velly001:why not tell us whom you prefer and why? |
If the revised electoral law is strictly adhered to, the next General elections will be held in February, 2015. That's in less than 4 months. Already, a flurry of political activities have dominated the nation's political sphere, such as declarations, defections, alignments and realignments, to mention a few. I have always held the belief that we, as citizens, are all stakeholders in the Nigerian project, regardless if our expectations have been met or hopes dashed by our political leaders. To remain passive in the political developments of our dear country is tantamount to accepting whatever fate that befall us. Agreed that we cannot all play politics, but, we can play a part in the political process. We can play a part by exercising our franchises through voting and by enlightening others, thereby assisting them to make an informed choice. Some of us see things from a particular point of view and may change our minds if we are better informed. This medium provides a platform for learning and getting enlightened. I consider it safe to state that the leading presidential candidates for the next election under the major political platforms of of the PDP and APC include the incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan, General Muhammadu Buhari, Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwakwanso, Nda- Isaiah and a host of others. While some of us have our preferred candidates among these personalities, some are undecided yet. I would like fellow "forumites" to tell us his/her preferred presidential candidate and the reasons behind the choice. Who knows, your reason might be helpful to others, while this thread and indeed Nairaland might be a reference point for opinion polls, arising from your responses, which could even help in advancing academic research. Please note that I'm not a politician and I don't intend to turn this thread into a political campaign ground. It is purely for our enlightenment and to also provide a platform for political education. MODS, please be on guard for any violation of rules. |
Nigeria takes the lead. 2 goals to 1. own goal by Diakite |
True independence is when all citizens enjoy equal, fundamental and basic rights, devoid of oppression and domination. For what is the joy of independence when leaders rule like colonial masters, the elites dominate and mindlessly loot our common wealth and an ordinary Nigerian cannot have access to the basic necessities of live, which is food, cloth and shelter? Our independence will only be meaningful when our leaders rule with justice, equity and conscience. God bless Nigeria! |

I got married for these reasons: 1. I was tired of being a bachelor and it's associated lifestyles such as having to deal with multiple babes, living a fast life and all 2. I met a wonderful babe in my fiancee (now my wife and mother of my kids), whom I was convinced was (and is still) the right woman for me 3. I felt it was right to get married, having been a working class bachelor for over 6 years. Even though I'm not an expert on marital issues, but I honestly believe that no one should give in to any form of pressure to enter into marriage. Marriage is best when you personally make up your mind to go into it. As an advice to folks planning to get married, keep an open mind. Yes it's good to have a vision of whom you would like to marry, but please, don't be too pre -occupied by expectations and that vision. Most importantly, marry someone what you feel for him/her rather than his/her looks or riches. That doesn't mean you should marry a poor or ugly being. What I know is, when you meet the right one for you, something would spur you to consider marriage. And for those who believe in prayers, pray well before you tie the knots. That doesn't mean your prayers would wipe away the enormous nerve - wrecking marital challenges, but when you marry for feelings and not riches or looks, you would surely overcome the challenges and forge on. As for guys, if you are not the patient type, please try and be before you get married, else, you will be frustrated. You would certainly need to often times subsume your manly status and wear the garment of patience if you want peace. If there's something marriage has thought me, it's patience. Abeg, i'm not an authority on marital issues and you can't just give the right advice because circumstances differ, just love, pray and have the will before you get married. And after getting married, always be patient and considerate. Shikena! |
MEILYN: Another I.diot uses Jesus to Justify a devilCan you see how senseless and empty you are? I only asked you simple questions and you are spewing trash. You said he is a scammer, I asked you to prove it and you can't. The fact that you brand him a scammer without proof isn't judgement? To add salt to injury, you said you would declare me stupid as if what you say about me have any effect. You must be quite deluded and sick. You can believe what you like just as I'm at liberty to believe what I like. The only thing I'm pointing out Is you don't allege what you can't substantiate. I maintain, Oyedepo doesn't compel you to part with your money. even if he preaches giving, it is still voluntary. He has never forced anyone to give. try and dust you books, school resumes tomorrow. You should be more concerned about passing in school than criticising Oyedepo because from your submission, it is glaring you are still a school boy. and if you are not, you definitely think like one. Just pray for wisdom and understanding. You are mistaken if you think I'm an apologist of Oyedepo. You get it all wrong. I don't even follow his teachings. I don't pay tithes and all other financial aspects of his teachings. I give according to wishes. so, don't be deluded. I only need your blank mind to know that it is wrong to allege what you can't substantiate. Stupid goat |
MEILYN: The only thing God would do for you is to make sure you don't beg for food, He will make sure you are okay. Riches is a distraction. He knows that if He blesses you with too much wealth then you will begin to grow wings.Meilyn or whatever your name is, relax. Even if you are frustrated, try and stay calm. Who did Oyedepo scam? Could you please let me know where and when he declared himself the richest pastor? So you are now God to determine how much a pastor can be blessed. stop being stupid. As much as i know, no church compels you to give. Giving is voluntary. Oyedepo didn't and never forced anyone to part with his/her wealth, so why crucify him? You quote the bible and yet you judge. I guess you know it's wrong to judge. If you don't like him or his ministry, ignore him. Why don't you allow God, the ultimate judge to judge him? You hypocrisy and ignorance of the bible you claim to know by quoting is unparalleled. The man Oyedepo, either genuine or fake is left to God to determine. Judging him is even worse than scamming that you senselessly accuse him of. If you are convinced he is a scammer, point out the facts or you keep your lousy mouth shut. By the way, I guess Oyedepo is happy he is being crucified. After all, Jesus too was crucified in His time. |
..... Put Jesus and Oyedepo on the same sentence again and I will declare you s.tupid..... What do you mean by judging? Most Nigerians are really s.tupid and dumb. Something that is visible for all to see? You call that judgment? Foooooooooolllllllllssssssss
