But again, these so called ex-militants are useless. They are getting paid that much and oil bunkering, smuggling, kidnapping, piracy still goes on unabated in ND. I will like to conduct legitimate business in the region but unpleasant news always emanating from there is discouraging and is causing bad market.

I don tire for this marginalization sef! Why didnt FG give Osisi Ka Nkwu some billions to protect Igbos from being Kidnapped instead of killing him? I smell double standards here Retardeen!!

And yet some economic indices shows that our economy is floundering, anyway anybody who thinks that Govt paying these people handsomely should come see for theirselves the sheer destruction inflicted on our oil producing communities then you can shut-a-Bleep-up then.why wouldn't they be paid, isn't it our money,am happy for them @least even if i dont get a dime but am happy nigeria is at peace so that everybody can enjoy the wealth relatively.

hisblud: comparing the above figure N5.6B yearly is nothing compared to $700million x N160 per day since its " there was no better way to secure the pipelines than to employ members of the community within the community were built." i feel its not bad as such however i do hope tomorrow they will not hold the nation hostage and i hope other gangs/militancy would not feel any government facilities will be protected else the destroy it if they are not paid. Hope this doesnt turn bad.

Ouch!!!!! if this whooping figure is anything to go by; it means the country earns 112Billion naira per day, and gosh my adding machine couldnt contain the figure when i tried multiplying by 365 days.
pls can some economist explain to me why we still borrow?
have we exhausted the money we earn already?

While defending the government action, which Okupe said was done by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, he said, “Since this exercise began, the crude oil production has jumped from 1.8mbpd to 2.6mbpd.

“That is an increment of over $700m income per day to the government. So, when you compare what was paid to get this benefit, it pales into insignificance
an increase of 800,000 bpd shld give approximately $100 million/day now, how our attacking dawg take get $700 million/day?

Bros, Na u call am terrorists. What is on paper is that Global West Vessel Specialist Agency has been contracted to safeguard our waterways.
And it is yielding results. From 1.8 Mbpd to 2.7mbpd. No attacks on pipelines. No shutting down of SHELL or CHEVRON flow stations or facility.
We re meeting our OPEC quota. The oil market is booming. Revenue dey accrue. That's what's up.

FEMI FALANA:
1. Crude Oil production/day = 2.5M barrels/day
2. Current Price = $113/barrel
3. Daily Sales = 2.5M x 113 = $282.5million
4. Monthly Sales = 282.5M x 30days = $8.475billion
5. Yearly Sales = $8.475billion x 12 = $101.7billion
6. Naira Equivalent = 101.7billion x N160 = N16.272trillion naira per year.
7. Nigeria's budget for 2012 = N4.5trillion naira.
Now d question is: Where is the surplus going?!
Analysis by Femi Falana (Lagos lawyer/Activist on Channels Tv). An evil conspiracy between the leadership of the Senate, House of Rep, Deziani, Okonjo-Iweala and the Presidency! BESIDES, FIRS ALONE HAS GENERATED ENOUGH REVENUE TO FINANCE 50% OF THIS YEAR'S BUDGET! THIS IS ALSO ASIDE OVER N500Billion GENERATED BY THE CUSTOMS SO FAR! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHY NIGERIA SHOULD BE POOR AND WITHOUT GOOD ROADS, ELECTRICITY, WATER, GOOD HEALTH CARE SERVICES E.T.C!!!
