At today's closing price of 0.68, the entire Unity Bank is available at only N8b, far below the N10b Aliko gave to victims of flood disaster sometime ago. Also with just N15b today, you can pocket the whole of Skye(+Mainstreet) Bank and walk away. And these assets are all set to become even cheaper tomorrow. What is happening? Opportunity to keep buying or time to run? For a chronic trader like me, the challenge is identifying the bottom of this rout in order to strike hard. With Diamond @1.90, transcorp @1.04, oando @4.19, elephant @3.61, serious wealth is changing hands. |

ufotty2001: to me, I will go for fcmb after looking at the trend, fcmb has just hit the lowest point since January, 1, 2014 till date @ N1.69.. but still consider other factors too like the issue of dollars restrictions, oil price, excharge rate and economic decline.. do ur home work Brother, what a longish list of factors to consider b4 you buy fcmb @1.69. Which brought these thoughts to my mind : The grasscutter not venturing out of its hole seeing every tree and grass as traps (bigass). He that observes the clouds/skies shall never plant (somewhere in the Bible). Might then as well fold your money, stuff it under your pillow and enjoy your paralysis of over analysis. |

PETERiCHY: http://www.punchng.com/fg-officially-stops-petrol-subsidy/
The Federal Government has officially ended the subsidy on premium motor spirit, popularly known as petrol.
The latest Petroleum Products Pricing template, issued by the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency does not contain the usual subsidy component. Is this good or bad to the relevant stocks, quoted petrol importers/marketers (conoil, MRS, oando, eterna, FO)? what is the expected impact? |

myjoy085: Currently, Nigeria economy is in a very serious problem because of uncertainty surrounding world oil price.
Transcorp is deeply involved in this oil conundrum ,remember they have an oil rig which is yet to be developed. They have debt with some bank and depends on foreign exchange to finance some of their imports which is used for raw materials for their finished products ie fruit concentrate, tourism industries will perform very poor in 2016 because of customers weak purchasing power hence the revenue in their hotel industry will drop drastically. Nevertheless, follow the best strategy that works for you.
My target for transcorp in 2016 is less than 1 naira. It sounds funny but that is the bitter truth.
It is well..... On the flip side, and curiously glossed over in this analysis, Transcorp controls 20% of the nation's electricity, a business that cannot be obsolete in the foreseeable future, selling utilities that people must buy no matter the state of the economy. Transcorp is however vulnerable to the overly influence of cowboyism from the camps of africapitalism. |

Manonamission: Forensic observation? Lol. I am willing to bet my Daar communications holding on this.........your conclusion is wrong. Double check....... If a pessimist were to pick up a fight against anyone, who would he/she pick? Why, an optimist of course. Like hacking the myjoy brand. I could be wrong, but there are clues and tell-tale signs. locodemy is the only moniker I have seen typing tiger head (battery) when referring to tigerbrands. Secondly, locodemy had informed us of his heavy position in oando. Then consider myjoy085's caveatless recommendation below. All coincidences? myjoy085: I encourage everybody to invest massively in oando, tiger head brand, honey flour, unity bank and Wema bank. What I know is that money must be made this year. It is well.. BTW, if junk Daar, whose oga is even in prison, is the backing you can come up with for your own conclusion, then are you sure your conclusion is not hopelessly off the mark? (modified) |

angelo82: Why are you so fascinated to loss making companies?............There are several profit making cheap companies out there............Some billionaires are monkey hunters too.............. Come to think of it, the mighty oando is a loss making company, and the chief of them. But 2 million units of it were sold today. How many units of of nem, cileasing, courteville, all profit making and cheap companies were sold? Likewise, even as they were dumping it, 2 million units of the tigerbrands were taken up by new buyers, and I was surprised it fell only 5%. I'm following it closely to re-enter at a lower roundabout . A loss making company can generate more market activity than a profit making one depending on the sentiment around the stock. But the golden key remains right entry and right exiting with good luck. |

locodemy: what of if they decide to reconstruct the shares later.............ahh! speed on my legs o......... You're more at risk of reconstruction in that your oando that is about to suffer the father of equity dilution in the process of raising 80b for debt reduction. Dangflour has only 5b OS, and 5B it will remain because Dangote doesnt do rights issue or any of such schemes by which small investors are wiped out. He funds the expansions without creating new shares. |

angelo82: Why are you so fascinated to loss making companies?............There are several profit making cheap companies out there............Some billionaires are monkey hunters too.............. Ah...when it comes to speculation, profit, or immediate profit is not everything o. When people made bastard money in ikejahotel, champion or even right now in unitybnk from which no dividend is expected, there were profit making and dividend paying coys like nem around. This biz is a forward looking affair. I wasnt so fascinated until Dangote came back on board. Or you think he's now JIJOing with dangflour? Well, he may have dumped it the first time. But I believe he came back, not to bury it but to wake it. Could be for reasons of pride, that his name is involved, or maybe out of sheer concern for the workers, who had been with him for long. The stock will go south, following this result, but when it bottoms you will see that many people have eye on it. |

Moreover, is anybody by any chance aware, that the wise old saint, Santa Claus, appears to have quietly slipped into the market with a handful of his bulls? Sorry though for bnsiTl caught in Tigerbrands. No matter how foretold and expected, mr short-term-market is always thin skinned, unforgiving and punishing to bad news. I sold yesterday when I saw tiger suffering too much, and felt it needed some refuelling (some news, press release etc on turnaround plans, from the offices of DIL), a move that has today turned out premonitive. Tigerbrands(dangflour) remains a hot one when it bottoms out. Aliko Dangote is its fundamental. |
