My Outdoor Panasonic Unit is leaking. It is an Aluminium condenser. The original place leaking was welded and it worked perfectly for two days and leaked again from a different point. The people I have spoken to said Aluminium cannot be fixed that if welded, another point will leak. So is this hopeless? |

As Lagos State celebrates its 50th anniversary, more people are being recognised for their contribution to various sectors of the Lagos economy and one of them is Maryam Elisha, CEO of Rikaoto by ME, top designer of red carpet and pageant dresses and serial entrepreneur. Since becoming a fashion designer shortly after her reign as Miss Valentine, the Rikaoto by ME brand has clothed lots of celebrities and beauty pageant contestants, helping to promote the patronage of made in Nigeria brands. The ex-model who wasn’t expecting such recognition from the Lagos State Government, was indeed shocked. “I had no idea I was even being considered,” she said. “When I saw it on the Third Mainland Bridge, I had to look twice to be sure it was me.” It isn’t the first time Miss Elisha would be associated with the Lagos state government. Under the Fashola administration, she was named an Environmental Ambassador during the campaign for people living with HIV, AIDS. “I feel very honoured to be recognised by the Lagos State Government, especially seeing my face among those top personalities who I always look up to. It definitely shows how Lagos truly is a land for all irrespective of whether you are super big or upcoming.” The designer who was named Best Designer of the Year, 2016 by Qhue Concepts, believes she wouldn’t have achieved ten percent of all she has achieved so far, if she hadn’t been in Lagos. “Of course being in Lagos contributed to getting me to where I am today,” she said. “Though I am from Kebbi state, it is Lagos that has paved the way for my businesses. There are lots of business opportunities here and when it comes to entertainment, Lagos is just the place to be.” Miss Elisha also runs an NGO ‘Save Tomorrow Today’, which has been involved in mentoring and sponsoring street children to school here in Lagos state since 2006. Lagos state was created on May 27th, 1967 by the General Yakubu Gowon’s government.

Maryam Elisha, CEO of Rikaoto by ME, escaped the clutches of death yesterday, March 13th, when her Mercedes Benz G-Wagen caught fire on the Eko Bridge, Lagos. The fire was first noticed by other road users, who called her attention to it just as she climbed the bridge. Miss Elisha, who confirmed this incidence on the phone, said that she tried to stop the car immediately, but the brakes failed. “When the car eventually started to slow down, I put it on park and tried to open the door, which wouldn’t open until people came to my aid and helped me out before the fire spread everywhere,” she said. The incident which resulted in a bit of traffic happened around 3:00PM, and was caught on video by Miss Elisha herself. The designer of red carpet and pageantry dresses is doing okay and very thankful for life. Miss Elisha, a friend of the house, was on the cover of our Drive Magazine, August edition, 2016. The entire Zayzee team, felicitate her on her safety. ©Uzezi Adesite www.zayzeewrites.com

I love my boobs or I used to love my boobs a lot. They were the perfect size and fit for my size 8 body and my 5 feet 7 inches height. Though I never told anyone who asked, my answer really to what part of my body I loved most is/was my boobs. I wouldn’t have minded a little bigger though; just a little bigger. The reason of course is so that after doing mother duty of breastfeeding, I wouldn’t become flat chested if you know what I mean. Becoming flat chested at my very young age scares the living daylight out of me. Anyway, I thought pregnancy would get me a little bigger. But first pregnancy came and went, breastfeeding came and went, bigger did not come. Instead, I lost a little stability. Pregnancy no 2 came and went, bigger still did not show. A friend asked me if Miss Boobs are still intact after breastfeeding. I said I don’t know, since I am still nursing. But going by the way this boy deals with me all in the name of feeding eh, it scares me to think of what I and the husband will have left once we stop nursing. But I am holding on to one hope sha. Believe me or not, I definitely have been praying for restoration of my boobs after breastfeeding. Will my prayers be answered? Hmm, only time will tell. www.zayzeewrites.com

Hmm, I have just happened on this post. Suicide is never an option. Depression is very real and many things can lead to it. I worked on a lady's book recently. She did go the length of hanging herself but God saved her. The fan refused to work. She lived to tell her story in her book 'At The Edge Of Suicide', and offered tips on how people can overcome depression, speaking from her own experience. You can get the book for free on Okada books or download the PDF version at http://zayzeewrites.com/at-the-edge-of-suicide-2/ @Dr. Vivian, very commendable work.God bless you. More people need to speak about depression because a lot of people ignore it. And we are living in times when the situation of things could trigger some to cross the very thin line between life and death, by committing suicide. If you are still looking for ways to give out the ebook for free in Nigeria, you can just upload it unto your website if you have one, or publish it on Okada books or Smashwords. That will make for easy download. And for the hardcopies and coming up with how winners can be selected, I have some options. It would also be nice if you could partner with a Psychologist or experienced counselor to have some free counseling sessions with some of the people that reached out to you here on Nairaland. ( Forgive me if you have already done that)I know some experienced counselors. @bemagnify, kehmeh, jnize2, drmikeadams - I hope you guys have gotten help. If you haven't, please please, talk to a trusted person. Someone whose words you respect, someone you admire. If you can, get out of the environment that triggers your depression, until you overcome it. I pray help locates you soon, if it hasn't already. |

The new edition of Drive magazine is out! Our theme for this June edition is ‘The Assassin Called Comfort Zone’. In this edition: -Meet Seyitola Adams, the girl who attempted suicide, but lived to tell her story. -5 businesses you can start without capital. -Meet Nwafor Victoria, a young and intelligent CEO -‘The Entrepreneur’ who is living her dream as her hobby brings her money. -Forget your degree. Start a business. -And the captivating and inspiring columns Download your free copies at www.zayzeewrites.com/drive Interview Intro: 23 and enterprising, Nwafor is building an empire I first crossed paths with Victoria in the virtual world, back in 2014. We were both members of a Facebook business group and it was the showcase of her products that caught my attention. The then 21 year old Business Administration/Management undergraduate of the Yaba Colleges of Technology, Lagos, told me in an interview that she was self-trained in her Ankara accessories making craft. Though her company, NVP Fashion World, named after herself (Nwafor Victoria Peace) was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2014, her business began back in 2013. Her motivation to follow this fashion path was born out of her love for fashion. “I really love looking good, so I take the time to design what I wear and when I noticed that I could make matching shoes and bags, I took up the skill and never looked back,” she said. In addition to Ankara shoes and bags, she also makes dresses, accessories like bangles, earrings, necklaces, hair accessories, hand fans and note books. “I make the note books as souvenirs for parties.” Operating in a very competitive market, Victoria still dedicates time to train others in the craft. She describes herself as someone who loves to impact lives with knowledge, sharing the gift that was freely given to her by God. Another reason for her training sessions she said, is the high rate of unemployment in the country. “I believe that if women and youths can get their hands on a form of skill, it would help them with little finance and also reduce unemployment in the country, one way or another,” she said. One of her challenges back then was the fact that she wasn’t taken seriously due to her age, an issue that most attendees of her trainings had when they came face to face with her. But that was then and this is now. In this interview two years later, Victoria discusses the market, new challenges, self-empowerment amongst others.

Interview excerpts: You have been in the industry for some years now and have achieved so much. How did you get this far in such a short time? Just like I mentioned, I am someone who is not limited by the situations and conditions around me. I am someone who likes to turn those rains and despairs into success. I found a need. There are some people who are looking for a touch a class and that is exactly the area where we are filling in. Funny enough NextHomes has never done an advert in any media. The highest we have done is our Facebook page but we have done business with people from almost every continent in the world. We have clients all over. We have been in alliance with so many businesses all over the world. What we have done is to identify our market and to work tirelessly to achieve our aims and goals. And one of the secrets is this; it’s a number game. We knew our target and we are working so hard to provide information that they can never get elsewhere about the construction industry in Nigeria. The secrets, the tips, and those things that you need to know. The investment tips and how to avoid being ripped off and so many other resources that can be useful to a first-time homeowner especially those who are across the borders. When you give us something, you get something in return. Most people do not always look at it from that angle. How do you find your international clients if you never advertise? Or do you advertise outside Nigeria? No. We have online forums and platforms where we showcase our projects. On these forums there are people that want to associate with the name NextHome. There are architects, there are suppliers and other people in the industry that want to be associated with us. So it is a case of each one reach one. One person might be recommending us ‘oh, I know a builder that can do this’. Another is like ‘I know a company that is a specialist in this’. So it is word of mouth and I tell you, word of mouth sells much more than any advert you can think of because we already have a satisfied guide; most of these people have been spreading the news even without us doing anything. The Embracing Challenges, April Edition of Drive Magazine is Out! Download your free copy at www.zayzeewrites.com/drive In this edition, our aim is to give you reasons why you should follow your heart and do what you love. As you will read in our cover interview, Detola Amure took her passion to the next level and many mothers have her to thank for it.
