BIAFRA IS ACHIEVABLE. BUT NOT BY CONSTANTLY INSULTING ME...

By Samuel Ajayi

Let me make something very clear: I totally condemn the stupid ultimatum given to Igbos in the North. It was ill-advised and ran against any test of commonsense.

Having said this, let me take on my Igbo brothers and sisters for the very first time over the issue of Biafra. I receive messages everyday of people spreading the message of Biafra agitation but inside that same message, THEY WILL BE INSULTING ME! I have chosen to ignore this for months because they make no sense to me. I don't even give them a thought.

Self-determination struggle is a LEGITIMATE struggle anywhere in the world. It is normal for a people who believe they share a common destiny, language and culture and above all, who PERCEIVE injustice within a union to wanting to go their own way. The human history is filled with these struggles.

However, this must not be done by demonising, cursing and insulting others. And this is where many Igbos are missing it in this Biafran struggle. I admit there are equally people of ethnic groups who stupidly insult Igbos for wanting to opt out of the Nigerian federation. That, to me, is arrant nonsense. But my message this morning is for Igbos.

I did a post recently about how we spend fortunes on social functions. Not a few Igbo guys nearly changed that post to ethnic battle claiming it was a Yoruba thing and that Yorubas 'infested' Igbos with that trait and more reason Biafra would liberate such 'infested' Igbos. Can you imagine such reasoning?

In Ado-Ekiti, my state capital, the biggest building material stores are owned by Igbos. From iron rods to roofing sheets, from plumbing materials to electrical fittings, the Igbos' investments in Ekiti are in billions. The owners of these businesses also have properties from which they operate. You can imagine the size of their investments. They are major components the state business survival. However, it is NOT their Igbo brothers and sisters that patronise them. IT IS THE LOCAL PEOPLE OF EKITI THAT DO THAT. THE BUSINESSES GREW VIA PATRONAGE FROM THEIR HOSTS!

It is strange that a man just bought goods worth N300,000 from you and the next thing you open discussion about Biafran struggle and within a minute, you start insulting all Yorubas. It is NOT done. And this is the context of my message this morning.

Biafra can be achieved. But NEVER via this blackmail, insults and abuses on other people.

Let me make one thing clear: I know many Igbos who will get angry insult me over this post. Their level of emotional attachment to the struggle is such that any voice of caution is met with vitriol. They even do it to fellow Igbos. But let me also make one thing clear: I am ready to lose few friends too.

What's your take on this?[/s]

All these biafra and afonja quotes we see on nairaland just shows how bigotry and dogmatism has eaten deep in to our consciousness. We aren't ready for progress in this country, you lot on nairaland are closed minded scum I must confess..are we not all black people striving for a common cause? Please people we have a long way to catch up with other 'humans'. Let's Unite[/s].

You and who want to progress together? Do we look alike? Do we dress the same? Do we eat the same food? Do we worship the same God? Do we value truth in the same manner? My friend get out of my sight.

Politics / Re: Opinion: The Fire Burned And Nnamdi Kanu Disappeared by Zikaviirus: 7:47pm On Jun 11, 2017
ItsTutsi:
[s]Nnamdi Kanu’s agitation for an independent Biafra state has seen an upsurge in thee support for secession but he seems to have gone mute since some northern youths gave a 90 day ultimatum to Igbos in the north to vacate. In this opinion by Buchi Obichie, she describes Kanu as the kind of persons who stirs trouble but if yet to be found when disaster sets in. We all have that one friend or family member who always ‘stirs the pot’. You know, that one who whispers things into people’s ears, but is usually nowhere to be found or just flat-out denies stuff when “ish gets real”. For me, that person was my cousin. When we were younger, a certain cousin of mine always had things to say about someone else. She knew what someone else had said about you, or what someone else had done in secret. In any case, if you got mad that someone else was talking about you, and confronted that someone else and then let it slip that the information was passed to you by so-and-so (my cousin), you would quickly find that my cousin suddenly developed a case of juvenile amnesia. She either would not recollect ever telling you about someone else, or she would flat-out tell you that she didn’t put the information that way. No, she merely made a light-hearted statement, and it was you who ‘embellished’ it! In any case, for all intents and purposes, we were often caught in my cousin’s trap, and quickly found that when the fight came, we were on our own!.My cousin reminds me of a certain Nnamdi Kanu; that radio broadcaster turned activist/ ‘Jewish’ spiritual leader and ‘healer’.Now, I would say firstly, that I do believe the Igbos have genuine reasons to feel marginalized. It’s pretty obvious that Igbo people have been cheated quite a bit in this polity called Nigeria. I believe that the government has a responsibility to listen to the agitation of the Igbos, and then, a duty to rightfully and realistically address these agitations with concrete solutions. There is no reason why an Igbo man should not be president, or occupy a top-tier position in the affairs of the nation. There is no reason why Igbo-land should be so underdeveloped and its citizens treated like third class citizens in their own country, even though their business savvy has done a lot for the economic growth of the country. Since the British arrived, the Igbos have had a genuine reason to be angry, and their concerns must be addressed. But I do not believe that secession is the answer (personally, as a Deltan, I do not identify as Biafran, even though I am of Ibo descent) nor do I believe that Nnamdi Kanu is the messiah Igbos seek. Recently, some errant, cantankerous, mischief-making northern youths gave a very foolish and inflammatory order, evicting the Igbos out of the north. That particular action has set off a chain reaction; effects of which are still being felt at the present moment. Let me say here, that even though two northern youth leaders have admitted that the action was wrong and appealed for calm, I am appalled that none of the culprits have yet been arrested despite Governor El-Rufai’s order. People should not be able to publicly make such statements of anarchy, and allowed to roam about scot-free. They should be put in jail! Now, back to Nnamdi Kanu. For a man who is not at all shy about speaking out ‘in very colorful terms’ against the government in its treatment of Igbos, and inciting his followers to action, I am quite amazed that in this latest episode, he has remained silent- just like my cousin! One of the most telling attributes of a true leader is his/her willingness to walk through the fire with their people. Well, the fire has started burning and so far, Kanu has maintained a safe distance from the blaze. One may argue that he does not want to be seen to be violating the terms of his bail, but you only have to read about the actions he has taken since his release to see that violations have already occurred on quite a few occasions. The foolish northern youths made a terrible decision by their proclamation, but it was based on what they perceived to be erratic and spiteful actions of the Igbos agitating for Biafra; an agitation that in recent times has grown more frequent, louder, often violent, and an agitation principally spear-headed by Kanu. But in the heat of the moment, Kanu seems to have recoiled into some shell. Not even a word of encouragement to affected Igbos has been given by him…at least something to let them know they are not alone. Is he afraid? I didn’t know he succumbs to the emotion of fear! Igbos need to be wise. Nnamdi Kanu, in my opinion, is an ‘accidental phenomenon’ whose burst of fame came as a result of the federal government’s poor choices. A man who never really expected to be locked up- or locked up for so long- has become a ‘god’! What an irony! But he is no leader. ..certainly not one the Igbos need in their struggle. Like I have said before, I do not think secession is the answer; but I do believe whole-heartedly, that Igbos have legitimate grievances. If the Igbo nation would rally together and come up with a realistic course of action, a way to reasonably and seriously tackle things with the government- not the tout-like activities of those who keep on causing mayhem under the cover of all too frequent sit-at-home orders which do not really have any serious effect on the government- then they may begin to see the sun.The Igbos have always had an issue with (credible) leadership. It is to the detriment of these beautiful people that pride never seems to allow them rally behind a strong leader. The typical Igbo man does not have it in him to succumb to another man’s leadership, so everyone wants to be King! But then, a funny thing happens- when they finally pick someone to rally around, they pick a ‘show-man masquerading as a freedom-fighter’! Nnamdi Kanu is no Nelson Mandela…he does not even strike me as being half the man Ojukwu was…and please, he is not a member of the ‘lost tribe of Jews’! He is no messiah…he is simply a creature of accident; a man who much like my mischievous cousin, stirs the pot, but is nowhere to be found when the ingredients spill over and a combustion erupts! https://www.naij.com/1109341-opinion-the-fire-burned-nnamdi-kanu-disappeared-by-buchi-obichie.html[/s]

Afonja....Nnamdi Kanu has be warning Igbos for yrs to leave the North if you have followed RadioBiafra. Will be stupid for him to keep saying the samething to those who don't listen. Afonjas fanning this new because they want Igbos and Northerners to fight themselves again; kill themselves so that they will deceitfully get to the top where Igbos are like they did in 1970. Will never happen again instead Hausa-Fulani and Igbo will agree to deal with you slimy, cunny people.

[s]Found this online and decided to share:
The Ibos want Biafra
The North wants Ibo's exit
The Ibos are saying "we have investments in
your areas and cannot leave them"
And the fight is being cooked.
Amongst all these, the President is in London
Governors are sharing bailout funds
Workers salaries are not paid
Government officials have their children
schooling abroad
Ministers and senators are looting
The poor Hausa man is riding Okada
The poor Ibo man is riding Okada
The poor Yoruba man is riding Okada
The poor Hausa man sleeps under the bridge as
Alamajiri
The poor Yoruba man sleeps under the bridge
as Alaye
The poor Ibo man sleeps under the bridge as
agbero
It is pertinent to note that the poor from all
ethnic groups in Nigeria have everything in
common and so is the rich.
Do not allow the agitation of an Ibo man who
lives in UK or USA for Biafra cause the killing of
the Ibo man in Adamawa. The rich hate us that
much.
Do not allow the Alhaji whose children are living
abroad to persuade you to go and start killing
on the street of Kaduna.
The problem in the country is not the agitation
of any ethnic group but the unity of the elite
and the disunity of the masses.
How many times have you taken your agitation
to question your local government Chairmen?
Why have you not asked your Governors through
agitation how they spent bailout fund?
Why have you not agitated against that
government official whose mansions you go to
beg for help?
Sad to note;
All the Governors love themselves
All the past Presidents love themselves
All the senators love themselves
All the top government officials love themselves
All the looters love themselves
Why can't you and I love ourselves?
Why can we combine efforts and fight them?
Why do we fight ourselves?
Why do we allow them the freedom we don't
have?
Remember; a good Nigeria is better than a good
Arewa, Oduduwa or Biafra.
Happy Sunday[/s].

[s]Well Meaning Igbos are fighting back at Biafra Kanu. Selfish scumbag who left his gullible followers in Kuje prison. Instead of working hard to get remaining dumbos out of Kuje continue his scam.
Rochas has been part of agitation for long. I wouldn't put anything past Rochas. Obiano disappointed me totally for the gift showered to Kanu the Biafra.
"The Merchant Called Nnamdi Kanu And His 2019 Senatorial Ambition - Frank Eze

"My dear brothers and sisters, the agitations for Biafra is a hoax. Nnamdi Kenny Okwu Kanu is another Tompolo, Asari Dokubo, Ateke Tom, Abubakar Shekau, Ganiyu Adams, Femi Fani Kayode and many other political merchants and “smart” Nigerians who have mastered the art of holding government by the jugular.
We hail them as heroes, we see them as liberators. But today they are all billionaires as they fizzle out of the scene to enjoy their wealth or get elected into political positions or secure political appointments. They suddenly become part of the establishment, while the causes they claimed to be fighting inherently remain with us."

Nigeria is indeed a very interesting country. The many imbalances in our economic, political, and religious structures have always evolved “messiahs” of some sort. Unfortunately the youths have been at the mercies of these merchants and their deceptive antics. From the Niger Delta Militancy to Boko Haram Insurgency, men and women who claimed to be fighting for justice have been found to be nothing but merchants taking advantage of our collective heritage.

Nnamdi Kanu is the new boy on the block. He has proved to be a master of the game. With well oiled deception and propaganda machinery he has become the latest “hero” in town. He promised us eldorado in his so called Biafra Republic. He called Nigeria a zoo, and its inhabitant’s baboons. He talked about political marginalization, convincing us on why we must all jettison Nigeria for Biafra.

For once in my adult life, I was tempted to see reasons with Kanu. Why? Because Ralph Uwazuirike was a scam, a self-serving agitator whose god is his belly. I therefore resigned to fate that all Biafran agitators are nothing but merchants desperate to sell their wares to the leadership of the Nigerian state; they want a chunk of the national cake. I couldn’t have been convinced by MASSOB and its affiliates who dominated the South-East for about ten (10) years, until the “ninja man” Kanu appeared on the scene.

He started as being part of a larger MASSOB agitation, broadcasting propaganda materials from the United Kingdom through the infamous Biafra Radio. But gradually but stealthingly, MASSOB was dethroned, Unwazuirike had had his fair share of the national cake; as Kanu sold himself as the new man to lead the charge.

Indeed, Kanu was smart. He added something unique to Unwazuirike’s gruff approach – Judaism, the opium of the Igbo people. Presenting himself as a Judaist, Kanu knew he will consolidate on the fairytale that the Igbos shares the same ancestry with Israel.

So this is how I fell for the Kanu’s sham. So while he was in custody, I joined in the agitation calling for his release. From Aba to Enugu, I fought hard and availed my contributions in the campaign for his release. I was at the Federal High Court, Abuja, many times. Staged series of protests between the Unity Fountain and Federal Secretariat countless times; and led various social media campaigns on why Kanu must be free.

Fortunately, freedom came at last!!! Kanu was granted bail. But that is where my problem began.

Suddenly, Kanu moved from being a freedom fighter to a political power house. Politicians, business moguls, and religious leaders lined up and paid their way to have audience with him. The social media is littered with pictures of those who had the “rare privilege” of securing audience with the IPOB leader. Even Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State paid his way by offering Nnamdi Kanu $50,000 and two Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) as political patronage, which Kanu gladly accepted as gifts.

On his part, Rochas Okorocha, is wooing Kanu to declare his membership of APC. The Imo State Governor has also promised him the party’s senatorial ticket come 2019, and a cash-backing of N50 Million. All these are going on while credulous poor men, women and children who don’t have much to give Kanu but their unalloyed support kneel before the IPOB leader to receive some forms of spiritual blessings. INDEED KANU IS A SMART CROOK.

While these gullible men and women keep the agitation alive in their hearts, Kanu has already positioned himself as the godfather of Igbo politics ahead of 2019. He has suddenly become powerful than all the South-East Governors put together. From Enugu to Owerri, Kanu will surely have a say on who eventually emerges as Governor, Senator, and Member of the House of Representatives; himself already sure of a Senatorial seat at the National Assembly. Wao! Nigeria My Country!

Just few years ago, the name Nnamdi Kanu did not ring a bell in the entire Igbo land. He was just another hustler in the United Kingdom trying to make ends meet. But today, Kanu is at the very top, dinning and winning with the great and mighty, while his naive foot soldiers hope in vain for that day when Biafra shall be free.

My dear brothers and sisters, the agitations for Biafra is a hoax. They suddenly become part of the establishment, while the causes they claimed to be fighting inherently remain with us.

I have come to this conclusion that if only the enterprising young men and women of Igboland will join hands, hearts and minds to advance their causes in a more strategic way, engaging the political system in the same way they have risen to conquer its economy, I believe we shall fare better in Nigeria, while refusing the antics, dishonesty, disingenuousness and greed of our secessionist agitators whose “okpoloor eye is open eye”.

Emmahunk:
[s]I see another Somalia in the making ;

The recent secession moves by the IPOB seems to be gathering momentum every passing day. It is more so after the Federal Government most unfortunately made a hero out of a man without known or recorded antecedents in any sphere of life by incarcerating him for close to 2 years.
Now to the crux of the matter. The agitation is based on two purported issues.
1. Marginalization and
2. Actualizing the Biafran/ Ojukwu dream.
While Ikemba Odumegwu Ojukwu of blessed memory had in a video chat with foreign pressmen said, "... it will be insane for anyone to provoke another civil war, I don't think it's necessary.," I personally share his opinion hence I want to dwell on point number one, 'Marginalization '.
Each time I hear the word Marginalization, my first reaction has always been, "who is marginalizing who?".
Today monies that would have been enough for the second Niger bridge are in the personal pockets of an Igbo woman and a one time most powerful minister in Nigeria.
Her children are presently partying with American celebrities in the sky with private jets while some of us here are not sure of the next meal. This is just one case scenario out of so many and don't pretend that you do not know what I am talking about.

Just two days ago, the Pope received a delegation from Nigeria and precisely from Ahiara diocese of the Catholic Church. Their mission? To complain that they do not want one Bishop Okpaleke because he is Igbo from Anambra State and not Igbo from Imo State, preferably Ahiara. God forbid! This is happening in the body of Christ!
For sure our greed and internal bickering alone will choke the baby 'Biafra' even before it learns to crawl assuming, just assuming it survives at birth.

Enugu/Onitsha road has been a death trap over the years, do you know why? Because one of the Igbo untouchables has his fingers deep in the contract porridge.
Again I ask, "who is marginalizing who?"
I was lucky to be at the Royal Palace hotel Enugu, the day late Ikemba handed Uwazulike to the Igbos as our next leader. Whether he has earned our confidence or not, is an issue for another day.
Now, Kanu has suddenly become the Igbo leader. Where, when and how he was crowned still remains a mystery.
His family are as I write this, safely abroad just like the families of many who are fanning his megalomania ego.
With Cross Rivers, Akwa-Ibom, Delta and Kogi States already opting out of the so called IPOB, are you not seeing a land - locked Country of Biafra?

With tomatoes, carrot, yam, rice, maize, watermelon etc all coming from the North, do you not see an import duty being paid on all of these?
I am not a writer and I ask for your forgiveness for my shortcomings but let us open our eyes and reason.
If only those in diaspora especially the jobless ones can come back home with their families to help us prosecute the war, then and only then will I begin to take their support for Nnamdi Kanu seriously.
Until then, I only see a future Somalia.
-Odiraa- Chukwumma[/s] -

This afonja lunatic wrote this poo and claimed it was "Odiraa Chukwumma", The ewedu filled Afonja brain, a product of Awolowo education spelled "Chukwuma" as "Chukwumma"just deceiving his Ewedu black amala skull.

The above in bold in his write up, if you are not smart you won't know he is referring to Diezani Madueke. He is referring to her as an Igbo woman, which I don't mind since she has Igbo blood in her and prefer to marry and associate with Igbos. But this same afonja will call her SS/Niger Delta whenever oil is involved. Make God never forgive this people...strike them in the neck with your thunder.
