RSAMAN: I take that back.we cool, no hard feelings. |
Fed up with incessant robbery attacks on the community, residents of Oworonsoki Local Council Development Area of Lagos State on Friday defied death as they challenged four armed robbers suspected to have been terrorising the area. They eventually ended up disarming the robbers and rounding them up. But three of the robbers managed to escape. One was, however, not that lucky. The suspect, who was identified as Eyinna, was said to have been beaten up by the mob before the arrival of the police at the scene. The armed robber was said to have been caught because he could not run fast enough to escape the mob due to an injury he had on his foot. An eyewitness, who craved anonymity for security reason, said the robbers had used the opportunity of the usual early morning traffic on the Olopo Meji end of the Oworonsoki Expressway, to rob car owners of their valuables. Spurred on by the degree of their success, they were said to have tried to rob a woman of her Honda Accord car when the victim raised the alarm which drew the attention of residents. He added that as the men dragged the steering with the woman, the car crashed into another vehicle which was also stuck in the early morning heavy traffic. He said, “It was around 6am on Friday morning. People suddenly began hearing a woman screaming for help on Berger Bus Stop. We all rushed to the scene. “When the robbers saw that the residents were not intimidated by their guns, they began to run. The people pursued them because they were determined to get them. “Three of them escaped, but people got Eyinna while he was trying to scale the fence. We saw he could not run well because he was limping.” He said a lot of money was found in the shoes of the suspect, while he was also found with handsets and other valuables. The source said the police were called to the scene after some of the angry residents had beaten Eyinna to stupor. Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect died from injuries he sustained during the beating. She said, “The Bariga Police Station indeed received a distress call that there was a mob action going on around Oworonshoki, Berger Bus Stop on Friday morning. “They discovered that it was a four-man robbery gang, that was trying to drag the steering of a car from a woman. The residents were able to apprehend only one of them. But the man could not talk, because he had been seriously injured. He died at the hospital where we rushed him to.” Braide added that the owner of the damaged vehicle had made statements to the police on the incident. Source: www.punchng.com |
RSAMAN: many hit tracks? Have you forgotten his many crap albums he has released? And even stillmatic is overrated! Pharoahe Monch has three straight stellar albums and nas cannot touch pharoahe's lyricism, flow and complex delivery. And i was using the last emperor's song as a sample, not as representation of the only thing good he has done. Get it through your thick skull, nas ain't the greatest emcee but one of the greatest, i guess you haven't heard of any of these many great emcees, they are there, you just have to know where to look. Bayelsa State Government on Wednesday demolished a one-storey private building owned by Governor Seriake Dickson because it obstructed the Right-of-Way as well as intruding on the state Capital City Master Plan. . The demolished building, which had been marked by the Capital City Development Authority on June 28, 2012, was situated along the Opolo/AIT Road, Yenagoa, the state capital. The demolition, which began about 12.48 pm, was supervised by the Deputy Governor John Jonah; Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Lawrence Ehwrudjakpor; Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Markson Fefegha; Commissioner for State Capital City Development; and Mr. Konugha Zuwa. Other structures affected by the demolition exercise included that of the Director General of the State Agency for the Control of AIDS, Dr. Temple Iluma. Jonah told journalists that the location of the Governor’s house obstructed the Right-of-Way, hence there would be no compensation for him. He said, “In line with the development control of the CCDA and urban renewal of the state, the government awarded contract for the dualisation of the road. Anyone who has built structures on the Right-of-Way should expect such buildings to be demolished. “We have been talking about the master plan as well as some areas where we have to carry out urban renewal. For the master plan, we expect every builder to go and get clearance before he or she starts to build to see the extent that he can go outside the road. “One of the houses we have found to have interfered with the plan of Yenagoa is this one-storey structure belonging to the Governor. On the advice of the CCDA that is concerned with development control of the state, the house was marked since last year for demolition. And you know we have awarded contract for the dualisation of the Opolo Road.” However, some Yenagoa residents on Wednesday said the exercise was politically-motivated, notwithstanding that the governor’s house was affected. The residents, who claimed that only a section of Dickson’s building was demolished, said the exercise was a strategy to enable the government to demolish buildings of perceived opponents without causing public outrage. None of the complaining residents however agreed to be quoted. In his comment, Ehwrudjakpor said the demolition had been on for some time and listed the affected areas to include Ovom, Igbogene, Imgbi, Diete_Spiff and Eradiri road expansion.
