Zeynab, whose real name Zeynab Habib Oloukèmi is a Beninese singer R'n'b born September 25, 1975 Abidjan Ivory Coast. She won the trophy in 2005 Kora Awards in the category best female artist of West Africa.

Biography

Zeynab comes from a Muslim family over sixteen children, she is the eighth born father an engineer in electronics and a shopping mother. From an early age, she is rocked by the music. Zeynab participated in school competitions television in Abidjan. Returned to Benin in 1993, she joined the College of General Education Allada (Allada CEG) where she followed the second cycle in series A. It began to become known in Benin notably by hosting a Karaoke Bar at Alex, a famous resort instead.

Early career

Zeynab very early abandoned the course to regain Cotonou, this was the beginning of his musical career in 1995 by integrating the Super Quartz group. Through this group she had the opportunity to work with several artists béninois. She released her 1st album in 2002 entitled "Intori" which in Yoruba language means Because Why or an album composed of 14 titres. Then in 2004, she released her second album entitled "On one place to another," an album that also contains 14 tracks. In 2011, she released her third album entitled "Olukémi", an album featuring 16 tracks including the songs "Ay lé" and "To love" have had some succèss

First, what took Bini to Lagos, what was their business there? Bini itself did not have domain on the coast, it was an hinterland seat of political power. Lagos was under constant invasion by Dahomey and at a point the Idejo chiefs sent to Alaafin for protection against the raids from Dahomey. The Aworis did not have a constituted army or navy force and were not warriors. They did not wage war against other territories and neither was a war waged against them, but their land was blessed with agricultural produce. Since Dahomey was in constant war and battles attacking neighbouring states or defending against them, hardly any time was spent by these people growing food, so they raided for food and produce.

The defense of Lagos was impractical for Oyo because their horses were part of the army force and victory against an enemy depended on their health and well being. The risk of loosing the horses to sickness increases the farther they marched South and to the coast. Oyo turned the Idejo Chiefs to Bini for help.

Binis fought on foot and on waters but not at sea since they were not a sea people. Lagos is on the sea. Bini needed a sea force. This is where Ilaje came in.

I've spent more time looking at this thread. It truly started out as a political thread, but then people decided to change it into a thread for all things Yoruba, thus turning it into something that rationally belongs to the culture section. Since people feel strongly about having this thread in the Politics section, I thing the best thing we can do is to refocus it on the original purpose.

My humble proposal is to rename this thread as "Yoruba Political News Thread", move it back to the politics section, and put it on the home page. What do you think?

Also we will offer amnesty to most of those who broke rule 2 and rule 20 over the moving of this thread, but further violations will not be tolerated. I take responsibility for the politics section situation since I have not said anything to the moderators.

General Seun, have you ever visited Anambra and other SE threads? You need to go there and see what they discuss. It has always been everything Igbo. I have visited the threads, so I know what I am saying. You can visit the threads and see for yourself.

If those threads could stay in Politics Section for years, how come ours that is only 5-week old must be moved to Culture Section?

If you noticed, none of us ever bothered to open a complaint thread in Politics Section to call you out. We believed it's unnecessary.
