I will only ask u a few questions.

1. Do u wann see opportunity as an engineer in oil companies, Recycling Firm, Manufacturing industries, Mining And Benficiation Industry, Heat Treatment and Materials Standardizing Firms?

2. Or u wann end up as a technician in Disco company or Electronics Manufacturing company, where Engnieers work less and rule over you?

Just that Nigerians are short sighted. What does cut off mark has to do with opportunities u get to exploit in studying a course. What actually determine how a cut off mark is raised is the number of applicants applying to study the particular course as due to how popular or primitiive it's and that's very simple, not a bench mark for measuring intelligence. it's a very simple analysis that we keep failing at.

So my simple advice to every aspirant is to always look for opportunities in a particular profession and not how popular a course is.
I am not myopic. I said he should go for the Bsc. Don't many Universities give Bsc.Eng?
I said he should do it regardless of the cut off and learn skills

Thank God you've went through my Post. I won't pretend Veterinary Medicine is in its average point in Nigeria but it is a course that makes you an entrepreneur and very versatile. Veterinarians work in Agro industries (My chief concentration).
We don't play second fiddle in our profession. We are the boss of our fields. Even Animal Scientist trying to show their face know their boundaries. At Least in my profession my Tussle is with Animal Scientist and I don't get to play second fiddle.
In the Nigeria Centre for Disease and Control (NCDC) have a unit for Zoonoses where Veterinarians man the department.
The Veterinary department of ABU in conjunction with FUTMINNA was given a contract to build ventilators and they did spectacularly well.
We produce a substantial amount of our Drugs and Vaccines in Nigeria which is used.
We have our own Postgraduate college with several specialities involved and we don't need the approval of any Health Professional.
We are a branch of Medicine and it is globally accepted. In the UK, the newly released sorted health skill is Veterinary not even Nursing, your internet will do you good.
Many states Pay Veterinarians CONMESS in case you don't know check. We have quarantine department all over the federation where we monitor Animals and Animal products.
We are Licensed to import drugs, serums, other products and Animals whereas Pharmacist imports drugs, serums for humans only.
Medical Doctors respect us in their own light.
The top Renowned African Virologist is a Veterinarian incase you don't Know.
We can decide to take of Farm Animals or pets. We work in Zoonotic facilities all over the Federation.
Now as a Nurse what can you do with your degree aside treating People?

You are kidding right? Nigerian doctors are really some of the most hateful professionals out there. They are the only professionals known to have threatened to go on strike if the remunerations of other healthcare professionals are improved.
To put things in perspective, doctors in Canada threaten to go on strike if the welfare of other healthcare professionals isn't improved.
Hateful? A Doctor in any country in the world earns far higher than all other Allied Health professionals you know? They're right to protest incase you don't know. If a Nurse starting salary in the UK is increased to thirty thousand pounds you will see protest. A principal can never earn similar salary with a Teacher in the school. You don't ask for equality blindly.

Allied Health refers to professionals out of the 'Medical' sphere. They include Nurses, Pharmacists, Optometrist, Laboratory scientist, Radiographers, Physiotherapist/Medical Rehabilitation in Nigeria.
Medical means 'Medicine'. I don't want to talk the US here because they offer some Degrees which can't be used in many places of the world as it is used in the country.
In Nigeria there are only three existing which is ; Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine. These professions operate independently except in Nigeria and some countries where Dentist are with Medicine because the country has poor oral health.
Now the problem in Nigeria now is more of a matter of greed rather than 'delivering' essential services.
Many professions in the Allied Health have extended their "degree" to six years because they want to bear the "Doc" title not because of creating better ways of helping the patients in general. One thing we must remember is that no matter how long you make the duration, it can never be a branch of Medicine.
Radiographers are Image Technologist whose job is to use advance Technology to get right images of the internal environment of people or Animals if need be. They also prep patients for Scan. Once this scan is made into radiographs it is sent to the Radiologist for reading and Diagnostics. The Radiographer has no right whatsoever in any country to diagnose patients. It is of recent that Msc in Diagnostic Radiography which has given Radiographers a bit liberty to read Radiographs as a result of the tedious jobs done by Radiologists. Even at that, a Signature of a Radiologist is needed. In hospitals it under the 'Radiology' department.
Laboratory scientist major aim is similar to Radiographers which is drawing blood and running various test as prescribed by the Doctor or Nurse if need be. Diagnostics isn't part of the scope of Laboratory science world wide. Then the test results are sent to doctors for reading. Direct sending of results to doctors to read is done only if the Pathologist is unavailable in the region.
Pathologist 'Medical' doctor reads the test result, analyses it for defaults, make suggestions and send it to the Medical Doctor. In Hospitals in all countries have a Pathologist who mans the Lab.
Medical Laboratory Science was created as a need to make work easier for Pathologists who wouldn't be able to run tests, research and still read results. Simply put it as 'Fill a void'
In countries Like UK, US they're under the Pathology association but here in Nigeria it is a rift because they can't subject themselves to higher authority.
A Radiologist goes overboard by operating machines, A pathologist goes overboard when he decides to start running an Analyser etc.
One other problem is asking for 'Equal' pay which isn't feasible considering it is not done anywhere in the world.
My prayer is for everybody to know his /her Job and do it effectively.
Good morning

We cannot!!! cheesy And don't even want to.

The slogan has changed to "equal, but different" and at surface glance, it makes sense, but when analysed deeply, you realise it's such a contradiction.

Feminists are clamouring for equality in all respects, but they truly don't want it all. Infact, many of them have never thought deeply about these things They just focus on the few narratives that serve them.
Exactly. A Little more fairness won't hurt not Equality

Romance / Are Many Women Confusing The Words Equality And Fairness? by Zeeknow3245(m): 4:25pm On Mar 28, 2021
Severally we have many women Clamouring for Gender Equality. They want to be here, they want to be there. They want to be heads of this department, head of that department. Do all the Jobs Men are doing etc etc.
But why are they deliberately confusing themselves.
'Equality' as the name implies means the state of something being 'Same' or 'Equal' while 'Equity' on the other hand simply means 'Fairness' or in Law 'Justice'.
They are mostly misunderstood words
For example; I have two Children of Ages 10 and 12 respectively and I decide to give each of them 3 oranges respectively that is equality. On the other hand I have 4 oranges and I decide to give the one 10; one and the half and the other 12 two and the half, that is fairness.
So in our modern day world we must agree realistically speaking many countries have succeeded in giving women some Level of Equality in terms of Jobs, positions etc. But it can never be a Total equality that incomplete equality is simply 'Equity'.
If Women are saying they deserve equality, they should be ready to do tough Jobs. Women are already doing tough Jobs from bricklaying, bricklaying etc. But what some women have forgotten is that if you say you want total Equality can you fufill your Role independently? Would you be able to make split second rational decisions? Would you be able to Mold a brick for 3hrs stretch without flinching? Would you be able to Lift those heavy loads by yourself during oil drilling, Welding etc like the Way men do? Or do all Jobs from minng to Underwater Arc drilling, pipe fitting, Using diggers in quarries etc.If you say it is because Men are more likely to have Physical strength then automatically, you're accepting total Equality isn't possible.
We must accept Men have a lot of short comings like Many men have Vowed after entering Marriage that they won't cook, tidy up places or even wash their own clothes.
Let us put it this way now. For example as a Man you get back from work around 6pm in the evening and your wife who works arrives similar period. Don't you think doing some basic home tidying while the wife cooks and bathe the children would go along way in getting things done?
Many men see the above things make you less of a Man but it is wrong, It is called 'common sense'. Sane environments we look up to have their men doing basic tidying; taking out the trash, basic cleaning, cooking, groceries, taking children and bringing them back etc. The woman does it as well but don't have to tell the man to do it. This is why many Nigerians that get married abroad do these things because you would be probed by your Neighbours who can report you to the government.
Doing the afforementioned doesn't make you a Simp or Less of a Man, It makes you a Leader. You may not know what Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos or some Richer dudes who have money do basically.
As for the women if you want total Equality, do all the Jobs Men do, Pay equal bills, do everything that ought to be 'Equal' should be. until then enjoy your 'Equity'
Feel free to drop or criticize.
