You've no idea what you're talking about. Already as we speak, firms around the globe are laying their stake on Eko Atlantic, and you're here saying no new jobs will be created? I really don't know where to start with you.

Nigeria is a developing nation. We can and do produce electricity, roads, water and universities, so do not misrepresent us. Not to everyone's complete satisfaction as of yet, but still no reason not to improve and expand our economy. You do realise this project is private sector driven?

No one is talking about ''vacationing in Nigeria''. Ever heard the words ''business'' and ''commerce''?

And if Eko Atlantic becomes what is envisaged, it WILL draw tourists and visitors.

Tinapa has NOT gone under. It is in fact starting to shape up there, with more retail outlets setting up shop by the week. Abuja was a huge project that's turned out pretty succesfully, so yes, huge projects can and will succeed in Nigeria. In Lagos, a city wide rail network is under construction as we speak. That too will be a success.

Tell that to the Indians.

Do those basic essentials include jobs? If so, where will the JOBS come from without these sort of private sector initiatives? You want everyone to work as a barber, tailor, or truckpusher from their backyard?

Ok fine. You provide 24 hour electricity and fantastic roads everywhere, ignoring economic development. Then what? How does that allow Mr A who just graduated with no job to find a job? Since you failed to provide for economic expansion, where will the jobs come from?

You will simply end up like North Korea, a place with great roads but starving people led by a lunatic despot with no interest in economic development.

Do you realise that the mere construction of Eko Atlantic will provide employment opportunities to untold thousands of Nigerians for countless years into the future?
your points here are very analytical and useful, but i doubt will it ever materialize considering the naija factor.

Olajumoke Oduba may not be a regular face on the screen, but the Lagos State University computer science graduate has been around and as they'd say, has paid her dues in the movie industry. Highly principled and a no nonsense woman, the Ogun state-born actresses who would rather stay off the screen than give in to the demands of some lecherous movie directors, say she has no place in her heart for suitors who are ugly and are not financially buoyant. Enjoy.

As a beautiful lady, how do you handle advances from men?

Men are really something else sometimes but I'm used to them. I know all of their tricks so they can't make me fall for them. Men have fickle minds and they don't scare me. I can handle them.

You say they're small?

Yes.

Even with all the gifts they'll throw around to get you?

The truth is that I won't accept any gift from a man I'm not interested in except where I want to deceive the person.
Someday, you'll want to settle down, so what manner of man will you go for?

He must be a God-fearing and handsome man because I love fine, clean guys. At least he should be financially, academically, socially and morally stable.

EventsDog Inherited Woman's Will by zenithprof(op): 8:57pm On Jun 18, 2010
Her name is Conchita, a thin, spa-loving, diamond-draped heiress, and she's at the center of one of America's nastiest estate battles.

She is also a dog -- a chihuahua who was the favorite of the late Miami heiress Gail Posner, a daughter of the corporate takeover artist Victor Posner.

When Ms. Posner died in March at age 67, Conchita and two other dogs inherited the right to live in her seven-bedroom, $8.3 million Miami Beach mansion, their comfort ensured by a $3 million trust fund.

The canines weren't the only ones who benefited from Ms. Posner's munificence. Seven of her bodyguards, housekeepers and other personal aides were left a total of $26 million under her will, and some also were allowed to live, rent-free, in the mansion to care for the dogs.

Now, in an attempt to revoke the will, Ms. Posner's only living child, Bret Carr, has filed a lawsuit against a bevy of his mother's former staff members and advisers alleging a dark intrigue.

Household aides, he claims, drugged his sick mother with pain medications and conspired to steal her assets by inducing her to change her will and trust arrangements in 2008. Others, including his mother's trust attorney, he alleges, used their influence to bend her wishes. Mr. Carr, who was bequeathed a relatively paltry $1 million in his mother's will, makes the claims in a lawsuit filed last week in probate court in Miami-Dade County.

Among Mr. Carr's claims is that the aides directed a "deeply disturbed" Ms. Posner to hire a publicist to promote Conchita as "one of the world's most spoiled dogs" -- complete with a four-season wardrobe, full-time staff and diamond jewelry. Mr. Carr's lawyer, Bruce Katzen, says he believes the publicity campaign was part of a "ruse" to explain why a large trust fund was needed to care for the dogs.

It's too early to predict the outcome of the case. But Ray Madoff, a Boston College law professor and co-author of an estate-planning guide, says wills that leave little or nothing to legitimate heirs but millions to caretakers are usually thrown out by courts, as likely to have been written with "undue influence" by the caretakers.

The case has echoes of the late Leona Helmsley. In 2007, the New York real estate magnate left a $12 million trust fund to Trouble, her pet Maltese. A judge later cut that down to $2 million and directed the rest go to charity. Under the terms of Ms. Posner's trust, the mansion is to be sold after her dogs die, and the proceeds donated to charity.

But the Posner dispute has a grimmer backdrop. The clan has long been haunted by drug and alcohol addiction, claims of sexual abuse allegedly committed by Victor Posner and prior legal battles over the spoils of Mr. Posner's 1980s-era checkered career.

A master of the hostile takeover who became one of America's highest-paid executives, Mr. Posner pleaded no contest to tax evasion charges in 1987 and was later barred from involvement with public companies.

Mr. Carr, a Hollywood screenwriter and filmmaker, has his own troubled past. He was arrested in 1992, charged with counterfeiting traveler's checks. He received probation, and told The Wall Street Journal in 1994 that his grandfather severed all contact with him after the incident.

Mr. Carr also names as a defendant BNY Mellon, which helped oversee a trust that Mr. Posner established for his daughter in 1965. According to the complaint, the trust at one point was worth more than $100 million. It was terminated in 2008 and its remaining assets distributed to Ms. Posner.

A BNY Mellon spokeswoman said the bank "acted appropriately" as trustee, and plans to "vigorously defend" against the lawsuit. Martin Rosen, an attorney who was a trustee for the trust until shortly after Victor Posner's death in 2002, said that it held "in the area of $6 million" when he left his post and "never had $100 million or anything like it."

Mr. Carr's relationship with his mother is portrayed in the lawsuit as rocky, but he says they had a close relationship during "the sober phases of her life." He also says she variously told him that he would inherit her entire estate; half of her inheritance from Victor Posner; and a house next door to hers, also owned by the family.

According to the complaint, Ms. Posner had a "long history of paranoia" and was concerned about her security. She eventually hired several bodyguards. The lawsuit contends that these people, along with other domestic staff, allegedly conspired to isolate Ms. Posner from family members, proceeding to "brainwash" her into believing her son was out to kill her and only the staff could be trusted.

Ms. Posner allegedly told her son she was "being kidnapped by the staff who was trying to kill her."

Around this same period, Ms. Posner began publicizing her pampered pooch. In an interview with the Miami Herald in 2007, she said the dog's most precious possession was a Cartier necklace worth $15,000, but the dog choked on it and was refusing to wear it.

"Conchita is the only girl I know who doesn't consider diamonds her best friend," Ms. Posner was quoted as saying.

In a 2009 interview with a blogger for browardpalmbeach.com, Ms. Posner said Conchita typically accompanied her on lunch dates and then shopping. Ms. Posner said she at one point considered getting the dog her own Range Rover, for transportation to the animal's weekly spa appointments for manicures and pedicures, but Ms. Posner decided to get herself a new car and gave the dog her gold Cadillac Escalade, she told the blogger.

In 2008, already sick with cancer, Ms. Posner executed a new will and trust agreement, overseen by a New York lawyer, Sanford Schlesinger, who is named a defendant in the suit. Under the new arrangement, according to the lawsuit, Ms. Posner left $10 million to one bodyguard, $5 million to another and $2 million to a personal trainer.

A housekeeper and personal assistant, Queen Elizabeth Beckford, would receive $5 million if she agreed to care for Conchita and two other dogs, April Maria and Lucia, at the mansion "with the same degree of care" they received while Ms. Posner was alive, according to the trust established to distribute Ms. Posner's assets. Ms. Beckford also was given permission to live, rent-free, in Ms. Posner's Miami Beach mansion, along with her mother. Ms. Beckford's daughter, another assistant, received $1 million.

Reached at the Miami Beach mansion, Ms. Beckford declined to comment, saying "everything is confidential" before hanging up. Hernando Quintero, the bodyguard who inherited $10 million, could not be reached for comment. Orion Sewell, who was bequeathed $5 million, declined to comment.

An attorney representing Mr. Schlesinger and Gail Posner's trust declined to comment.

Ms. Posner left the remainder of her estate to charity, with one-quarter directed to animal shelters and the rest to breast cancer and suicide-prevention causes. She also left another request: that the canine-care staff also look after her pet turtles.

my friend not all bios does that it depend on the manufacturer, there are some that detect automatically and there are some u have to manually press a particular key on the keyboard like f3 or something but like i noted initially it all depend on the bios maker what they have programmed.

@oxone the suggestion u have made is quite good but bear it in mind that if the bIOS did not detect both the hard drive and Dvd writer, there is no way the system can communicate with it.the best is to make sure that the bios detect it .try use some software to remove the passworded bios

Christianity EtcAbomination Thugs Invade Church by zenithprof(op): 2:59pm On Jan 22, 2010
Saint Paul Anglican Church, Sodubi-Onikolobo, Abeokuta, Ogun State, is one of the orthodox churches in the town where Christianity started centuries. It is a famous church, being located not too far from the official seat of the Anglican Church in the city.
But the unexpected happened penultimate Sunday when Satan literarily entered and took over affairs in the hallowed portals.

This was what happened when persons believed to be thugs entered the church with guns, disrupting the service and forcing the venerable priest and members of the congregation to scamper for safety.
The gunmen invaded the church over allegation that the priest, Olumuyiwa Adekoya, was too blunt in his preaching on the pulpit. He was allegedly prevented from entering the church for the day’s service.

Not believing what was happening, Adekoya’s attempt at entering the church where he was deployed few months back met stiff opposition by the thugs numbering about six. They reportedly ordered those who loved their lives to leave the church premises.
Irked by the unfortunate incident, the church minister and some other topshots of the church relocated to the Vicarage.
The Senator reportedly told the congregation that The Venerable was accused of “raining too much curses in the church.”
A source told Daily Sun; “What has happened in the church is not new. For your information, it was the fourth in recent times. This is not good for the image of our church’’.

“What has been happening in this church is nothing but politics. This is the fourth Venerable that our so- called elders would disagree with. It is born out of greed. Even if a Reverend preaches and it affects you, what a reasonable person should do is to make amends’’.
Adekoya would not comment on the incident saying that the matter had been reported to the Bishop, who would take appropriate action.
Last Sunday when one had thought that peace would have returned to the place of worship, angry youths numbering about 100 sealed off the church at Sodubi, Onikolobo, area of the state capital. The day’s service was conducted under security watch.

Policemen from the state command led by the Divisional Police Officer, Adigbe, Abeokuta, Mr. Emmanuel Onwubuyah, mounted surveillanc as few elders managed to enter the auditorium.
The elders, were said to have secured the help of the policemen to break the keys allegedly used by the youths of the church to seal off the premises.
The DPO, Onwubuyah, had a hectic time begging the warring parties to give peace a chance as he struggled to supervise the opening of the entrance.
He said he ordered the padlock to be broken because it was illegal for any party to take the laws into its hands. “It amounts to resorting to self help”, he said.

It was drama galore as 20 of the youths gathered under a house opposite the church to hold a prayer session, calling on God to scatter their perceived enemies who were bent on destroying the church, as the elders trickled into the church.
A female youth member who spoke on condition of anonymity said: “This same set of elders has ensured that about three vicars of the church did not enjoy their stay here. Why the same set of people? They want to hold a service. Where is the choir, the ushers, where are the members? What we believe is that God will fight for himself.”

Justice Shekoni, who spoke in favour of the elders said he was one of those who trained the late afro beat musician, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti; “When I was at their own level as a youth, none of these tricks would do then. If we start our own, none of them will be able to stand us. Revd, Ransome Kuti, trained us. I trained Fela. So, who are these people to say they are youths and be locking up the church,” he told inquisitive journalists as he led other elders into the church at about 12.16p.m to start the day’s service.

can u see what our churches are turning into this days that really shows that people no longer fear their creator when their hope is bent on this earth, politics in church

Seun pls post this in the first page

PropertiesEfcc Seals Off 104 Cecilia Ibru Properties, confiscates Shares In 77 Firms by zenithprof(op): 8:27pm On Jan 18, 2010
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the weekend, said it had sealed off 104 properties and confiscated shares in 77 companies belonging to the sacked Managing Director of Oceanic Bank Plc, Mrs. Cecilia Ibru.

The anti-graft agency, however, warned that it is an offence punishable under Section 32 of the EFCC Act 2004 with imprisonment for a term of five years without an option of fine to deal with, sell or otherwise dispose of any property or asset which is the subject of this attachment without its authorization.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had August last year sacked the chief executive officers of Intercontinental Bank (Erastus Akingbola), Union Bank (Bartholomew Ebong), Afribank (Sebastian Adigwe), Oceanic Bank (Ibru) and FinBank (Okey Nwosu) and their managements. Ibru was arrested, detained and charged to court by the anti-graft agency, but was later released on bail.
The EFCC got a court order empowering it to confiscate properties belonging to all the sacked CEOs in order to recover the money allegedly stolen by them while in the office.

The anti-graft body had recovered several properties of the sacked Intercontinental former boss, Akingbola in Nigeria and abroad.
Ibru, according to the Commission, owns several personal properties in and outside the country, including United States of America, London, Dubai, South Africa. She also owns several properties in Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lekki, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland and Abuja, it said.

In a notice of attachment of assets/properties signed by the EFCC Chairman, Mrs. Farida Waziri, the agency said the exercise was sequel to the power conferred on it by Section 28 of the EFCC Establishment Act 2004.
Among the assets confiscated by the agency include Real Property, Ikeja; Good Shepherd House, IPM Avenue, Opposite Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos (registered in the name of Ogekpo Estate Managers); Residential block with 19 apartments on 34, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi (registered in the name of Dilivent International Limited); 20 Oyinkan Abayomi Street, Victoria Island (remainder of lease or tenancy up to 2017).

Others are 15,000 square metres of land at Okunade Water Front, Lekki Peninsula; 7,000 square metres of land at Okunade Water Front, Lekki Peninsula - (registered in the name of Melake Properties Limited).
Also, Metro Plaza Building, 991/992 Zakari Maimalari Street, Central Area, Zone 5, Abuja, (registered in the name of Abinof Food Company Limited); 4 Floor Building at Herbert Macaulay Way, Wuse Zone 6, Abuja (registered in the name of Casi Properties and Investment Ltd).

Properties confiscated in Dubai include International City, Building Y18, Shop 18, International City, Building Y5, Shop 1, International City, Building Y5, Shop 2, International City and Building Y5, Shop 3. Others in South Africa are Accustrat (Pty) Limited; Meha Real Estate, Scharde Designs PTY Limited; and Vakson Freehold Properties Limited, while in US the agency confiscated properties located in 4155 Chariot Way, Upper Marlboro, Maryland purchased at $452,508.00 (registered in the name of Anita DaSilva Ibru); property at 4145 Chariot Way, Upper Marlboro, Maryland, purchased at $440,105.00 (registered in the name of Anita DaSilva Ibru); property at 4139 Chariot Way, Upper Marlboro, Maryland, purchased at $451,629.00 (registered in the name of Edesiri Onatejerohene Ibru); and property at 4149 Chariot Way, Upper Marlboro, Maryland, purchased at $473,657.00 (registered in the name of Obaro and Hirut Ibru) amongst others.
