A final year student of the Rivers State University of Science Technology, Kpagane Desire, has been declared missing after she posted a suicide note online.

Before Desire disappeared on Wednesday, June 26, she posted on Facebook that she was going to kill herself her ‘flesh’ should be fed to a lecturer at the University identified as Dr. Paul Nadure.

Rapper, Nicki Minaj has confirmed she is set to marry Kenneth Petty after revealing they have obtained a marriage license.

Prophet Jacob Ade Farinmade, the head of Celestial Church of Christ, Gospec Mission, Mosan, Ipaja, Lagos, has been arrested for allegedly killing a female undergraduate he impregnated.

The 72-year-old suspect allegedly secretly buried Bunmi after she died during childbirth and he didn’t inform her parents.

The deceased was said to have been taken by her father to live with her mother, following her rustication in 200 level at Babcock University in 2014.

Bunmi’s mother, Derayo Omisipi, thereafter took her to Farinmade for spiritual deliverance and protection.

According to TheNation, the cleric, who already had more than 10 wives, took advantage of Bunmi’s stay in his church for the purported deliverance, to lure her to bed and impregnated her.

It was learnt that the cleric did not allow the deceased to attend any antenatal clinic throughout the duration of her pregnancy. The cleric onlybroke the news of the girl’s death to her mother after he had buried her in a shallow grave near his church premises.

The father of the deceased became curious after her mother could not offer satisfactory explanation about her whereabouts. He later reported the matter to the police and the cleric was arrested.

A middle-aged man and father of five children was on Friday allegedly crushed to death by staff of Department of Public Transportation (DOPT) in Calabar, Cross River.

The incident occurred along Post Office in Calabar Road, Cross River State around 11.30am

An eyewitness, Mrs. Atim Okon, said she was at the scene of the incident when DOPT officials chased the man for selling around the post office. She said the workers attempted to seize his wares.

She said, “The victim was selling shoes along the Post Office when the DOPT officials harassed him and threatened to seize his goods. The officials gave him a thorough beating and even threw him into the gutter.

“He came out of the gutter; pleading with DOPT workers to save his live and goods but the officials crushed him to death with their vehicle even while he was on his kneels pleading with them,” she alleged.

“The irate boys and suspected thugs went on rampage, destroying vehicles and other property belonging to the DOP” she stated.
