Therefore, Due to complaints that we are receiving from some of our customers about their atm cards like, withdrawing of money from their account without their notice and some others, It is our pleasure introducing to you our new security plan "MAXI-SECURE", It is a security plan designed to permit atm machines process payment only to atm cards that are registered in this plan, that is once your atm card is been registered in this security plan, no payment will be processed out of your account to any personnel(fraudster) having your atm card details without your notice, unless you personally slot in the registered atm card to any of the atm machines of Interswitch bank nationwide or use online for shopping and many others, it is only when payment can be processed out of your account.
This will be effective as from twenty first(21st) January 2008, after registration of all already given atm card.
Pls Note: Starting from 21st Jan. 2008, only atm card that are registered in this security plan can withdraw money from any of the atm machines of Interswitch bank nationwide. This information is only for all already given interswitch atm card users but if you have just applied for one, do not register when given as that have been done for any interswitch atm card issued newly.

It has come to our notice that email of this nature is in circulation nationwide, please to prevent fraud, always take note of the following:
1) The email address of the sender must be interswitch official mailing address: (info@interswitchng.com)
2) The registration of your atm card (s) must be done online and not via email or sms.
And also Do not in any way send your atm card details via email or sms to any personal (who you not) requesting for your atm card details or give the details of your atm card online to any website of which you know nothing about them.

A note for Nairalanders!

I got this email as well. I believe it is a scam and should not be responded to. Also the fact that it purpotedly comes from the authentic Interswitch email address (info@interswitchng.com) suggests that the security of Interswitch mail server system may have been compromised.

Anyone from Interswitch or who can reach Interswitch should raise this issue.

I believe enolose this is another fraud and everyone should disregard this notice because, if you fail to and you make the mistake of sending your atm card no. "sorry" within a twinkle of an eye your account might be wept out. So be carefull wit this kind of scams coming from nairalanders.
