Testimonytime: Long post alert Testimonytime
What God cannot do does not exit.
My Canadian dream started at the lowest point of my life, January 7th 2016. I watched with the greatest pain I ever experienced when the doctor brought out my full term stillbirth baby in Methodist Hospital Houston Texas, USA. I knew there and then that I can do nothing without Jesus and surrendered completely to Him at my lowest ebb. I changed my moniker from Twingirls to Testimonytime ( Twingirl is still on Nairaland land, though I am not using it again).
Fast forward to when answered my prayers and I wanted to travel again for the birth, my visa application hang and I meant hung in the air.
After several failed attempt at express entry, due largely to age, I resolved to student visa, I refused to give up.
Submitted my first application on 21st February and got refusal on 18th March on lieing about previous refusal, personal asset and financial status and employment situation.
Reapplied 16th April Medical passed 30th April Requested gcms June 21st, came back blank 21st July Eligibility started 22nd July Reapplied for gcms 23rd July, came back with recommended interview 13th September Eligibility went back yesterday to “we will tell you when we start reviewing your application” PPR – 4th November
I give all glory to God, He made this possible I appreciate Justmellow who wrote my LOE and even in my state of dejection, I knew he did an extraordinary work on my LOE, he advised me further on steps for the reapplication and followed up all the way. Keji, an angel I met on nairaland, who proof read my SOP, compiled all my documents into pdf and resize ( working tirelessly even at midnights) Lekiboboe who advised me to go for pgd in Culinary management Selkirk College BC instead of CNA diploma Frankrobn who encouraged me to re- fire and not loose hope Annon123, Ayokaq, Akoko123 and others who assisted in one way or another either by suggesting relevant documents or supporting me through the trying six and half months of waiting. I am 43 years old, I changed career from law to culinary practice. Sponsor was my husband and God came through for me. I have no doubt He did it all, PPR is God’s miracle. Men ought to pray and not faint, I prayed my ppr into existence and did the best I could on the document submitted.
Finally. This is so good to hear. Congratulations madam |

God finally did for me. I learnt a lot from this platform including when I was putting my applications together. First Time Applicant. Master program and 11+ years study gap. I ensured the master’s program is in line with what I do. #Silent – the master program I am going for, I already have the same certificate in Nigeria
Congratulations. If I may ask, what is the difference between your SOP and Letter of Explanation? What is the content of each? Kindly clarify. Thank you |

Madeincanada: She has MSc in what program? Let me share my experience. I have BSc in Sociology, MSc in international business and Management and I received an offer to study another MSc in Employment Relations. I’m also an auditor in a financial institution. All these were stated in my study visa application. I wrote a convincing letter that as an auditor, I audit HR department and needed to hone my skills in that area. I also made sure my LinkedIn profile reflects ‘HR auditor’ should in case … I received PPR last week. Thanks for your response. Msc Policy Analysis |

makano: Hello Zocken
It depends on how you wanna go about this...
1. Some hide their previous Msc and just make use of their Bsc to apply for their Visa application with a Msc LOA and get their Visa... But with this, you will have to remain silent on your previous MSc all through your stay in Canada to avoid misinterpretation later in the future i.e when applying for PR and also Citizenship cos Canada keep records of the details of all applicants from the very 1st time you apply for your study permit Visa or any kinda IRCC visa..
2. Some declare their previous Msc and apply for their Visa application with a new Msc LOA and get their Visa.. But with this, you must be more than ready and capable to convince the Visa officer on why you are going for another Msc and not PHD which is a higher degree.. You can do this with a strong and convincing SOP and LOE...
Peace
Thanks Makano. |

I will advise her to go for the master's, but she needs to provide a strong SOP to explain why she is going for another master's, there is no point hiding the first masters. Some people have gotten visa whilst going for a second masters. All the best Thanks @ Lekiboboe, @Makano and others, your thoughts? |

Akanoa: Alhamdullilah it has ended in praise for me. This journey has been on for me since 2019 after leaving highschool but I thank God that it has finally ended.
Timeline: First application: Submission: march 3, 2021 Biometrics: April 6,2021 Upfront medical: August 2020 NSE request: April 14. Submitted IELTS so I sent only MBS and it was acknowledged on April 19. Refusal: June 9,2021 a few days after I ordered my gcms notes.
Second application Submission and confirmation: June 24, 2021 No NSE request. Medicals: I saw how fast the slots where filling up so I booked for August 12 as my previous medical would expire August 9. Ppr and bvl: around 8:45 a.m today on September 17, 2021. Documents submitted All imm forms. Sop drafted by me and also a LOE tackling my previous refusal reasons. My sponsors (mom) account statement for both personal and business accounts with closing balance of 25m. Property valuation of one of my mom's house. Also landed properties.
I didn't really do much, it was all done by our consultant. Omo yesterday my mom and I even went to buy dollar because of the present exchange rate and I also changed the pounds I had with me to order my gcms notes (My mom didn't want me to order for it because she thought that was why my first one was refused ). All this was just yesterday. Man I'm still surprised.
I will be sending my passport for stamping on Monday Insha Allah. Congratulations 1 Like |

2 million as a Sponsor? or I didn't get what you talking about?
That money is too small to have as a sponsor considering other relevant factors..
That amount cant even cover your school fees, not to talk of other expenses..
Having 2 million as an aplicant that has a sponsor is good to go, but not the Sponsor.. So please work on that..

Zocken: Guys, please help me. How best can I address this situation? One is the issue of lump sum. I gave 10m (in 3 tranches) to someone for business for over 4 months. He is paying tl pay back now and I want to use it to support my wife's visa application. How can I prove it?
The 2nd issue is her occupation/ experience vis a vis her proposed course of study. She has BSc Accounting(2008), Msc Policy Analysis(2016). She is also ANAN Chartered (2017). She's got admission for PDG Accounting(College ;2 years) and Master of Organizational Management (University;1yr). We have a company (fully registered) which we use for general contract (she's the highest share holder) and also works as an Auditor with a Federal Government agency for over 10 years, albeit with a salary of less than 100k. Her current account balance is about 4m with reasonable inflow and outflow for the last 3 months.
Now to my worries;
(1) Which course is best for her considering her work experience, study gap, salary and financial situation? (2) I want her to be self sponsored and I want the 10m paid into her account. 5m has already been paid into the company account. How do we explain this lump sum payment considering that the company hardly does any contract (the last major payment into the account was 27m in 2014)?
People of God, please share your thoughts. I believe we are all here to help one another....
Waiting for suggestions from the gurus please. Na beg I dey... |

Now to the reason for my post this morning, and this goes to the applicants that have gotten their PPR of recent and not come back to share their timeline.. I consider this action selfish and unpleasant.. Before you all got your PPR, you came here daily to get information on how to get your application approved by either asking questions or reading silently... Now you got your PPR, you feel you do not need the thread again, this is not so good behavior...
Sharing your timeline helps this thread a lot....

ForevaTT: Hi,
Since the 1st of April 2021, I've been a silent reader on Nairaland. I learned about web-forms, e-mailing MPs (which I did), and even the official email address to contact for updates using this platform.
My application was approved this morning after nearly 5 months of checking my e-mail every day and sending multiple web-forms. God takes all the glory on this one.
I have a Bsc. in Computer Technology from BU but applied for an Advanced Diploma Business Admin course at Seneca College and my application was approved. It happens to be a three year course btw! This means it's very possible to apply for a diploma even with a Bsc. My mother is my sponsor and note this, i supplied a fixed deposit investment from a reputable Microfinance bank (alongside an access bank statement of account). 95% of the monies were with the MFB. I also supplied my company bank statement with SCB.
I also supplied the following : 1. Lease agreement i had secured with a student residence on campus. 2. SOP written by me (edited by God ) , explaining my career path and study purpose. As a footwear designer, i included a catalogue of my designs, CAC documents and also attached my CV. 3. Sponsorship letter from my mum narrating my business achievements and why she chose to support me further.
Overall, I believe God's favor was at work here because I've seen many more qualified people be turned down! What God cannot do does not exist!
Keep praising God in anticipation, you are next !
Congratulations. Like you said, it is not about how "perfect" the application is, but by the grace of God Almighty. Do your part as best as you can, then leave the rest to God and trust Him absolutely... 1 Like |

Thank you for your advice. I just received a mail from the school and I learnt that since I haven't made payment for full tuition fee and didn't register for courses, my application has been withdrawn and I will not be refunded part payment of my tuition as well.
I wrote the international segment several emails and the registrar as well, letting them understand the reason I needed to defer but none of my mails were responded to.
How do I go about the deferment and in case they don't oblige me deferring, how do I get refunded for my part payment of tuition fees.

Bombaclat!! 60K application fee ain't a joke
With your 2.2 , you can easily get admission to a college for a Post Graduate Certificate (PG. Cert.) program, that being said;
Are you interested in going for a Program related to your Degree or related to your Job experience? If yes, - what did you studied in the University? - What year did you graduate ? (To address study gap) - What is the name of your Job, and what are your Job duties? (To know if your Job is related to tour Degree)
Your Response to the above questions would enable you get specialized PG. Cert program suggestions from this platform Securing admission in Canada is not easy at all @Lekiboboe, please suggest courses and colleges/universities for someone following; BSc Accounting (2/2, 2008) Msc Policy Analysis (2016) ANAN (2017) Over 10 years work experience as an Internal Auditor in a Federal Government agency.
