Pls properly processed cassava (tapioca, akpu, garri, abacha, woteva) is not harmful. Dat is why the cassava has to undergo proper fermentation to be edible. Nobody in his correct senses wud eat cassava tubers in their unprocessed state. Unless u wan mk cyanide finish u

Family / Re: What Does 'submission' Of Women In Marriages Mean Exactly? by zannie(f): 7:32pm On Dec 01, 2012
So I'm expected to submit even when u beat me, abuse me in front of our children, cheat on me and show me absolutely no respect? Hahaha those days r long gone.
Submission is a beautiful thing required from a wife. But the husband should never forget the the first part which says husbands should love their wives. If you love someone you will respect the person deeply. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction

Nairaland / General / Re: Keeping Children From Speaking Vernacular. by zannie(f): 7:22pm On Nov 22, 2012
I grew up speaking Igbo and English fluently, thanks to my dad. There's nothing more painful than seeing culture die right before you. Most kids are now 'Usu' (bats) as my dad calls them- you are not English, and u can't even speak your mother tongue. So you belong nowhere.
May God help us

Wow! I didn't know it was such a huge issue, this genotype thingy and all. I mean, so AA genotype is like gold? Maybe its because I've always known I'm AA so I've not even been bothering about genotype.
@OP, so sorry u have to go through this, but something better awaits u. U just averted a bigger crisis so in that u shd be thankful. Hugs..

The topic clearly states 'what is the order of events in ur church'. Beats me why someone will come and start bashing one church. If you feel the Catholic church is not where you belong, just leave. One thing the church will never do is beg for members.
Just state the order of events in ur church. Must u bash another?
Smh 4 'Christians'

No matter what them dudes say, you cannot live without women.
My lecturer once said everything a guy does in life is for a woman; directly or indirectly. Complain all you want but its the truth.
I'm extremely proud to be a woman, an educated and forward thinking one at that.

Family / Re: How Are Nigerian Weddings Funded? by zannie(f): 12:20pm On Oct 09, 2012
Candie and Indidi,
True talk! Its mostly parents that make weddings so costly. My parents know so many people, its mind blowing. I've already told my mom dat all I want at my wedding is 50 people both at the trad and white. And she's like its not even possible.
Well, I'm very stubborn and I know in d end, its what I want that I'll do. If they wanna host their friends and well wishers, dey'll have to do a separate party for them.
I love very intimate quiet weddings. No noise at all. You can feel the love btw the couple cos its so tangible at small weddings. At big weddings, its so easy for the couple to even get lost in d whole thing, people struggling for food and so much noise. Yuck!

Politics / Re: What Has Nigeria Achieved So Far? by zannie(f): 5:38pm On Sep 30, 2012
I think this should be a time to reflect on what it means to be a country. And to think about what we can do to move this country forward.
A house divided cannot stand. Yes there are so many tribes and ethnicities in this country, but that should never stop us from being united. Our differences should make us stronger and not tear us apart.
We are here complaining and complaining. Dats all we do. We point fingers at other tribes and rain all sorts of abuses on each other. And we still think attitudes like that will move us forward. we still don't know the kind of giant leap we will make as a country when we look past our differences and be of one mind.
True, our leaders have failed us. It did not start today. Everything we are seeing in this country is a cumulative of all the mess this country has been put through since 1960, not just from GEJ's time. Is there still hope? The US is such a great example. Maybe we shud read up on where they were @ 52 years.
I still believe in this country. We should try and channel all these hate and tribalism into making this country work. In no time things will change for good.
This is the message that we should all preach. No tribe is better than the other, and it is all of us as a collective that make up Nigeria.
Good people, great nation.
Happy birthday to us!

This is why Nigerians are so sad and bitter! Gosh don't y'all have better things to do? Spewing forth such bitterness and hate. Always going back and forth with stupidity and being childish. Igbo, Yoruba all the time.
This thread was opened to discuss a book from one of the greatest writers we have managed to produce in this country. But y'all have managed to degenerate it into bigotry. I wonder wat u guys gain from abusing each other. Why can y'all stay away from each other's business? Since y'all hate urselves so GD much?
its this illusion of being 'superior' that continuously brings our downfall everywhere we go as Nigerians. Yet we think our 'tribe' is better. Smh
I just weak for the so called 'literates' in this country.
Literature / Re: Chinua Achebe Publishes Biafran Memoir by zannie(f): 5:57pm On Sep 27, 2012
Must get my copy. Achebe is a literary giant!
I've heard so many war stories. I do not wish to live in such times. But the story must be told so we and our descendants do not forget the past.
Politics / Re: Who Is A Lagosian? by zannie(f): 2:31pm On Sep 26, 2012
Nigerians are disgusting. So much tribalism and hate. May the fire of hatred not burn us down. Amen.
Migration is everywhere. Every tribe in Nigeria can be found in Lagos as a result of it once being the capital of the country. Big deal! It happens in every country. That's why it was collectively built by Nigerians; flaws and all.
I don't know what a Lagosian is, I don't stay in Lagos, but then I don't know why there's so much hate and blackness in all these people literally chanting 'to ur tents'! Its sickening.
God help us

Ibuprofen usually works like a charm.
But severe menstrual cramps that occur with (maybe) heavy menstruation may be symptoms of something. Example fibroid. A trip to the gynae to check out ur uterus will put ur mind at ease.
