So they would deploy untrained enumerators and supervisors? |
Godwin4444:If UK govt did not ask me where I came from before assessing me for tax refunds, why should I answer you? I was born and raised in Lagos, I pay related dues to the property I have there linked to my name and I can't connect how state of origin is a prerequisite to ask about taxation in Lagos where I pay tax. |
PulaPower:I contacted HMRC and I am actually on the path of getting tax refunds for tax I paid to the UK govt while working as an international student even though I have switched to skilled worker visa and I don't mind the council tax, road tax, TV license etc because services are being rendered and moreover I am on a free UK medical care tied to my skilled worker visa till 2028 and I comfortably pay those taxes. |
Godwin4444:How is it relevant to the discourse? ![]() |
PulaPower:I don't go to HMRC Coventry office which covers where I am here in the UK, I access them online. Anyone paying taxes in Lagos, don't need to go to Alausa though I know your mind is still stuck in the 1980s ways of doing things. |
Godwin4444:Anyone paying tax in Lagos state in one way or the other, irrespective of his/her state of origin, has the right the ask questions regarding taxation in Lagos State. |
Shagari was from the North-West region. Abacha was from the North-West region. Yar'dua was from the North-West region. Buhari is from the North-West region. What edge do they have today, over other Nigerians in terms of human capital development. |
Voters apathy expected. |
Lithiumite:OK. |
Lithiumite:Obaseki is presently doing his second term. |
Visibility Peter Obi got, was unprecedented. |
Majesty7:Which reason? |
MrAgbako:If MC Oluomo was not arrested, why should Obi and Datti be arrested as everyone is "joking"? |
If you ask of the name of Tinubu's father.........eerie silence. |
Allardyce:Every one of us has hurt someone in the past. |
It is none of your business, restrict your viewing to TVC. |
swaggerjack:Then who is his father, in the Tinubu's family tree? |
Draslo:Among the igbos, the mother of the woman comes first then the husband's mother comes as that is how the husband's maternal grandmother came before that of his paternal. Those abroad tend to juggle it between the 2 mothers. |
Draslo:The woman from her husband's side will not show up to offer help while OP's mother is still there....it is an unwritten law. OP's mother reminds one of this Bible verse "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let in those who wish to enter" ![]() |
Gbogbowa:We are dealing with learned helplessness.....come next elections, voters apathy, ethnicity and bigotry would make the electorate still prefer those who would tighten their handcuffs! |
Hermeknorr:Let the wife apply first and come over to be sure what is on ground, then the husband can apply. I said this based on experience as I did my biometrics on Thursday 30th March in Birmingham and got my skilled work visa on the 31st of March and expires April 2nd 2028 and got my BRP delivered last Thursday as I switched from student to Tier 2. I have met several African couples some even with their children who all came together to the UK through the healthcare visa and over 90% are having it very rough because most of the firms who sponsored them have little or no shifts for them and still bringing in more people, spouses who are the dependents are not easily getting the jobs to support the family because to even get factory jobs is no longer easy because many international students who graduated and now on post study work visa have taken over working full time in factories, warehouses and care homes, reason many international students who came to the UK from this January are struggling to get jobs for their weekly 20hrs. My colleagues who were sponsored from South Africa, all came alone and their spouses and children joined after 3-4 months as they were able to save, look for accommodation for their family with less pressure and can financially take care of the home while their spouse look for work. |
Freetech:What emotions is he stirring? 133 million Nigerians live in dire poverty going by Federal Government's own statistics, over 20 million school age children are presently out of school (a huge security risk as they are a huge recruitment pool for criminal activities), 99.5% of bank accounts in Nigeria has below N500k in it etc.......is that not bondage? |
ipobcannibals:Las, las you would be murdered by some low-life riff-raffs all because they want to steal the only N1,000 you have on you and Nairaland frontpage would read "Man stab to death because of N1,000". ![]() |
KolaShangOne:I know many Nigerian postgraduate students here in the UK who switched to skilled worker visa, paying between 7,000 -10,000 GBP, though some have monthly instalment payment plan. |
Flier:Why not increase it to 25 years! Do even Buhari and Tinubu believe in Nigeria's healthcare system? |
NOETHNICITY:I guess you came to this conclusion, after visiting every bus park in every State in Nigeria? |
Last Friday evening, I was to travel back to my base here in the UK which was about one hour bus ride with a National Express bus. There was a 2 hours delay because I later got to know that there way an accident that affected traffic. I call their customer care and was releasing my frustration on their staff, I finally boarded the bus and the next day (yesterday) I called their customer care again to "rant" over how they messed my Friday evening and I was told that based on the call I made on Friday, there is a note that I should be refunded the money for that ticket and given a free ticket for the same route (which I frequent) as compensation for the inconveniences, so I got my refund yesterday and a free ticket I will be using on Tuesday. |
