mrphysics:Oh sorry about that. It was about my dom account referee status. Remember I contacted you some time back? I really can't drop details here. If there's any way you can access your mail then please do. It's very urgent. |
mrphysics:Boss, I sent you a mail. |
dingbang. Is there a way to activate a device when you've lost the phone number associated with the account therefore you can't get the OTP? |
@surrogatesng How many hours can the setup power a 65watt laptop and 25 watts(light and other small appliances) ? |
zekepio:I have been waiting to quote this post! 2 years at home. Wrote Jamb 3 times! Today, I've been offered admission to study medicine and surgery. |
nkhay:@sammorad this advice is gold! |
odimbannamdi:Hello, If it's something you can't post here then I suggest you shoot me a PM. Best regards. |
I got my zealot b570 today. The bass is excellent. Battery life? I can't say much on that yet. I hate the flashing light! Every other thing works fine. |
kiekie1:Thanks for keeping to your words and offering advice for free. I did as you advised and changed the wires to 4mm and 6mm flex wires and now I get to fully charge my laptop. I am yet to know how long the battery will last on full charge. I will get that data soon and update the house. Thanks Boss. |
kiekie1:I will do that first thing tomorrow morning. Thank you. |

This is got to be the most annoying thing that has happened to me in a long while! Some days ago I made enquiries here on which brand of 100ah battery to buy and I got awesome replies but unfortunately, I couldn't find those brands in Abuja and in rare cases when I did I was given outrageous prices like 60-80k. I spoke to about 5 dealers on phone and spent over 3k on transportation visiting some seller shops before I finally found the one I bought for 40k. The name is Middle Star. Pics are attached! Prior to buying the battery, I bought a 650VA UPS. The battery in the UPS was fairly good and on a good sunny day it can give my laptop 100% by using and discharging the UPS battery at intervals! That is if I on the UPS it maybe will give the laptop 15% then it'll beep and switch off and I'll again on it after 30mins and it'll add another 15% that was how I was managing life. What do I use in charging the battery? I bought a 150watt solar panel and a 30a PMW charge controller I have been using the solar panel and the charge controller and the UPS with its battery for about 4 months! When I bought the Middle Star 100ah battery a couple of days ago I thought my worries were gone and I could now charge my laptop to 100% in one instance. But was that the case? The Dilemma I hooked up my setup and allowed it to charge till evening then plugged my laptop. Lo and behold it did not take 3 minutes for the UPS to start beeping indicating that the battery is low! This is a battery that showed a full bar on the charge controller before I plugged the laptop ooo. Yesterday I decided to experiment again. I allowed it to charge till evening and I switched on the UPS. The only load I used was a 15watt bulb and two phones. It lasted from 7 pm till 5 am when I switched it off. Note! The UPS started beeping from around 8 pm till this morning. It's almost 2 pm and I just plugged my laptop and again the UPS didn't last 5 mins before beeping and switching off. My laptop charger is rated 65watt. What could be the problem here? My intention of having this setup is to have my laptop on for at least 15hours daily and my 15watt bulb for 5 hours! My friend who has MTN LUMOS enjoys that much time on his laptop and bulb. If you can remember I made enquiries here whether to build a setup or go for MTN lumos and most of you said Setup which is reasonable considering the long term cost of MTN lumos. But Now My setup of; 150watt solar panel 100ah battery 30a charge controller 650va ups IS USELESS if I can't power my laptop for 15 hours daily. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

mrphysics:Hi Mrphysics, I trust you're alright. I'm a freelancer and I've been following you for a while. I need assistance from you. I can't put details here due to the sensitive info involved. Would you by any chance be willing to honour my PM if I send you one? Don't worry, it'll be brief and on point. Thank you and I look forward to your favourable reply. |
saint2ace:Boss, I've been doing that oo. The guy that I sealed a deal with (same person I bought charge controller from some time ago) said his price is 40k for the 100ah and it's even Croc. The price and brand is not even my problem but he doesn't have any in stock. Others that I've spoken with are calling exorbitant prices (70- 120k) it's so annoying how Nigerians easily want to cheat people in the name of making gain. |
zekepio: ceejay80s: saint2ace:I'm back again. The guy I wanted to buy from just disappointed me. He said he's out of stock. Any seller of batteries here? Location: Abuja. Needed tomorrow. |
ceejay80s:Thanks boss |
Hi all, I've got 40k which brand of 12v 100ah battery should I go for? GBM, Croc, Emirate? |
Shekstatari:Honestly boss, I've been running up and down. E no easy. |
URGENT!!! Hello, for those in BSU. My post UTME is in two days time and I haven't had time to study as I've been engaged with other commitments. What's making me delusional now is the fact that I don't know if MATHS will be part of the post utme subjects. For my main subjects I'll just brush through and I'll be fine. But maths? I haven't had anything serious to do with it in the past 2 years. BSU guys, will I be writing maths? |
Alejoc:Does the MPS come with a solar panel? If yes, how many watts? |
Trippledots:Do you need his phone number? |
ceejay80s:30 amps |
Trippledots:Abuja. Got the seller's contact online. After much pricing I bought it for 7k |
ceejay80s:Thank you! I bought the green one like you opined. I think I'm gonna enjoy it |
Bosses, I need your expert advice on which of these two charge controllers I should go for. Pics attached
|
Nosaghae:I'm glad it has been fixed. |
I need a 100watts solar panel in Abuja this morning. If you sell solar panels and you're in Abuja, kindly quote this post with your phone number and the price. It's urgent. |
Nosaghae:Relay cost anything from #150 to #500. And yes an electrician that repairs TV and knows his onion can fix it for you. Better still, go to electricians that repair stabilisers and fans. They know more about relays. I'm sure you won't spend more than #1k if you sabi price☺ |
Nosaghae:You've blown the relay. Take it to an electrician to change it for you. |
temizeee:wow. It doesn't have to be 10hours back up. If I can use it for 4 hours during the day when the setup is charging and I can still get 6 hours of backup at night then it's totally fine. |
zekepio:CSNg ceejay80s Thanks for lending your voice to my inquiry. I didn't reply before now because the nairaland bot unjustly restricted my account from liking or commenting on this thread. Thank God it's over! Truly, MTN lumos is a penny wise pound foolish initiative. I'm no longer considering it. My load is basically a laptop, two power saving bulbs and 5 phones (factoring my neighbours). So we're looking at a 80-100 watt load. I will need the laptop to run for at least 10hours daily. My budget is still 30k. Here,s the analysis of what I think I'll be needing. 1. Solar panel (50-80 watt) 2. Battery (30-50ah) 3. UPS or inverter 4. Charge controller. What way can I get these components with my budget? If you are based or supply to Abuja, I'll gladly do business with you. And most importantly, if you have any of these components that you're no longer using, I'll be jolly glad to have you gift them to me Thanks. |
And you're just asking now??
