Senate President, Senator David Mark, Thursday dispelled the anxiety generated by the impeachment threat from the lower chamber of the National Assembly, saying Nigerians should not worry themselves over impeachment.

Speaking with journalists in Umuahia, after declaring open the retreat of Senate Press Corps, Mark said both the Senate and the House of Representatives were working together for the good of the nation.

The Senate President advised Nigerians not to bother themselves over any impeachment move on President Goodluck Jonathan, noting that every Nigerian, “is a stakeholder in the democratic project”, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to sustain the nation’s democratic governance.

Speaking also, Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, urged the Nigerian media to promote good governance and arouse the patriotism in the populace.

He lamented that it was Nigerians who were fond of insinuating bad things about their country, when ordinarily they should be passionate about promoting their fatherland

Nigerians will reject anything that will truncate our democracy. Let's consolidate on the existing structures. Disagreement between the Executives and the Legislators isn't healthy to our corporate existence. Make them shield sword and work together
