Kez911: Wat stage is your application? Is it more than 10-12weeks since you did your biometrics, if yes then order for your gcms note to know what is holding it? How long will that be processed and delivered. |

Good sign, I'll say. If s/he is willing to sponsor you, then you'll most likely get the scholarship. Ayodeji787: Hi everyone,
I applied to University of Saskatchewan MSc research program for fall 2019. On March 6th, my supervisor (Graduate chair) nominated me for a scholarship competition. So last week my supervisor who is the graduate chair of my department called and also emailed me. He said '' I have been recommended for a scholarship by their selection committee and my name is the second on the list of people to fund but he hasn't been given permission to fund scholarships yet. That he will keep me informed as this proceed and he is very interested in having me join his lab this september.
Please is this really a good sign everyone?
Thanks everyone one |

deebee23: Good day all trv hopefuls. This post might be long tho but just want to share to all applying.
•Application submitted: 13th of February(Paper route) •Biometrics: N/A (Gave it out the last time I was given a visitor visa) •Medical request: 2nd of April •Medical done: 15th of April •Medical passed: 19th of April •Correspondence letter: 23rd of April •Approval: 7th of May
Documents submitted: •All CIC documents •Admission letter from institution(Thompson Rivers University) •Receipt of Tuition and Fees •Copies of my present and previous passport data pages •Copies of countries visa pages •Letter to show I’ll take part in my family’s business •Letter from the institution where I was taking computer courses •TOEFL REPORT •Police character certificate •SOP •Study permit Questionnaire •High school transcript •Copy of WAEC Result
Travel history •UK •US •Dubai •Canada
Sponsor’s documents (Dad) •Sponsor bank statement of six months •Sponsor Domiciliary account •Sponsor Remuneration Statement •Sponsor ID card •Letter of sponsorship •Confirmation letter of employment for sponsor •Reference letter from Sponsor bank
After I was done with high school in 2015 I got admitted to a private uni the following year. It happened that I was not given my desired course coupled with other reasons i had to change. Then last year I applied for a US student visa. The first one was weird considering that I was hardly asked any question and those that went before me(long line oh)got refused aside like 3 people which were of old age. Then the second interview this year January went well but I was given a wrong bank statement. It was quite frustrating but didn’t let it stop me from applying for a Canadian trv. Then d following month I proceeded to submit my application at Lagos vfs. Then first week of April I got my medical request which I did at IOM. After which I checked my account some days later and saw medical passed. Then I got my correspondence on the 23rd. I was thinking I’d get my approval d next day oh but it was still processing and my Uni was to resume in May, so I just decided to give them a week. After no reply i sent emails to Kenya and Lagos telling them I’ll soon resume and pleaded to them for an update. Then on d 7th of May I got an email saying they have finalised my application. I logged in straight and saw final decision has been updated to approved with my counterfoil details below. I was really happy. Then some hours later I got an email from vfs that my passport is ready for collection. I was surprised cause I thought it’ll take some days. I went there this morning with my mom and picked it up in a sealed brown envelope. Opened it and d first thing I saw was d page which my visa was issued on. I just put my trust in God from the beginning and prayed over it with my mom(God bless her) and God answered our Prayers.
I didn’t know about this thread on nairaland till like 2 weeks after I submitted. Seeing d documents some submitted and I was like what?? I just knew i had all d CIC documents on d website, the financial documents my mom listed out,my educational documents and d sop which my sister recommended. I wasn’t able to link my application online for about 5 weeks after trying severally. It really bothered me but I just tried to keep calm. I messaged CIC and Kenya. Got replies from them but it wasn’t d answer tho. Not so long after that my medical mail came in with my app number and UCI which I used to link my profile online. Not to mention in my sop I didn’t explain d study gap(Don’t try it oh)cause I didn’t know how I’d explain it well to the VO in a way that won’t end up complicating things(had it typed down already a night before submission)so I just decided to leave it out but made sure I listed out what I did after high school in my study permit questionnaire(Attached a letter from where I was taking my computer courses). After my Medicals was passed I just had more faith that it will end in praise and thankfully it did. Like I said before I just prayed over and over. With God all things r possible!
Will be Travelling to British Columbia this week.
To all trv hopefuls I hope God will see you through. Congratulations! Please which visa office processed your application? |

nija4us: hello brothers and sisters, preparing to fill the study permit application but I have few questions to ask on the funds section.
The program is undergraduate Four years. Please if for one academic year (8 months) the tuition fee is about 13,500 CAD and the insurance, books and other required fees are 3,000 CAD and campus accommodation and feeding for two semesters are 9,000 CAD, how will I feel the spaces containing the TUITION FEES, ROOM AND BOARD, OTHERS, FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR MY STAY?
Thanks for your answers. Tuition fees = 13,500 Room and Board = 9,000 Others = 3,000 Funds Available = State how much is available to you. It is not the summation of your total expenses as @JustMellow wrongly stated in his answer |

sillysassysally: I agree with you. I don't think its nice for people to indirectly imply that a candidate shouldn't be worried because their application has not reached up to 8 months. People have valid reasons to be worried even though their application is "relatively new", let's just encourage one another. This thing is not easy. Yes o. sillysassysally: TRV processing time update 09/04/2019
We now have a sample of 34 hopefuls!
I would encourage those that have applied this year to share their timeline (with details such as; Application Route, whether you're a new or re-applicant, School Resumption Date, Application Date, Biometrics Request Date, Biometrics Done Date, Medical Request, Medicals Done, Medicals Passed, PPR or the Current Status of your application). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it. This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates. (Please note that the calculated estimates are just averages based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average)
For those that have already submitted their timeline, kindly share if you are a new applicant or a re-applicant. Also, please share when you are expected to resume school. This would help us understand if there is a relationship between processing time and resumption date. (Cc Dedecoder, Godatwork23, Dolapok, Oni2019, docsaj, Klem28, Ancy 26, Trishaben, Omarzx, ify85, umulobi, Iykedpetes)
Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data or if there is a better way you think I can present the data, I am always open to suggestions. Expected Study Start Date: September 2019 Application Route: Online New Applicant Application Date: 7 March 2019 Biometric Request Date: 8 March 2019 Biometric Done: 14 March 2019 Current Application Status: Background Check |

Frankrobbn1: Hi Amahjosh,
In respect to your questions, please find the following answers below:
1-) You have to draw a family tree that will encapsulate how your father and his cousin (uncle) is related. First, you have to start by demonstrating the relationship between your grandfather and your (sponsor's) grandfather with the rest of the family members down to your generation. See attached at the last page of this post a copy of a family tree you can use it as guide when constructing yours. While doing this, try as much as you can to establish a strong proof of relationship between you and your sponsor, by including your father's age declaration, int'l passport bio data page and sponsor int'l passport bio data page.
2-) Having your sponsor to pay for your tuition fees from his account isn't a red flag to your visa application rather it gives a practical exhibition that funds will be accessible and available to you the principal applicant. It further goes a long way to show your sponsor (uncle) financial commitment, genuineness and eagerness to finance your study in Canada.
3-) These are the list of DOCUMENTS you need from your sponsor (uncle).
4-) BREAK DOWN BETWEEN ONLINE ROUTE AND PAPER ROUTE
i)The online route no one will correct your mistakes like it is done on paper route where VFS workers will make sure your papers are complete and arranged accordingly before submission.
ii) If you have access to a scanner and a desktop/system, online route is okay. Bear in mind, you will need to compress and merge your documents to 4MB before you can be able to upload them on your MyCIC account and also have your Naira debit card handy in order to complete payment. On the other hand, the paper route you are to pay at the counter in the VFS office.
III) The online route, upon successful submission of your application, you will receive a notification a day or 2 days as the case maybe at times might stay up to a week to proceed for your biometrics. Whilst, the paper route, you will complete everything that very day at the VFS office, then wait for the outcome of your application.
IV) Finally, Online route is cost (65-66k) for first timers. Whereas, paper route cost (68-69k) for first time applicant.
So it's left for you to decide which best suit you. Be properly guided that none of the above routes (paper and online) have any added advantage to your TRV application.
5-) You will have enormous explanation to give should you opt for a second degree instead of a PGD reasons being that you will have to cover up for your study gaps. What were you up to/doing since you last left highschool until now?. I believe your sole purpose of coming here is to seek for advice. Hence, I will advice you from the wisdom of my experiences which I enjoyed for over the years that you should go ahead and apply for your visa with the PGD acceptance letter from George Brown College(GBC) and explain in your SOP how the program will be beneficial to your career and how it will be translated to your home country for the benefit of others.
I drop my pen!
Best of luck! Please will I have to pay the cost of transmitting my passport to the embassy at VFS Global, if I applied via the online route? |

However,if you're submitting a document addressed directly to the embassy(in a sealed envelope) you should submit the original document Thanks a great deal. But which route will you advise Is better? And will I have to submit my passport along with paper application? Pls, don't mind these questions I'm asking as I am a newbie to the whole Canada application thing. |
