Thanks Mod (iice). You can delete the new thread I started, thanks. ************ Lol. Wow, apparently my laptop is *not working* as i can't reply or post on the thread I started. I just want to say thanks for the nice replies to all who posted and sorry you didn't get the whole thing. But I'll just make it clear that i do know exactly what I want. I am a happy person and it's just a phase i'm going through, resolving this issue. I've been single before this and I LOVED it. But truth is it's better to have a genuine friend to share with, especially when you are in a new environment. Lesson learned: I wont put up any personal sh*t here, The issue was close to my heart and I didn't like the smart ass responses. Naija style for u. So I'm not mad. Take care all. (just in case my laptop stops working again) ****************** Please let this topic die here. A la prochain. |
My dear, continue with the court proceedings on the basis of domestic violence. It is not love if you're going through all this, your life comes first. I know someone who's been through a similar situation but now she has moved on with her life, got her own place, has a steady job, is going to school and is making ends meet for herself. You can take a loan if you need financial support. If all these things are not working in your favour, then go back to your family. Family comes first and they love you best. There is no need for you to suffer and God forbid, die in another man's land. Dont become a statistic. Dont put your trust in men. Never ever. God is our only means, OK? |

There are plenty fine girls oh, The truth is not enough handsome guys to match, Where they at?? Edo state? Please more of you should move to Abj. |
Or your friend, rather. |
I dont like hearing all this "women are ungrateful" b.s. Men can be ungrateful too. Before you sent her to school did you come to an agreement on how she would repay you? |
When i landed in MMA after 5 years out of the country, the first thing i noticed was EYE SHADOW. Eye shadow everywhere (the most popular colour being gold). Streaks of brightly colored eyeshadow everywhere i looked. Naija babes tend to overdo it on the makeup and accessories. And then you see our big girls squeezing into tight jeans and tops, then end up looking like sausages. And please dont attack me yet, I haven't finished. In other countries they keep it simple. A nice simple outfit, lipgloss, a little eyeliner, brush your eyebrows and you're good. When you're going out for maybe dinner, clubbing, or a special occasion then you can bring on the clothes and makeup. But in Naija, a girl can go clubbing with the same makeup (even clothes) she wore during the day. It's not a rat race for the richest man nor is it a beauty competition, We need to take it easy abeg. We're looking like Lady GaGa all day. And it has rubbed off on me I'll admit. I wear a little more makeup, accessorize a little more. And it's good on me as long as i don't overdo it. |

olafolarin:Lmao myennnn, we are hilarious. |
But she is ugly. |
faakay:Lmao @ this, It's true. "Be slow to anger and slow to speak" I'm a very quiet girl. But try me and i'll lay your as* out. The moral of the story is make sure that what you're holding within you is intelligent and sensible. My favourite type of guy is the silent and strong type. |
lovemoi2:hold your bitter sarcasm madam. This is a forum for people to write on. Since you've heard it a million times, re-write it. I wonder how your version ends. |
You guys like being difficult. I'm deleting it. Whoever is moderating can delete the rest, Jeez. |
Godmother, I didn't see any character limit? |

Secret #2: Relax and take notes. ![]() |
I was only a moderate reader in school, mostly studying the night/morning before the exam/test. But i came out as a Dean's lister and a 1st class graduate. My secret? Guess I'm just a genius. Seriously guys, here's the secret: Pay attention in class! |
@zeedeeYes sweetie, RUSHED to banks. Most RUSHED because there were lured. And weren't confident enough to try something else. Ah, bank job dey open? Make we go oh. Dem dey pay well well. If it looks too good to be true, then it's not real. I cant imagine, slaving away like a robot from 7.30 am to 7.30pm for something that's not bettering my life or adding any value to my person. Look at this: banks had resorted to recruiting OND graduates. Any jackie, right? I've been approached several times to work in some bank or the other because "you're fair and fine, and the men would answer you." Any talk about my academic qualifications? Nope. Keep laughing, in xhosa if u wish. |
Um, who else noticed how the article suddenly veered off the topic and settled on psychology? Weird. Now that's out of the way. I knew something like this would happen. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Mass banking sector employment had to eventually equal something right? The industry leaders knew this would happen, and yet had no bones about using their fellow man. It's really a dog eat dog world. I feel sorry for the people that rushed into banks. Who says there are no jobs in Nigeria? This should encourage us to be educated, informed, prudent and discerning in whatever choices we make. |
Omg he's engaged?? I don't care who he's engaged to. They should return to Abuja asap. He'll be MINE!!! Mwuahahaha. |
Suit, suit, suit. Nigerians have copied suit from the white men and turned it into an impractical UNIFORM. Even the oyibos dont wear suits like we do lol. Everybody that has a 'job' now wears a suit. Standing under the sun, boarding buses, walking along the streets in SUITS. Please wear what matches your status in life and what 'suits' you. Now onto banks, This is tricky because if you want their job, you'd have to conform to their rules. IF they have it written in their workplace practices that you MUST wear a suit to the bank, then by all means please do. It's just that so many people assume that working in a bank = wearing a suit. Don't follow blind conformity. Dress SMART and RESPONSIBLE to work. You aint gotta wear a bloody suit lol. If I had an interview at a bank (that did not explicitly tell me what to wear for the interview) and wore something smart, say a nice silky long sleeve blouse, tucked into a belted skirt and a pair of funky black pumps, and knowing my capabilities didn't pass the interview because "you didn't wear a suit." I'd say, "Go to blazes, bumbling ignorant bafoons. I don't need your enslaving job in the first place." (Note the lack of exclamation marks). That's just my opinion guys. This is my first post on nairaland, so forgive the length, I just want y'all to get a good measure of my personality. Expect a bit of sarcasm from me most of the time. ![]() Bisou! |

Maybe your own type of quiet is dulling a.k.a mumusky!
