Thanks for your input.

I'll be on the lookout for Californian White and New Zealand.

I just don't want to get rabbits that are from the same bloodline to avoid inbreeding.

That's why it's best to get them from a reputable breeder or from different farms.

I'm aspiring to get into rabbit farming for meat, majorly for family consumption, and the plan is to start with a male Flemish Giant and two New Zealand White female.

If you've got weaners of those breeds mentioned up there, let's talk.

Your determination is commendable but dear distinguished one, if someone comes to you and claims he/she has Flemish Giant in Nigeria, run!
There's no Flemish Giant available in Nigeria. Our weather doesn't support their growth. Even research institutions in Jos that imported some, they all died.

I didn't know he can only mate once a week
. sad

A buck(male) can serve more than 5 does(females) in a day!.
Take note of the following though:
1. Mate them early in the morning before 8am or late at night. Never mate in the hot part of the day.

2. Deworm your buck and doe regularly (I do mine 2x a month). You can go for the inorganic dewormers or organic (scent leaves, bitter leaves and pawpaw leaves)

3. If your buck is lazy, get kolanut, ginger, garlic. Chop them in small pieces, soak for 5 days and give the buck 5mls (remove the needle in a syringe) daily for 3 days. For effective results tho, I usually add more kolanut.

4. If you won't mind, you can send a message to my mail. I'd be glad to help you along in your journey.

Shalom.

The media is always quick to churn out bad news just to sell their clicks without recourse to the family's well-being 😡😡

The family members haven't been fully briefed yet, his young children don't know their dad is dead yet a quarter of Nigeria's population already knows 😔😔.

Sleep on Baba dáadáa. We'll certainly miss you but we're consoled in the good works you've done for the church, community and family.

Plus the Upods, I'm a full fledged member of the family grin grin

Good evening gents and ladies.
I'm looking forward to retiring my Umidigi A3S in 2 months time after almost 3 years of glorious service. I lost the Upods sometimes last year though but the A3S has been splendid.

My budget is between ₦60,000 to ₦80,000.
Kindly suggest any Umidigi brand with :
Type C charger
3gb-4gb RAM

PS: I don't deal in second-hand devices.

Shalom.

Dear Diary,

It has really been a long time!
No vex!
Updates on my backyard garden: harvests of cucumbers, eggplant and carrots have been going on steadily.
Radish and onion have been planted (as experiments), watermelon also has been planted.
I am fully enjoying the benefits of container gardening in a small space. It has its limitations tho (we'll discuss this later).

All in all, it has been a good year so far!

We do not give up!
This is a learning page for me.

Yes...100%. You just get yourself a TRCN certificate, that's all.

You know this because you work with or for TRCN ?

Seems you forgot it means Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and your NCE or B.Ed result or certificate is part of what you'll tender when applying for the certificate?
You'll still sit for TRCN exams o

Don't let those saying 'before nkọ' deceive you.
You might get the job (I'm sure the school is either not registered or it's an upcoming school) but in the long run, it'll stand against you.
Laslas, get a PGDE ASAP.

I know these because I'm in charge of administrative duties where I work and I handled registration of my school with the ministry of Education.

Thanks at flowmama scientificmama grin .
I have actually read similar theory about it's usage. I only want to know if anyone has really applied it for real and compared results.

There's another school of thought that believes sawdust/ wood shavings doesn't cause nitrogen depletion around the root zone of crops.
The nitrogen loss is active only around the few centimetres covered by the sawdust/wood shavings and not in the deeper root zones where major nutrients exchange takes place. You'll just need to augment with little addition of nitrogen fertilizer (not necessary though IMO).

I've been using this method for a while now and I've not noticed any nitrogen loss rather it's great for moisture retention and great weed control.

My observations

Which foliar are you using? I thought you have a foliar.

Agrovert. The one with high potassium content. I can't recall the numbers now

Not advisable except you can combine 10g of npk in soil with your digrow red foliar spray.

I've been considering that DI-Grow also.

That'll be for next planting season.
For now, make my account relax small.

We're moving into animal husbandry soonest!

Thanks for the compliment. How many fruits per plant so far?
Cucumbers can keep producing for 8 to 12 weeks or even more if it has the right nutrition.
Any granular fertilizer used so far?

Honestly I didn't note the number of fruits per plant.

No granular fertilizer used except the foliar spray. I only have the 20-10-10 granular fertilizer.
I don't think that's still needed at this stage. Or is it ?

Dear diary,

Compliments of the new month! It's going to be a fruitful one.

We're here with the first official wink wink harvest of the cucumbers!

This is dedicated to emmaachile2 for been a great human being cool . His assistance offline has been of tremendous difference in the garden. The Laraforce Gold he suggested is really working! The fruitflies are gone and now I can enjoy my harvest peacefully.

This harvest is official because it's the one I've gotten time to update on this diary but it's actually the 3rd round of harvest grin

Other plants are doing well.

Stay tuned for update on the new mulching method I'll be trying out as dry season approaches smiley

Shalom.

It's around N3000 or so. Gardening isn't cheap at all but the reward is worth it in the long run with knowledge of first hand farming.
I consider it as lesson money.

Honestly it isn't cheap and I salute the courage of full-scale farmers.
For this season alone, I've expended over 20k on what I'm not selling shocked
Some peeps see this as foolishness but I know it's knowledge gained. If I were to quantify the data spent downloading materials (videos, eBooks etc) on gardening!

All the same, no knowledge is wasted or lost

There are traps called feromone traps. See it at work in this video where profitable farming is discussed with right choice of seeds.

I'll do so.
Won't it be too expensive for a backyard gardener ?
