@fm7070- where in Agege is the Annex campus or is it the one near Big Treat, Omole? |

@ rabzy- I am shocked NOUN is doing that. And I thought they were better than all others. I will visit the school next week to find out. @ loverboy+- lol at up-coming journalist. Thanks anyway. I am almost ten years in this profession. Truth is in this age of internet connectivity, things are made a whole lot easier as you hear things easily you can later investigate to make a good story. The issue of sex for grades or pay with your body before I graduate you has been going on for years now. Not alot of girls are bold enough to talk about it or expose the lecturers in the act because of several reasons. And there is also that part where others demand money for grades. All these have contributed to the fall in the standard of education. So if anyone can really be bold and give accurate details with names schools, department, victims and predators involved, then lecturer will definitely be approached and questioned. And in cases like this, one person speaks, others start coming out to be witnesses and one day, the system might be free of such practices. And this also includes staff of schools asking for money so they can give you admission. If you passed, and are truly qualified to be admitted, why pay touts? @ excel111- your details please for confirmation? |
@SUV- and what makes you think I don't do all that? The fact that I said I will take complains, does not mean those are my main stories sir or ma. @ paraphase- I don't understand. names of schools and department should also be included please. @ blank- what is the essence of covering injustice or something that is newsworthy? Students pay for their education, it isn't free. The institutions should treat students with respect instead of behaving as though they are just doing you a favour. Reporting them to the world is the only way to call them to order. @ excel111- okay. I will publish your complain |
Hi, Narialanders, I am a journalist that covers Education for Business Hallmark Newspapers. Do you have any kind of complain whatsover about what is going on in your school that you think the public should know about, or about the education system? If you do, just post it, I will make it public if you want. |
@ segcy.moor- I didn't know. Now I know. |
thank you sir. I appreciate the prompt response. |
Please, anyone who is an architect here that can help me with this info. How to build on a swampy land so the house does not sink later on. Is it advisable to do storey buildings on a swampy land or bungalows are better? And please what are the signs that a house needs to be renovated? Pleas please please, I need this. Its for a story I am writing. I report properties in Business Hallmark Newspaper, and I will give the architect who contributes his or her full credit and make sure I get the paper across to him/her. Thanks. |

Hi doc, had chicken pox in 2008 and one healed out, causing an annoying bump. Nothing has worked in getting rid of it. At times it itches. How can I get rid of it? Mrs. Kem09- pls is there a good hospital in Agege you can recommend? We r looking for a hospital to register our family here and I dont want to have to go to Ikeja. |
Does anyone know how much building a 3 bedroom bungalow will cost apart from the land? Is there an architect here who can help? what are the necessary steps to be taken? |
3 miserable seeds of tomato for N50 is crazy. Before I make stew with a total of N200 tomatoes and pepper for two people and it last for four days. Now, N400 worth of tomatoes and pepper to make stew does not last at all. things are so expensive it is scary. I hope other commodities wouldn't join o. Even plantian don waka. How are you guys coping? |
very interesting. I just stumbled on this thread today. Pls can someone tell me the present cost of building materials? cement, nails, iron rods, sand, wood etc, what else? I think it will be best to sink a borehole at the site of houses to avoid buying. @ spyder880- this thread is really nice. good job you started here |
someone just told me Super Bite is way better than Gala. Dont think I know it. When Meaty came out, I used to buy it alot, but I have gradually returned to Gala. It fills differently and I totally cant stand it or any other sausage with La casera. Dont know how people can drink it. |
There is Gala, over 50 years in the market. There is Meaty and Bigi. Which others do you know off that are being sold out there? Do you patronize any of them? Which is your favourite and how healthy are they? |

it's for a story i am working on |
What can anyone tell me about Nigerian Guinness and their stocks? And the coca cola product also. Are their future in the Nigerian economy secure? |
I don come again with questions. Please bear with me nairalanders. Which of Guinness Nigerian products do you patronize and why? Their products include -Guinness Extra Stout -Malta Guinness -Harp -Smirnoff Ice -Gordon’s Spark -Guinness Extra Smooth |
@ Blazay- u r definitely female. lol at your analysis of what Igbo and Yoruba women will do in the case of cheating. im neither of the tribes. I be proper Bendel/Delta/Isoko/yoruba by marriage. As per cheating, from a Christians point of view: we preach forgiveness. It is not easy sha! truth is no one can tell how he or she will react in the same situation. It is easy to say now. |
lol Blazay. are you male or female? your profile says male. I like your analysis, but is it really that easy? Funny enough many women in the Niger Delta do just that. they know the girlfriends of their husbands and even discuss said girls with their husbands. I no fit o. I don't think its good for the relationship to allow the man know you don't care. What do you think Blazay? |
Cheating is almost unforgivable in the Western World. What about here? Can you leave your spouse because he/she cheated? The recent sex scandals in the news are of Arnold Schwarzenegger, actor and former governor of California and Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Chief of International Monetary Fund, IMF. Arnold and wife announced their separation and we learnt later that it was because he confessed to her about his love child. And with a woman who has lived and worked in their house for the past 20 years! And he and wife were married for 25 years! Back in 2008, Strauss admitted is sexcapade and publicly apologised and his wife stayed with him. On his recent scandal, she said he didn't do it. I believe he didn't also considering the way the story is being played. Will you leave your spouse because he/she cheated? |
Interesting guys. I interviewed the Executive Secretary of the Lasgos State Vocational and Technical Education Board (LASTVEB) today because of the story on technical schools i am doing and i was impressed. there are a lot we dont know about these schools. students are been recruited from their second year before they graduate by organisations in search of their skills and sending them on more training. and yes, some of them proceed to the university. they do not write WAEC but NABTEB- National Business and Technical Education Board exams and their certificate is NTC- National Technical Certificate. So they go into the university with five credits also namely- maths, physis, chemistry, biology and any of their hand work they choose. and in reality, many of us have flair for hand work but weren't encouraged by our parents to pursue them. another reason why so many are unemployed, today we have a lot of graduates going back to pursue their dreams that involve handwork. my father insisted i must study medicine because i was good at the sciences he forced me to take instead of arts, but i am not a doctor today but a writer and journalist and recently, i have been yearning to go learn fashion designing. I pray for this country everyday. I do want a better place for my children. |
I posted this on the education thread but I think I will get more response here. As a parent, will you allow your child to attend a Technical College in Nigeria? If yes or no, why? And will you agree to attend a technical college if you were/are a secondary school student? |
I have posted this on the education thread, but I feel I will get better response from here. As a parent, will you allow your child to attend a Technical College in Nigeria as against the normal secondary school? If yes or no, why? Will you agree to attend a technical college if you were or are still in secondary school? |
