manie:Many of these companies are ripping off investors mercilessly. Manie, you should be in shareholder activism, leading one faction, sorry group. We need somebody like you to confront them with these queries at AGMs. |
megainvest:I think mr market mistook 'profit warning' for 'loss notice', if there is anything like that, and, after seeing fcmb result, is rectifying the overreaction on fbnh. One should watch out for the other profit warners too. |
fxuser:access (under 4) champion unilever expecting their Q1 results to be strong, and trigger a rally, but it could turn out otherwise. I'm a newspaper-trained speculator |
ufotty2001:And plz did Diamond too issue a profit warning? I lost track of the warnings when the practice turned cultural. |
betcindy:Brother, I didn't call you newbie in stock investment. I said newbie in 'monkey trading', that is, trying to push your UCAP jijo. You see us as entertainers here, but your wrong-headed post on UCAP does not suggest you're doing any better. Let's take some things in the lighter mood. |
Elai147:What simple smart tools some biTLs have been using to dribble us silly in this jijo game. Thanks brother, I have bookmarked this sharply. |
betcindy: duni04:Laff wan kee me ! Duni04, that man fit be newbie for monkey trading now. ![]() |
holm:The chaff are separating themselves from the wheat. |
Agbalowomeri:What I think will move the stock and the entire sector, more than any dividend, is if the result generally, especially the PAT, turns out not as bad as feared right now. |

Some people are loading moribund stdinsure. Is Lazarus coming back to life? |
http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/03/22/its-insane-if-nigerias-currency-policy-remains-says-unilever/ This devaluation debate is getting v bitter. |
debeey87:Mega is a Seplat source himself. |
Dragonking:Some of those investors, fleeing from Al-Qaida/Al-Shabab/IS Gboko Haram in Nigeria, end up exposed to Cote d'Ivoirean Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb. The trrorists opened fire at several Ivoirean sea-side hotels on Sunday, killing 18 and wounding 33, (I assume mostly foreigners). Tragic, but goes to show, Nigeria's insecurity concern, among the oft cited problems, does not make Cote d'Ivoire exactly a safe haven. Wishing them goodluck! |
http://nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/12693_TIGER_BRANDED_-_APPOINTMENT_OF_ED_CORPORATE_ACTIONS_MARCH_2016.pdf Dangote's SA beomes deputy CEO of Tiger. Aliko is keeping this baby close to his chest. |
zendi:Yesterday....... wishing I had bought mooore!!! |
Tiger is insanely popular. I spent the day at their stall, bought some @2.79 when I saw how the offers were being snapped up. No evidence of manipulation to me. No marketing! |
jarkbauer:Jarkbauer, just saying "I have died" once won't make her drop dead right away, God forbid. But, even if one does not wish to practice positive confession, there must be some spirit that taught ancient humanity the wisdom to say "GOODmorning", even when things don't seem to be going well, instead of "BADmorning" sometimes. All is well. |
PETERiCHY:Well, even costain once in 2008 sold at around N80. What of Nahco ? A friend told me that his Nahco was rising and rising until 'afraid catch him'........how can money making be so easy? So he started begging his broker to sell, that he had had enough, please. But the broker laughed and told him that the thing, by then around N50, had not even gone anywhere. In those heady days, stockbroking marketers were going to Onitsha market to tell traders to stop wasting time and bring the money to the stock market for quick multiplication. But in my post you quoted, I'm talking about traders operating under today's market conditions. Thank God we have better monitoring tools today to watch over our trades the way you nurse a baby. So you dont buy and go to sleep. I know a fellow who is still sitting on 1 million units of Japaul he bought at around N10 in those heydays. If you are into buy and hold investing please make sure its a dividend paying stock so that if upsides dont come, dividend will be coming. |
megainvest:I think the reason we are all clicking 'like' to this post (I clicked one), is because it resonates with our own panicky experiences. "Fear not" or "Be greedy when others are fearful" is easier said than done. |
EduC:Some people bot tiger at 0.88 about 2 months ago and now sold at 3. I'm not one of them o. I jijoed mine away prematurely. But what we'er saying is, market don die, market don die, yet history keeps returning with mega loot opportunities such as we also saw in seplat and oando. |
zendi:Any bank result you dont see by the end or even middle of next week, I advise you run for your dear life as nobody hoards good news. |
Justcul:I think all bank results without terminal sickness should be coming out this week and, at the latest, next week now that the sector leaders have set the ball rolling. |
bolabiyi:Problem with the orijin cure is that when it clears from your eyes, and you happen to glance again at the pricelist, your stress comes back, multiplied. So you pour in another bottle? (play o) |
manie:Import substitution is his game. How does he finance it all? He's in mining too, with some Chinese partners. I think all the banks in Nig and abroad are begging hiim to come and take money. |
mercylicious:Cancelled, IJN. |
PETERiCHY:Those your foreign investor friends... Chaperoned by a diehard pessimist about the Nigerian economic climate like you; I can't stop laughing because it's simply hilarious. Something like asking a pussycat to vouch for the integrity of a mouse. That investment mission was simply dead on arrival. Anybody who wants to know if Nigeria is worth investing in should go and ask Aliko Dangote. |
EDUECO:My JIJO philosophy too. But in my case, I miss sometimes, to be honest. ![]() |
chukyjones:why is oando not responding? debt!!! |
fxuser:Are you a broker? ( play!! ) |
Born2berich:my brother, you know say whiskey brands too many......only familiar with Johnny Walker Red and Black labels. I no dey drink them, even, I drink alcohol rarely, but the other day I tasted Orijin and the thing dey pleasant for mouth. Even that one wey you give me dat day still dey mama Ebere fridge. I go go take am wash down one fish head pepper soup the day wey I go sell my eterna, when e manage cross N2. |
bolabiyi:abeg which one be baileys......a slang for orijin? |
