This WES people are so annoying with their very vague responses upon they never reply on time. I sent them my marriage cert and change of name because my application was in my married name and all my documents are in my maiden name and asked them if having two names will affect my application (they cancelled someone's application based on this) and their response is that I should update the name of my docs. How do I update my name on my certificates bikonu? Smh I'm just hoping that when all my documents finally get to them that they won't cancel anything. I'm so pissed I didn't go with another evaluating body. Smh

Then silence. Not even a single ADR.
Ordered 1st GCMS notes April 2018 everything looked perfect.
Then complete silence.
Ordered 2nd GCMS notes July 2018, this never arrived
Wrote Raplh who confirmed Eligibility and Security not yet started.
More silence, not even a ghost update
October 3rd 2018 ordered 3rd set of GCMS notes. Arrived Nov. 1st. Still same as April notes. My file had not been touched since March 2018. Eligibility and Security not yet started.
Wrote a 3rd mail to Ralph on Nov 4th who was gracious enough to respond (Ralph responds only once). He confirmed that my eligibility and security was not yet started and my application cannot be expedited.
Nov 8th, like a dream ! my PPR!

Checked email and profile this morning and saw nothing.

By 2pm during my lunch break, I saw a mail notification, I wanted to ignore but decided to check.

I saw a mail from donotreply@cic.gc.ca that I have an update on my profile. I was excited, that finally I am getting a ghost update / adr.

I logged into my cic acct and saw my profile was updated. I was so excited, thinking it was just a ghost update and that finally my file was receiving attention. I wanted to log out but I felt the nudge to proceed and click on view complete application which I did.

Nothing seemed to have changed, my background check was still in process, I was about to log out again, when I felt that urge to scroll further down to the mail section.

I saw I had a new mail, titled request letter. I already concluded that it was an ADR for fresh bank statement. Love and behold, it was the almighty PPR.

I wasn't expecting it to come without an ADR for updated POF since my application had been pending for almost 10months. I lost appetite immediately, and was was just screaming. I couldn't share the news with my colleagues, so I just lied to them that my husband got a new job!.

I am immensely grateful to God Almighty who did not put me to shame. Delay is not denial. Though it tarries, it must surely come.

Thank you all for all the love and support.

Off to take my pictures and submit tomorrow.

This year has been so challenging. hubby and I lost our jobs, all our money tied at POF, we were feeding from Hand to mouth and struggled to pay school fees. Infact this September, we had to change their schools to a very cheap school.

God bless you all.

I felt so compelled to respond to you. May this fresh start bring you abundant blessings and unmerited favours. May God bless you and your family.

WAEC has stopped the sale of scratch cards; For those who ultimately need it for WES verification.

Hian! Why on earth can't govt bodies ever be reliable? What do we do now?

Silent Reader here. September 2018 AOR.

This thread has been a real blessing to me. All I know about this process i learnt by reading from Part 4 and 5. Thanks to those who contribute.

Had to reactivate my account to post this.... I believe you do not need to resend documents when upgrading your ECA with wes. Please see below

https://www.wes.org/advisor-blog/how-to-upgrade-your-wes-credential-evaluation-report/

Do we have a whatsapp group for September AOR please....

Thanks!

for ECA I evaluated only my Masters. for APEGA now I'm evaluating my ND, Degree and Masters. they said I should send masters transcript again even though it was an upgrade. I dunno if this is a new habit or what.

That's why I sent everything together mehn...I can't do this journey twice. Thank God I now know from here that I can simply ask for an upgrade when I'm ready for a course by course evaluation.

You're still on track. Whenever you're ready for course-by-course you simply request WES to do an upgrade, no need to do transcript waka again. Using another evaluating body for PR will simply be postponing the evil day.

Thank you so much for this! Phew

Chill, for PR waka the WES evaluation is different from the one used for APEGA. ECA for PR which is document by document then for APEGA its course by course evaluation. so its not one for all. you'r sadly gonna do it twice either way.

Sad something....I've already started with WES. If not I'd have abandoned it. With the amount of time and effort I've invested in it, I'm just going to see it through

I'm doing apega o...so must use WES sadly.

Thank you for this....I just started my journey and I found out that it's better to evaluate every document you have at once because in my case, I'll still need to register with APEGA. It may seem tough using WES now but I believe it'll pay off later because I don't want to do this waka twice

Visa Denied because of discount from OAKBEND Medical center.

we had our last baby in 2015 at oakbend, fees were pre-agreed before we traveled and the usual discount was given to us. (the breakdown received from the doctor indicated hospital fee as 2,300,, amongst other fees) eventually after baby birth .. the bil from the hospital showed our final bill as 2,300 which is inline with what the doctor told us ... but the bill also indicated that about 9,000 had been discounted to arrive at the 2,300 we paid.

our interviewer wasn't convinced that the bill was just 2,300 even after we presented the latter from the hospital which was addressed to the consular explaining the discount received.

i am so confused right now, my wife is pregnant again and i am now considering canada (dont know if this will be a red flag for the canadian process too), we have written the hospital to write them again.. and also i am thinking of paying US-attorney in US to visit the hospital and the embassy/consular to set the records straight.

any advise or recommendations will be highly appreciated. thanks

Did you guys present a zero balance from Oakbend? Because they usually strongly word their zero balance to state that they did not accept any state funds on your behalf. I'm honestly surprised to hear this.

And the time as come for Oakbend to join others.

I can authoritatively confirm that Oakbend has increased its fees by about 100% if you register and pay before the 36th week and even higher if you pay after 36th week. Epidural fees are nt optional again but however refundable for vaginal birth if not used. Hearing test is COMPULSORY now and included in their fee.

Thank God for the opportunity to have had 2 Oakbend born babies before this 'heart-paining" increase.

For more info, check Oakbend's website or ask your doctor.

Thank God I'm done with them

I had my baby in June 2017. My Dr was Dr Z but he couldn’t take my delivery. Dr F was assigned to me. I had seen horrible reviews about him online and I got to experience this first hand. He was so nasty, I had to file an official complaint to Oakbend about him. He was very rude to me throughout my labour. I had a tear during delivery and when he was stitching me up I could feel the pain and I was reacting to the pain (I didn’t take epidural). His exact words to me were ‘Look here, I have numbed the area so I know you are not feeling any pain, if you move again, I will leave you here and walk out’. I wonder why people go to him. Maybe he was nasty to me because I wasn’t his patient or maybe he was in a bad mood but I wouldn’t advice anyone to use him knowing that he can flip at anytime. Oakbend wrote me an apology letter afterwards (who apology ep? ). My birth experience was very horrible thanks to him. P.S I’m not a newbie to childbirth. My first were twins. Had an unmedicated vaginal delivery for the twins in the U.K (no epidural) my delivery for the twins was a lot more pleasurable than the singleton birth handled by Dr F. I do not wish him on my enemy.
