Get informed on how your pharmacist can help you. Pharmacists are medication experts.Do you suffer from a chronic condition such as asthma, arthritis, or diabetes etc? Your pharmacist can work with you and your doctor to make sure you choose the best medications to look after your health. Studies have shown that half of all Nigerians do not take their prescription medications exactly as prescribed. Every year thousands of people are admitted into hospitals because they did not follow the instructions on their medication container. Do not leave the pharmacy or hospital until you fully understand how to use your medication properly. Not sure what to ask your pharmacist? Here is a list of questions you can consider: Why am I taking this medication? How and when should I take this medication? Is "four times a day" the same as "every six hours"? Do I have to wake up during the night to take my medication? Am I supposed to swallow my medicine with food or water? Is there anything I should or should not eat or drink while I am taking this medication? What should I do if I miss my dose, or take two doses close together? How will I know if this medication is working? How will I remember to take my medicine? I have allergies - is it safe for me to take this medication? Are there any side effects I should watch for? Will it make me sleepy? Will my medication interact with other drugs? Can I drink alcohol while I am taking this medication? Will it be affected by over-the-counter medications like painkillers or antacids? Will it be affected by vitamins or herbal supplements? Can I take this medication if I am pregnant or breast-feeding? When will I feel better? If I feel better can I stop taking it? When should I see my doctor? Can I get my medication in a container that is easier to open? Where should I keep my medication? |
Juntod and graviton, its ok let it slide. Thanks |
juntod: Hey, Who is talking about admission? Understand before you argue. I mean funding is highly guaranteed; one of the reasons why admission rate is low. It seems you like argument a lot. First of all, the criteria for direct admission into Phd is outstanding academic statistics. That happens to be the same main criteria for funding. So, what are you telling me? How much research have you done on Phd admission?Juntod and gravvy, you both aint understanding each other but I can see you guys are saying the same. JUntod, you are right, you get PHD admission for excellent academic and in most cases school will want to give funding, PHD is expensive without funding. You are correct. For graviton, yes, not all PHD admit leads to funding, some still pay tuition for PHD, be it engineering or any course, it all depends on the school, so before we generalize we should really understand what each schools want and even the applicants academic status and eligiblity. Like I said earlier what works for you might not work for me. |
bbdd: PLEASE I NEED ADVICEYou are fine my colleague, don't be scared in applying for PHD but don't just put your eggs in one basket that is to say apply to as many schools as possible, do your research well and also know schools that you are sure will offer you something. Good luck As men of honor we join hands, you should understand that if you a pharmacist |
This is what I use for my evaluation. It might not be 100% same wit WES but will give you an idea of what your evaluation will be like. http://em.tsu.edu/registrar/gpacc.php All thanks to texas southern university |
juntod: Well, I can't say for others. But its right for Elect Engineering cos you are researching for the school; the main reason admission rate into Phd is very low.Not only engineering, PHD admit rate is low but what works for Mr A might not work for Mr. B. If you truly want PHD you can get it if you plan yourself well |
bbdd: I'm going to use wesMy colleague, pharmacy have GP but we don't get first class,2nd up/low, 3rd in our certificate. I can see you went to UI, PHD is highly competitive, well with a 5.5/7, after evaluation you should have a 3.14/4. What are your plans, know what you want to specialize in and search for schools and you might be lucky to get in for PHD though because naija only offer B.pharm and US offer pharm D they sometimes don't welcome B.pharm for some particular masters courses, depends on the school anyways. Write a list of schools that offer your course of choice, email them all and note the one that are ready to offer you something good. I personally want to go into clinical so am going in for Pharm D so as to have an edge. Good luck |
