Streetinvestor2: Any ceo can say anything. It is the possibility in the workings that shows on the financial. At what revenue/PAT do u see what he said as being possible looking at latest result/yr .You should do the maths/ logic yourself. When do u see possibility of 2 billion revenue bases on lastest results and what PAT is possible. Then u try to narrow the possible eps with the OS as that is whr the dividend will come from. Or from retained earnings. Many ceos have been saying alot that never happened concerning thr companies . Street you wan kee pesin wit laff. But Kpakites will have the last laugh. No be palm oil biz? GeneralDae: If you don’t have even NIN or BVN as means of identification, why would you want to do banking? Through the NIN and BVN we formalise the economy more just like India has been doing within the last decade. I am trying to understand how BVN and/or NIN will cover for TIN which is issued by FIRS to identify you as a tax payer. |

mikeapollo: So you want all foreign investors to have tax ID's before they invest in Nigeria stocks market? Let's stop thinking that the NGX is only for Nigerians! It is this myopic view of successive govts that messes things up in this country. This issue is not personal because millions of people would be affected. If the NGX crashes due to poorly thought-out policies, you and I would feel it. I am not cheering them. They:re doing "global best" policies, in other words copy-cat policies, without global best governance and accountability. I agree they could end up chasing off participation and liquidity, thereby crashing the market with these extreme policies. But if they insist on it, they may be levies and charges on foreign investors before they can repatriate home their loot, to make up for the tax requirement. You can't stop a government when desperate to force through any policy. |

mikeapollo: These things would most likely push more activity into the informal sector. Many more people would avoid using banks and could channel their funds through other means. How does it make sense that a 70 year old grandma/papa who is not working nor receiving salaries must have tax ID to open a bank account? What is the need for tax ID when already there is NIN and BVN? The clueless, arrogant govt. will surely leave because there is always a tenure limit, whether 4 years or 8 years. Another thing is that the CHN and the CSCS No. will now be joined by TIN to qualify you or Street to transact any thing on the NGX. Only if you have seen fish escape the fishing net once caught can you or Street hope to evade the Jagabanomic tax net now being spread. |

mikeapollo: So our old grandmas and grandpas in the villages and hamlets must obtain tax ID by force before they can operate bank accounts to receive little allowances (from their children) to buy food and medicine.! Thank God there is tenure limit so a clueless, arrogant govt. can be thrown out. Hmmn ! Don't be too sure that a new Govt will be quick to spit out the sugar it finds in it's mouth. Taxation puts money in the hand of the Govt. A new Govt will not be in a hurry to dismantle a revenue scheme it met on ground, even if it would not have introduced the scheme itself. In the words of our fathers, if abomination survives for a year, it becomes tradition. Besides, will throwing out the "clueless, arrogant" Govt even be doable ? |

The American Left will come out against guns as if guns operate themselves.
Somebody will talk of the "pandemic of guns" ignoring that knife killed the Ukrainean refugee.
Then when caught, the story will appear that Charlie Kirk's killer had a history of mental illness, as if psychotic violence is ideologically selective of its targets.
Simply put, a liably left leaning assassin, has backed his deranged hatred of Christian Conservative America with action. |

Mpeace talking about OS, how much difference does the OS of Cadbury and UNILEVER makes? Why is Unilever with higher OS trading above Cadbury price?
CADBURY: 2.3bn OS..... Currently @N58 PZ: 3.97bn OS......... currently @31/32 UNILEVER: 5.75bn OS ........ @N70
Moreover, Cadbury also had serious debt issue before it was later sorted out.
PZ will also trade around those two's price.... When? I don't know. If they go down, they all go down together, if they go up, they all do same. Making It Big.
Femi is actually a good story teller. I posted here sometime ago his narration of how Tony drbbled him out of Transcorp. And in this book, from what I've read, he's talking of how he lost 200b and lived to tell the story. He's actually a serial business survivor, and this will make an interesting read
This one is no MH He's not dumping the book on people. It's his creative property and income stream forever. I knew that Femi's book would go places. KarlTom: I think we need to step down our campaign for ELLAH.
When it was nose diving, the group was suddenly silent. Now that it is ascending, we are trying to blow our trumpets.
Whereas, deep down, we all cannot boldly say that we know the direction ELLAH is facing.
Can 'both sides' just give it a breather for once... There is no fight going on, and nobody is being mocked, attacked or anything except if he is completely bereft of even a little sense of play. For instance, nobody can see a line like, "Ellah has no breast", and view it as anything other than catching cruise. Can a business have breast in a literal sense? Relax, I've wrapped up my Ellah musings on this holiday. And all the monikers mentioned in my posts are my friends. By the way, in the course of researching this comment, I was delighted to find that Google 'AI Overview' has captured the Nigerian/Nsempa slang, "catching cruise". Enjoy. |

megawealth01: I want to use UNITY BANK/PROVIDUS for my retirement
It's the only bank of the NORTH. You can see what the WEST did with WEMA I hope not PETERiCHY's type of retirement, which turned into a new beginning Or Warren Buffet's. At 95, Warren is putting off retirement for another 6 months. Which shows reluctance to quit the game, and hand over the helm. Don't even talk of our neighbor, President Paul Biya of Cameroun. At 92, Oga Paul is running for a new term of office that will end at his 99th birthday. And in case you're suspecting that after that, he might go for yet another term, with "many supporters" cheering, don't be shocked if it turns out you were right. Job can cease to be work, and become game, and an addictive game at that. Don't trust yourself to honour the bolded when the time you've set comes. |
