IN less than 48 hours to the Presidential election, 12 Presidential candidates on Thursday dropped their ambition to endorse President Muhammadu Buhari for the Saturday’s election.

This is as the Yobe State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Sani Inuwa has detected to the All Progressives Congress, claiming that President Buhari’s style of leadership attracted him as well as the indiscriminately work of the President.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and publicity, Chief Femi Adesina, spoke with State House correspondents at the end of the close door meeting the candidates held with the President at the State House.

According to him, the candidates have directed their supporters to vote for President Buhari on Saturday.

Popular Malaysian pastor, Dr Jonathan David, has revealed winner of the 2019 presidential election.

The cleric, who made the revelation in a viral video, prophesied victory for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to him, God told him that Nigeria is on the path of righteousness and will not return to corruption

Pastor David also predicted that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, will serve for four or five more terms, by which time, Nigeria would have been a force to reckon with globally.

He said, “With what God is doing in Nigeria, it will become the food basket to provide resources, it is going to replenish the land and their money will change nations, their money will rebuild cities, with the resources that they have and the people that they have, God will begin to use them as a model nation,” he said in a YouTube video.

“Moving them out of corruption into righteousness, moving them from a place of poverty to a place of wealth, moving them back on the ladders of promotion because righteousness will strike at the heart of every corruption and the world of the enemy is going to cease. I see Nigeria rising, this is a new day in Nigeria, this is a new day and new hour, no more turning back.

“It is not just one term, God is going to extend the term, he is going to push it again and again and again. Righteousness will be the order of the day, the one coming after General Buhari is taking his Presidency to the next level and the next one coming and the next one coming in, God says there are four or five terms.

“God is going to give for or five terms into Nigeria, so that Nigeria will completely turn around. Not just for this general alone, not for this present President alone, there will be another four or five more, they will continue to bring reformation across the earth, they will continue to bring transformation, so that Nigeria will not just rise for a short moment and become like a shooting star and then disappear out of context, God is saying I’m going to build an enduring house in Nigeria.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Sokoto State has received no fewer than 100,000 defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Malam Bashir Mani, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the APC leader in Sokoto state, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, said that the new entrants into the APC were received by Wamakko on Wednesday, during the party’s campaign in Sokoto North and Sokoto South Local Governments.

NAN reports that Over 88,000 of the defectors were hitherto the executives and members of the SDP drawn from the 23 LGAs of the state.

Others were the executives and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ), from eight out of the eleven wards in Goronyo local government. Some were the members of the Traders Association at Kasuwar Kanawa, Sokoto South Local Government, while the rest were from Kofar Atiku, in Sokoto metropolis, among others.

Sen. Wamakko welcomed the defectors into the fold of the APC and lauded them for their timely decision.

Senator Wamakko again reiterated the resolve of the APC to focus on issues-based campaigns, and not campaign of calumny, deception and lies.

“The recent gubernatorial debate conducted in Sokoto has vindicated us that , our gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu is a vibrant youth, who is highly qualified to effectively and efficiently govern the state, to more greatness .

“The debate has also exposed his main rival as a candidate who lacks the desired focus and direction, devoid of any meaningful programmes and policies.

“Let me again stress that, if elected , our gubernatorial candidate and his running mate would scrap the wasteful and deceitful education levy, while refunds would be fully made to the workers,” the lawmaker said.

Wamakko further appealed to the electorate in the State, to massively vote President Muhammadu Buhari and the candidates of the APC at all levels.

Aliyu, the governorship candidate and his running mate, Alhaji Faruk Yabo promised to consolidate on the tangible achievements of Wamakko when he was the Governor of the state, between 2007 and 2015.

The duo described the APC as the party to beat , just as they vowed to accord priority to revamping agriculture, education, health , women and youths empowerment, as well as rejuvenating the local and state civil services, among others.

The Chairman of the State Campaign Council, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi and director-general Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman declared PDP dead and buried in the state.

The State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Isa Achida, expressed optimism that the party’s candidates, at all levels, would be massively voted for during the polls.

...NNPC to begin oil, gas drilling search in Benue — Buhari

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State said, yesterday, that the state belongs to President Muhammadu Buhari.

This is even as the president announced that Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, will soon commence drilling for a deeper search for oil and gas in the Benue trough.

The governor, who stated this while receiving the president who was on a campaign in the state at Nigerian Airforce Base, Makurdi, also said the president could do whatever he wished in the state, being the President of Nigeria.

He said: “He is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and whatever he is doing, it is our responsibility to give him adequate protocol.

“He is our President, and this is beyond party… so I am doing all the needful. There is no special thing in what I am doing, it is what I am supposed to do as governor of Benue State, irrespective of party because he remains my President and I respect him.

“I have no personal issues with him; we talk about policies and issues, there is no personal grudge. So, I am here to receive him, and I have made adequate arrangement. This state belongs to Mr President. So he has access, he can be here and do whatever he wants.”

Ortom defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in July, having fallen out with the Federal Government.

Speaking while addressing traditional rulers at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi, President Buhari announced that NNPC will soon commence drilling for a deeper search for oil and gas in the Benue Trough.

He said the oil and gas drilling search in the Benue Tough will be the next after commencement of drilling in Kolmani River area, located within Bauchi and Gombe states.

He recalled that as Minister of Petroleum in the 70s, he had seen “very interesting seismic surveys” that revealed discovery of oil and gas from the Chad Basin through the Benue Trough down to the Delta region.

According to him, for mostly commercial reasons, investment was directed to Niger Delta, given the promise of quicker results.

He narrated past efforts by him as Military Head of State to diversify the country’s sources of oil to strengthen its unity, promising that his administration will intensify efforts in this direction.

Buhari welcomed the observation by the Tor Tiv, His Royal Majesty, Professor James Ayatse, that peace had been restored to Benue State and the fact that he had so far conducted a decent and a peaceful campaign.

The President promised to look at requests for more roads, bridges and tertiary institutions made by the royal father.

Earlier, the Tor Tiv had expressed appreciation to Buhari for the manner he had conducted a peaceful campaign, without riots, violence, stressing that the president had set good example.

“We had a challenging time in 2016. Thanks for your intervention, for accepting our appeal to step up security. Operation Whirl Strike has succeeded in chasing away violent herders.”

He also called for a closer look at the border to stop “criminals and bandits” from crossing into Nigeria.
