Everything you just wrote here confirms it all. 1997-2004 is 6years....so after his sudden rise in 2001 he slowly disappeared and he was ranked in 2004. Please he joined man Utd in 2010 or so, plulease where was the remaining 6 years of his "illustrious" career. Owen never was and can never be regarded as one of the game's great players... He is best regarded as probably the greatest "prodigy" who never had the career he should have, which just places him on the same overhyped but irrelevant list only just maybe at number 15 position....

Manucho and lukaku and Eduardo should be number one.
