Philosopher1979: Former u17 star Ibrahim said playing for Viborg as a left winger. Game is on now. I believe in Akinkunmi smoos 2019 under 17 set. Will be part of our golden generation that will dominate football for decades
Nigeria will never dominate anything in sports talkless of football. There is no golden generation anywhere! The country lack what it takes to dominate in sports
AndSunGorilla: Who be M. Bayo? Who don thief dis Naija boy again?
People bear that name not only in Nigeria but also in Benin, Togo, Guinea, Uganda, and not forgetting burkina faso. A lot of people bear Kanu in Sierra Leone and have no ancestral root in Nigeria.
You are wrong. Dude is Greek of Nigerian descent. Plays for the Greece national team with his two other brothers. He's not a Nigerian Basketball player. He has never been to Nigeria in his life & never had a Nigerian Passport.
Icon4s: Pidgin English was introduced to the West Coast of Africa by the Portuguese. It is widely spoken amongst the English speaking west African countries.
The Liberian Pidgin is even closer to the type of Pidgin spoken in Lagos
That is not true. Liberian Pidgin English is never close to the type of Pidgin English spoken in Lagos except they had lived in Nigeria before. Only people from Sierra Leone & closely Ghana, speaks the Pidgin English close to that spoken in Lagos. Even their intonation or accent is very close. Anyone can google ''Oku People (Sierra Leone)'' for more insight.
But I think the Liberian pidgin sounds very wierd. Unlike the Sierra Leonian guys, they don't use lingos like 'I dey go', 'We go win' etc. Our pidgin is probably closer to the S'Leonians.
It baffles me how someone with Nigerian parents will apply for switch of Nationality to Nigeria and never thought of having Nigerian Passport before 2019 or since 2019. Please is Nigerian Passport so difficult to get between 2019 and now? Because this has always been the excuse. How is it even possible for someone to apply to play for a country in the first place then forgot about the nation's symbol of identity in the application.
12large1: Ighalo and victor moses are still needed in this team. Enough is enough we're tired of our players retiring in their prime or early.
Make them rest bro but i feel you. With ighalo & VicMo atleast our last friendlies against Cameroon would have been different. As Simon was disturbing on the left flanks, VicMo would have done greater damage on the right and Ighalo would have had more presence in the box than those forwards we paraded. You can imagine Moffi, Onuachu, Iheanacho, Iwuala & a certain Marcus playing like no gut nor glory at stake.
Truidstar: I tell u my brother..my fear is that dem don infect Rohr with the Nigerian coach sentiment virus. When Rohr first start he was ruthless..if u no measure up you are out. We dont need a Musa or Shehu.
The people in authority care less about such thought. Musa remain relevant in the current set up be it for football or other role. Even Shehu is, as long as he's playing regular club football. Except Pinnick & Rohr are no more involved in the scheme of things. Musa on his day is a delight to behold.
JohnBullMySon: About seven regular team players were absent. No coach in this world will comfortably win a game with 7 of his first team missing. That's why I don't blame Rohr. Coaching no be magic.
Ekong, Ebuehi, Sanusi, Leon, Aribo, Osimhen, Chukwueze. All no dey.
In our last seven matches how many games has Ebuehi & Sanusi played that made you to mention them as regular member of the first 11
codemaniacs: It's either you're less than 18 years old or you're ignorant or you're playing ignorant.
A person's attitude and personality can change depending on who the person is talking to.
Most whyte people naturally don't like Africans and don't see anything good in Africans, ro:hr, a whyte coach currently coaching Nigeria has repeatedly said Nigeria is not good enough when it's his job to make sure they become good enough.
His personality changes towards Nigeria.
Another thing is Whyte people naturally don't have the " innate drive " to empower Africans and push them to " lofty heights".
codemaniacs: not every whyte coach can be like westerhof..
the problem is you guys expect someone of a different race to express and project optimism, confidence and inspire an African team to glory... its your ignorance or complacency towards race that's the problem, even your pr:esident b:uuhari does not rate highly Nigerians of different ethnicity than himself...
it's normal for a whyte person to do what r:ohr is doing and the current NFF allows it because its also doing the same thing r:ohr is doing...
I disagree with your assertion. My point of view have nothing to do with colour nor race. But that of personality. Whether he's Black or White concerns me not. Rohr as a person does not have that innate drive to push this team to lofty heights. Mark my word!
BascoVanVeli: I think so but I've never seen him as a left back
He's a left footed center back. Playing as left back should not be a big deal. Do you know that Marcus once played as leftback for his club even Ekong occassionally featured as leftback for Watford last season. Necessity is the mother of invention. This is the moment.
BascoVanVeli: How does that help with the left back position?
Onovo is a DM and can also function in CM position. With that, ozornwafor can play left back if the need arises or Simon plays as left Wingback. He can still pair them as Shehu, Ndidi, Awaziem, Ozornwafor if he wants 4 men at the back.
Meliforme: At the words in bold, you are very correct. Iwobi is the best SS in Super Eagles as it stands.
Iwobi's pressing and work rate combined with that of Osimhen will spell menace on any opposition.
We will experience the diamond in Iwobi and reap extensively the beauty in 4-4-2 when we play lwobi behind the striker.
If any SE player will be described as pressing and having high work rate combine definitely it's not Iwobi. Probably by 70mins to 80mins of football dude is tired. Go back & watch our last match, he was moving around with hand brake whilst Sir Paul was moving around with a briefcase.
elyte89: He's only hiding under d umbrella of pessimism,so later he would av an excuse ahead like...sheyb I tell una b4 ,not knowing dt he's d real olodo here
It is obvious that with Gernot Rohr the Super Eagles stands no chance of glorious outing in the nearest future. He has no words of inspiration in him to push most of these guys beyond their limits. He speaks in manners i will consider as tepid and uninspiring most times especially in interviews in the guise of being humble or modest in such a way that one can see surely the passion for glory is not just in him. He's constantly downplaying every performance as if there's nothing to it. We are surely on a long ride with this man of a coach.
oloriooko: so much anger following the loss yesterday but it's a friendly that was used to test some players and techniques by the coach BTW no player was ready to carry any career threatening injury when the next season is around the corner the coach would have seen our weaknesses which include the central defence & attacking MF am particularly impressed with Wilf's competitiveness and the control of his team mates on the whole, the match was to bring the boys together
How come a coach who was using a test game to assess new players was making much substitutions in the latter end of the game. His subs yesterday were as follows:
66 mins - Onuachu Out, Moffi In 67 mins - Iheanacho Out, Musa In
81 mins- Simon Out, Olayinka In 81 mins- Etebo Out, Iwuala In
87 mins- Iwobi Out, Marcus In
90' mins- Troost Out, Ozornwafor In
A coach assessing new recruits deserves to give them more playing time than this.
Danielnino00: In my opinion, this still remain our best line up..
Uzoho
Ebuehi/Aina Ekong Balogun Sanusi
Ndidi Aribo Iwobi
Chukwueze Osimhen Onyekuru/Simon
I disagree with you bro on your team list. With Iwobi on the wings Zaidu will be badly exposed. In our match against Lesotho, Zaidu's position was wide open because Iwobi kept drifting centrally leaving so much gap on the wings thus limiting the runs of Zaidu. A good team should have exploited that. We're better off with him playing in front of the DM & CM.
The Rohr that i know will never dare make substitutions around 50th-60th minutes until he knows the game is almost done with. He loves losing by a slim margin. He would wait till 80 something minutes & probably send Musa in. Those new boys dem dey on a cruise!
Individual brilliance of Osimhen, Chukwueze & Ndidi is what drives this team forward. Once two out of the three or all are not playing, what usually happen is continual struggle. The team relies on counter attack most times.
IDENNAA: The same sanctimonious midfielder of Ndidi-Iwobi people revered here ?
I am not watching the game because I am busy but as far as Rohr is concerned this current Super Eagles will be wasted.
As long as Iwobi kept playing 10 you will never play good football.
Make una enjoy another heartbreak and mental trauma....lol
Even though you have been much ridiculed over your stance on the eagles midfield and especially on Alex iwobi's game, but the thing is, a part of me knew on what you always said that it is a case of ''a prophet who has no honour in his own country''
TheSuperNerd: Honestly, Okoye should be stopping that strike. He reacted much too late. Unlike him judging by his massive showings in the Eredivisie.
Okoye is never an impressive goalkeeper. I stand on this anyday. When it's right time people of his like will be done with. #Fact. His Germany connection is what his helping him.
My simple observation. Onuachu moves around lazily. Really hold little presence on the field. Iwobi to me is no difference. He can't give a decent cross, can't dribble, can't even pick a man to mark. Running around with half hearted approach. No wonder everton hardly consider him nowadays. Dude is washed up.
Iwobi plays an attacking midfielder most times for the national team. Iwuala do play as an attacking midfielder sometimes too. Same goes for Marcus, and Iheanacho as well. Any of these guys can be our creative outlet.
Collins & Aina are our Leftback in that team list.
@Omanambala Azubuike Okechukwu is a player you admire & believe so much in because of his style of play as central/defensive midfielder, personally i have watched him play & i share your view but his career over the years has really gone down and there is little to nothing to be impressed about in him ever since to be candid. Ndidi on the other hand, has improved so much that it is very wrong to mention Azubuike, judging by his current form & class. There is no point for comparism broda.
