What's wrong with what he wrote? If they don't permit drinking then certainly the right thing to do is to cut off all allocations generated from consumption of alcohol too. Is'nt that what he meant? Now the man (From a supportive family) earns 100K and decides to Marry. That is #1,200,000 per annum (1.2M).
His expected expenditure should look like this:
➡️Cost of wedding =Free (Family Sponsors).
➡️ House rent =Free (Has 2 rooms in his family house).
➡️ Electricity Bill (2K a month X 1 year) = #24,000.
➡️Feeding with wife and kid/s (At least 2K a day X 1 year)= #730,000.
➡️Clothing =Nil (He doesn't change clothes ).
➡️Wife Expenditure = Nil (Her parents supports her and fends for her in his house )
➡️Baby Diapers = Nil (Baby wears Napkin).

➡️Transportation to work (500 Naira per day X at least 270 days a year) =#135,000.

Our man will be left with #178,000 (178K) at the end of the year in review.

⚠️You will observe that I was extremely prudent in the expenditure, in the hope that both his family and the wife's family support the marriage which is most times unlikely; what applies is that you the man is the one supporting them instead.

⚠️ I only added basic RECURRENT costs and didn't account for emergencies like Healthcare, or even miscellaneous. I also obviously avoided school fees, baby wears, etc.

❓Can you marry with 100K income? YES & NO!

You can if you already have a room in your parents house, your family and her family is supportive financially and otherwise, you like stress and you are comfortable with your current financial status (as marrying at this stage will give you little room for financial improvement and growth)

But if you desire to grow financially, break the chain of poverty, value your peace of mind, want to give your family the best and live in a city where you pay for rent and other things, then it'll be a suicide mission to marry with a 100K income.

My 2 cents

Indeed, different strokes for different folks. When I was single, my salary was N45,000, and although that sum had some value back then, I found no compelling reason to marry. However, under the same salary, I met a young woman who was serving as a corps member at the time. It was she who made me believe that marriage was possible, even with the meager salary I was earning. I am not one to beg or seek assistance, but before we knew it, I had accumulated a substantial fund for the wedding. Support came from various quarters, and thus we were wed. This all transpired seven years ago. As of now, my salary stands at N100,000, although I often earn significantly more through my side ventures. She only began a salaried position this year, earning slightly above N100,000. Throughout these seven years, we have weathered both sunny days and challenging times, as any couple does. Through all these, at least I have a car, two children, live in a quite decent 3 bedroom rented appartment. The choice of partner is of significant importance. If you can manage to live comfortably on N100k as a single man, it is certainly feasible to maintain tranquility with an exceptional and compatible woman who will support your growth. If you marry a zombie, the ones everywhere who suck blood and money like the few exes I met before meeting my wife, high BP will finish you if you try my style.

People talk everyday, people listen too, to explicit words sometimes. Somehow the same set of people complain about other people who listen to music, which are also words. The first time I heard that phrase "worldly music" was around 2002. So you don't think messages, good messages can be passed on by some of these music even better than preaching? Are the words in music not almost the same words people speak daily? Why not tell everybody to stop talking except if the only thing they have to say are "the words of God". We must remember that Mohammed Yusuf who the police killed extra judicially, was in handcuffs when he was killed in Borno. The police claimed he was exchanging fire with them. How did someone the Nigerian army arrested, cuffed and handed over to the police, manage to get a gun? His hands were cuffed behind his back! Yusuf was silenced to protect the sponsors of Boko Haram.

In vengeance, Boko Haram started targeting uniform personnel exclusively. In one week alone, they killed over 11 policemen. They have grown more deadly since then.

Below is the picture of Yusuf when the Nigerian army arrested him. Notice that his hands were behind his back. He was handcuffed. Less than 5 hours later, the Nigerian police killed him.

That singular act by the police is why terrorists and Boko haram have spread massively since.
