. I got delayed in August for insufficient funds and when I ordered my gcms note, it said lump sum deposit occurred. So after asking the gurus and going through previous posts for my situation, I decided to pay a year fee, open a domiciliary account and transfer my living expenses in it. I also added a detailed sponsorship letter and a letter of explanation to show changes made to my application.

Thanks, I already have a GRE and TOEFL account with ETS. Do I have to supply them with my Username and pwrd so that they do the registration for me?

happyday:

You don't need schools with high acceptance rates (whatever that means). You have a good profile, extra brownie points if you published in any of your MSc's. It's a good thing you know your desired research area.

Find good MSE programs strong in your research area. Start with strong programs like those in University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign (UIUC) and Purdue University. Ideally, you're looking for FOUR good schools. Mail their graduate program co-ordinators, and professors you'd like to work with, if admitted. Express your interest, discuss your background, and make see why you think your background has prepared you to contribute meaningfully in their labs. I'm sure there are emerging research fields where your expertise in Physics and MSE will be a goldmine, and would surely boost your profile.

If you can get even ONE of those profs to be overly interested in you, you won't need to worry about acceptance rate or funding.

Most profs won't take you serious though, unless you've taken the GRE, and done well. So, if you send mails and all you hear is crickets, don't waver. Plan to do well on your GRE. The higher, the better.

Cheers!
Thank you for the robust response. My physics MSc thesis paper has been accepted in a peer review journal (Springer) but it is yet to be available online and I am currently putting my second paper together but GRE couple with work (Lecturing at a private university in Nigeria) are hindering its progress.
In addition, how reliable is "www.gregmattoeflnigeria.com" because their registration fee for GRE is 50K which is way cheaper than the official GRE registration fee ($205).
Education / Re: How To Achieve High Scores On The GRE by zan1999: 11:14am On Jun 14, 2017
Pls I want the house to help select schools in the US that have high acceptance rate and funding for PhD in materials science and engineering (biomaterials research area) or PhD in Biomedical Engineering. I have Bsc in Physics and two different masters, one in Physics other in materials science and engineering. I will be writing TOEFL and Gre by September.
